Just read on redcafe that according to Makelele's autobiography, Terry didn't want to work with Jose so he handed transfer request. So they had to sack Jose. Stupid decision if true.

Makelele autobiography: “I thought Mourinho was practically untouchable, but a lot of players had complained about him, notably John Terry."
"When Terry let his discontent known to Kenyon & asked him for an immediate transfer,Abramovich reacted immediately"

"The departure of Terry was totally unimaginable so Mourinho was asked to pack his bags.”

Wow never seen this before I always thought they got on well. If Jose is willing to come back but John Terry doesnt want him back and its either him or Jose at the club I know who I would want at the club and it isnt a centre back.

No hating on Sven, please. If nothing else, he'd bring a semblance of order and structure to a team that's fractured at the moment. Quite besides that, he'd get on well with the players because it's pretty much impossible to dislike him.

Sven did well with Benfica, to a certain extent Roma and Sampdoria, and did spectacularly well with Lazio. He then managed to push England to heights that, if you look back on them we had no good reason to reach, and was probably the best England manager since Sir Alf. He didn't do great with Mexico, admittedly, but he turned Ivory Coast around in a tiny amount of time.

I thought it was well known that Terry and Mourinho didn't see eye-to-eye. To my knowledge, they don't dislike each other, but just had different views. I think they always "got on" but Terry wasn't as in love with him as others were e.g. Drogba, Lampard. They did have a mutual respect for each other, though.

Terry said in an interview, that on the night that Jose was sacked, he, Drogba and Lampard were on the phone begging the board to keep him on. He said that in response to a question about his relationship with Mourinho, with the interviewer mentioning that it was reported that they didn't always see eye-to-eye.

It seems that most of the talk in the news right now is about how stupid Chelsea, in particular Roman Abramovich and the board, are. You can understand where this is all coming from, but I think it is a little over the top to say Chelsea will now struggle in the long term - maybe for the rest of the season, but i doubt they will be much worse off next season!

Chelsea caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo is even more unpopular with the club's players than Villas-Boas.

Brilliant Idea Roman! ;)

Really? Because with the departure of AVB, it means they have once again failed to revitalise a team properly. With it now clear that Abramovic will give short thrift to any manager who can't get top four whether they're trying to build a new team or not, the current team will be allowed to grow old together. Any manager would be scared of trying to do the kind of constant revitalisation that Ferguson or to a lesser extent Wenger and Moyes manage under Abramovich, because they know that as soon as results begin to go awry they'll be fired.

Fair enough, but people are exaggerating a lot! This doesn't spell doom for Chelsea, it's just one out of many managers sacked in the last few years. I thought everyone knew that Roman Abramovich was an impatient owner who is all too willing to sack managers, anyway?

There will be managers who will move to Chelsea, trust me! There's no doubt of that. Quality ones? Probably. But you're right, they may be scared to shift out the old guard (players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba)! However, I think a new manager would sign their own new players, who would gradually replace the older players.
