Next manager at Chelsea?

If we are to assume that Champions League Football will not be making an apperance at the Bridge next season then that would be a terrible prospect.

1) Our Finances will take a major hit just when it was starting to look good

2) Our ability to attract high calibre players will also seriously be affected

Taking these 2 major considerations into account, I feel we should once again bring back Mourinho to the Bridge next season.

Bringing back Mourinho would be us going in a complete cirlce in many ways but lets face it:

1) He is possibly one of the greatest managers ever

2) Even if we are not in the CL next season, his presence at the club will surely be enough to attract the likes of Hazard and Gotze

3) The senior players look upto him and respect him making it all the more easier for him to rejuvenate the squad. Mourinho was the truly the one manager who could ever control the players at Chelsea

4) The move would lift the fans immensely

Either way Roman must crush player power at Chelsea, if Roman does not do that in the summer then every manager will face this problem and something must be done immediately.

That said I would not mind Unai Emery. One of my favourite managers and Unai is someone who has done wonders with Valencia on a tight budget. He is young and dynamic and is someone who commands the respect of his players. I truly feel he can be world-class if he is given the right opportunity.

I also feel the reason Roman is willing to wait till the end of the season to appoint a manager makes it apparent that Rafa Benitez is not the first-choice. My guess would be that Mourinho will be monitering the Guardolia situation closely as well as Mourinho

2. AVBs tactics really suited only 4-5 players in the squad. The squad was stuck between 2 styles and I find it hard to believe why significant investment was not made by AVB in the summer or January to mould the squad. How could he have gone into the season with a squad that did not suit his tactics at all and then not do anything in January to change that?

Exactly that.

The only manager that could have the full control over all football matters is Mourinho.

Thats what we need besides giving a manager enough time, we need to give our manager enough space and power to run the club. Thats why SAF is that successful, because practically he runs the club, not Glazers. We barely see Glazers family. When Abramovich is ready to make that step, things will be changed.

No surprise, he is one of the dumbest football players the game has ever had. Even his teammates share that conclusion.

So here we are again, on the prospect of having a 9th manager in 9 years and again there are varying reactions to the managerial sacking... Let me add my 2 cents worth

When AVB arrived at Chelsea all of us were understandably excited... his tactical prowess was renown, he had just come off a brilliant season with Porto a team which he had made invincible and was young and dynamic. So how did it all go wrong?

1. Well the fact that AVB was sacked mid-way through the season and not given a chance till the end of the season probably suggests that AVB's relationship with the players was fractured beyond repair.

When we hear Lampard moaning and groaning all the time of being on the bench then it is quite obvious that AVB did not communicate with the player properly. If AVB had relayed his plans to Lampard then I am pretty sure Lampard would have been content with a rotational role.

And lets face it Lampard does have a point... he said that he does not mind sitting on the bench but then he wants to see the team win. If the team is not winning and he is sitting on the bench then he as every right to ask on why he is not being given a chance particularly as he is our top scorer this season despite playing significantly fewer games as compared to previous seasons

Either he should have overhauled the squad in the summer or atleast employed tactics that suited the majority of the squad so that we may not find ourselves in the position we are now. It is not really the players fault here when you consider that AVB hardly played the majority of them to their strengths. Only players like Mata, Sturridge and Ramires really prospered in his system while the rest of them had a horrific season

I think that about sums it up for me. AVB's relationship with the players was fractured beyond repair after the loss to West Brom possibly because he did not communicate his idea's properly to his players and his tactics did not suit the majority of the squad.

3. A third possibility is results... AVB had the lowest winning percentage of all the previous Chelsea managers and at the end of the day, people look at results and in that aspect we can safely say that AVB failed miserably especially considering he had a squad that nearly won the title last season. We should have at least been in in the top 4

Despite that, I am very sad to see AVB go. I really believed he could have built a legacy at Chelsea and be on of the greatest managers in the game but **** happens I guess and we have to move on.

Also I feel we can kiss the possibility of CL Football goodbye next season unless Di Matteo pulls of a miracle.

Lampards attitude has been appalling, even Luiz publicly criticised him on it. AVB wanted him to be a squad player, this has been said and has been obvious. Lampard has been pretty poor all season, and yet has the nerve to stop pulling his weight? Forget AVB that is a lack of respect for the fans and the club.

I don't understand.. All this talk of Mourinho, why would he want to come back after he was sacked for no reason..

Right, so Frimpong isn't allowed to have a bit of banter? He's like 19 years old, of course he's going to take the **** out of Chelsea.. Everyone else is.

Hardly behaving like Barton. If you've ever seen Barton's twitter page you can see why he gets so much abuse, he's a tool. Frimpong is just really, really dumb.

I liked that part about Wenger.

I love how the players have respect for him. AVB didnt have that kind of relationship with the players. Not even talking about the old guard, but all of them.

Had a look at Bartons tweets out of curiosity and it was like reading stuff posted by a 10 year old. Some of it was just so incredibly pathetic. Actually felt sorry for him.

If i was him i'd learn to spell proper English first. (i know im not one to talk but hay).

The Luiz interview was taken way out of context (suprise, suprise) just like the Torres one remember. Not once has Lampard publicly criticised AVB, infact he has always come out and said of course i don't like being on the bench but i will do my best when i am selected. You say he has been poor but still has 13 goals this season in a campain where he has been in and out the squad. I would also be ****** off when you see Meireles getting in the squad before you with his diabolical performances week in week out.

Yer i got him on Twitter just basicly to laugh at the child. So unbelievably bias its unreal, even said the Sunderland penalty yesterday was a "soft one".

Is it just me or when someone posts a link to the chelsea website you feel the Title stands out like its SHOUTING at you lol.

Roman and him have more than made up long back. Roman even gifted him a limited edition Ferrari few years back.

and he's said time and time again he'd want to manage chelsea once more.

Talks that Roman has met with Loew today in Geneva, but the article states the wrong contract expiry date with Germany, so I doubt it's true.

AVB is clearly a talented manager I believe it won't be long before he gets a new club.
