Also the Tank Lukaku scored to West Brom the win vs Reading. Very powerful shot with his left peg

3 points is all that matters against a tough side to break down. Positives were how easy we kept hold of the ball for most of the game, Victor Moses's impact and LUKAKU SCORING THE WINNER FOR WBA!!!

Moses is a beast and looks like a great bargain at 9m pounds. Roll on Arsenal next weekend where there will be no RVP to rip us apart

Have to say, both Luiz and Ivanovic were lucky to stay on the pitch tonight.

JT retires from international football:

John Terry Statement

I am today announcing my retirement from International Football. I would like to thank the England Managers who have selected me for my 78 caps. I have had great pleasure in sharing that honour with all the players that I?ve played with. I would like to thank them, the fans and my family for their support and encouragement during my international career.

Representing and captaining my country is what I dreamed of as a boy and it has been a truly great honour. I have always given my all and it breaks my heart to make this decision. I want to wish Roy and the team every success for the future.
I am making this statement today in advance of the hearing of the FA disciplinary charge because I feel The FA, in pursuing charges against me where I have already been cleared in a court of law, have made my position with the national team untenable.

I now look forward to playing for Chelsea FC, and challenging for domestic and European honours, and I want to thank the fans and the club for their continued support.

John Terry

Interesting line about the FA and racism charges.

Well, the FA have a job to do so that's the way it goes.

That aside, been a great captain for England, led by example on the pitch, always putting his body on the line, excpet now maybe he's paying the price. Hodgson will be bitterly disappointed though.

On the plus side, opens the door for Jagielka/Cahill to fight it out for starting spot and some of the other youngsters

They were indeed but i respect Pulis for not making such a big deal of the Luiz challenge. He knows his side are more physical than most but he was annoyed with the dives and so was i to be honest but it happens. The thing that ****** me off the most was MOTD's constant bashing of Chelsea. They dug out the Brana elbow on Walters i believe it was but during the game there was also a stamp/kick out on Brana by Etherington not shown.

Really do not blame him, it is how it sounds. The FA treated him like he was guilty right from the start taking the captaincy off him and then he is cleared (not conclusive or not he is still branded innocent). In some ways i think he has come out of this the bigger man, as i said he was cleared of a racist comment towards Anton he still then offers his hand to him when he didn't have too and he was then snubbed. The FA will ban him no doubt and this is because they have too, if they do not then Liverpool fans will feel unjust about Suarez's ban and the FA will look stupid for stripping his captaincy which led to Capello resigning.

He wasnt just cleared Carl. Sorry if this sounds like im having a go, but it needs to be made really clear. This is something carried by Terry and Chelsea fans, but its not quite the whole story. It was down to lack of evidence. The judge did not believe his sarcastic response, but said that it could not be proved otherwise. And sorry it doesn't matter if a court said it couldn't be proved, if you get abused, you are not going to want to shake that players hand, jury decision or not. Remember the decision wasnt about whether it happened, but whether it can be proved it happened.

The fact is, he shouldn't have said it, and the moment he did, it was a matter of time. FA were right to go after him.

A civil court, such as the Fa is only on balance of probabilty. It was always more than likely he didnt say sarcastically ( and lets be completely honest, how many of us actually believe he was being sarcastic?)

My view from day one on this as soon as he came out and said i am innocent and will clear my name if i need too was that he was innocent. Why??? Because he had a **** of a lot more to lose than Anton.

That doesnt mean he didn't say it. Just that he had to make sure it was not proved he did say it in that tone hence his defence that he said it sarcastically.

But that would be a massive risk on his part to think i reckon their will be a lack of evidence. He didn't know what evidence they had etc.

Hence the initial denial that he said anything at all, then the defence of sarcasm once the trial was underway.

Surely that's not true though otherwise that would have gone against him in court i.e changing his story. I'm pretty sure his story was the same throughout.

No he initially denied he said it, when the video first came to light. It probably did go against him in court, but the rest of the evidence was inconclusive. Remember he only needed to create reasonable doubt, not actually prove anything.

I don't really understand your logic?
Assuming he's guilty, what does he have to lose? He either admits he's guilty and then he would obviously been charged by the police and the FA or he denies it and might possible get away with it due to lack of evidence and a plausible alternate explanation.

Because he would have lied that's why. Not only would he be a racist (which he is called now and will be forever) but he would have been a liar too. Would have been banned from playing for the country ever again and a lengthly ban for Chelsea.
