Should have been at least a month out for Mata. Disappointed. 2 weeks is not enough I'm afraid.

Mata is our best player.. Under no circumstances can we think of sending him on holiday for a month and then you factor in another couple of weeks to regain fitness and match sharpness

Last season's game at Loftus road i think hit Mata quite hard in terms of not expecting that hostile crowed really close to him. Was listening to a podcast earlier and someone who was there said after he took one corner he looked scared to take anymore and kept calling Lamps over to take them. Do think he will be used to that now but it's great that he got over a 2 week break, if he's last season form returns then watch out defences. Will be good to see Moses start but i do think it may be Oscar and Moses used as an impact sub.

I don't like the idea of throwing Oscar in the deep end in-front of a hostile crowd while he is yet settling and getting up to speed with the league. Also he has looked very nervous when he has come on for us so far this season and has conceded quite a few fouls... not really the best idea to start him

I would start Sturridge or Moses alongside Hazard and Ramires

Yer that could be a problem obviously, i don't want Sturridge to start wide anymore and with the players we have he shouldn't have too. Would love for Moses to start.

Chelsea U21's are just about to take on Liverpool live on CTV.

Chelsea side: Blackman, Kane, Davey, Aké, Deen-Conteh, Saville, Feruz, Loftus-Cheek, Bamford, Clifford, Marin
Subs:
Coombes, Beeney, Boga, Swift, Christensen

Liverpool side:
Gulacsi, Smith, Robinson, Sama, Wisdom, Coady, Morgan, Roddan, Yesil, Adorjan, Pacheco
Subs:
Teixeira, Stepens, Ngoo, Pelosi, Ibe

Two very strong sides, worth a watch this one.

Defintiely.. Is Piazon injured? Why is he not starting?

Also a good experience for the likes of Feruz and Bamford to play alongside a top player in Marko Marin

Moses would be great.. versatile so it means we will not lose any of that fluidity in the attacking third. Better work-rate than Mata so we will be more secure defensively. I would start Moses with Sturridge as an impact sub

Also a late decision will be taken on whether Mata makes the bench or not

I don't think any South American player is going to be too bothered by a 'hostile crowd' in Europe, unless it's some place like Serbia or Croatia. He may not yet be ready to produce the goods but I think the opposition fans are the least of his concerns.

Marin against a few kids? Now that's just mean.

Well Oscar has looked nervous whenever he has come on so far and playing infront of a hostile crowd is not going to help... I think he should be bedded in more slowly

Tomorrow evening at either 7 or 8 pm ( I think) The Chelsea Story: Champions Of Europe is being shown on sky sports one.

Marin only got 45 but was 0-0 at halftime but his touch looked pretty heavy, looked very unfit. Game finished 4-1 to Liverpool and was fully deserved, Chelsea's scorer was Bamford with a very tidy turn and finish. Best player in Chelsea's eyes was Nathan Ake, very solid and never put a foot wrong, ended the game left back! Chelsea massively missed Piazon though, reports suggest he will be in the first team squad for tomorrow with Marin and Mate being out.

Ake carried the whole defense by himself. Deserves minutes in the League Cup. Seems like he is going to become a very complete defender in the future.

Also good to see Piazon getting into the squad. It's important as the other lads will realize that under RDM, if they work hard and perform well he is not afraid of giving them their due. Notable example being Bertrand

Marin was pretty ***** but match was more about fitness and not performance from his perspective. Doubt he will be playing against Juventus next week. Needs to regain form and fitness

Oh yeah and good to see Feruz come out of hiding. Worked hard on the wing although I think he belongs in the CF role

Really hope that Piazon gets a good 15 minutes especially if we get off to a good lead, love watching him play. Huge potential.

Team: Cech; Ivan, D Luiz, JT (c), Cole; Mik, Lamps; Ram, Hazard, Bert; Torres. - subs: Turn, Azpili, Cahill, Rom, Oscar, Moses, Sturr. #CFC

Torres having a sulk as usual after getting taken off. How can he sulk after how **** he was today? Knows how to wind me up that *****.

Yes he had a sulk but as usual????

Ok we should have had a penalty in the first half but the result was the right one. We under-estimated them which cost us. We missed good chances two with Hazard and never kept the ball long enough to create much more. They missed some big chances too with Park and Zamora and unfortunately merited the point. Positive points came from Moses when he came on and Sturridge, negative was Torres's reaction when he came off. Majority of us have backed him since he came so just accept you have not had the best game.

He always has a little strop when things don't go his way. Remember in Munich when he wasn't in the first 5 penalty takers? IMO he believes everything is against him and it effects his game which is why I still don't feel comfortable s relying on him upfront all season.
