Lost to the league champions. Better blame Rafa!

There is a massive difference between losing and being humiliated!

As I suspected people have took this far too seriously what i said and made it sound hugely worse. Where did i say he shouldn't rotate at all? All i am saying is these days it seems that he believed players cannot play 2 games in 3 days which is absolute bollocks. If you feel JT can only play 1 game in 3 days out of Prague at home or City away then you pick the most difficult one that's quite obvious! The Lampard/Mikel partnership was never going to work against City was it lets be honest? Ramires wide right is just not the answer either is it? I am just not buying this whole sports science bollocks, are we genuinely going down the route to believing that players cannot play twice in 3 days?

Another example of badly need rotation is our squad. Great start to the season. lack of transfer activity, same players nearly every match, unable to rotate due to lack of depth and there you go-we're starting to fade, our performances are becoming more erratic (today is a good example-controlled the match but couldn't apply the killing touch). In the rigours of the modern game, rotation is as vital regardless of how fit a player is-we all know it's not down to just to physical fitness but mental aswell. don't do it then there's an excellent chance of poor performances snowballing out of control thanks to poor squad management. Though the clubs that can't afford to rotate due to being broke are pretty much screwed through no fault of their own.

You think we controlled the match? Did we watch the same game mate?

If you want one example of why a lack of rotation doesn't work, look no further than Aston Villa under Martin O'Neill.

EVERY YEAR we'd play the same squad, the same 11 players and same 7 subs, and we'd fly up the table. Come Christmas, we'd be as high as second, and getting into the CL looked a done deal. And then you know what happened? It would all fall apart. Players couldn't press effectively, looked legged after 60 minutes, and were constantly in a state of semi burned out. We would crash in the league and fall to sixth, three consecutive times.

Not rotating is just retarded. And before someone gives me bollocks about 'excessive rotation', I did a little research a while ago, and there's a positive correlation between changes and league position, across all the top leagues. In other words, the more a manager rotates, the higher the club he's in charge of finishes. This holds roughly true for all the top leagues, but is especially relevant in the Prem; in other words, the league which has the most physically demanding football and most packed schedule.

Oh, and:

I would normally refuse to believe anyone is this retarded, but then again, this is the internet...

I never said not rotate at all did i? I said he didn't pick/save his best team for the right game. Why couldn't he have played Luiz and Cahill together against Prague if he thought JT couldn't play 2 games in 3 days and save JT for the tougher game? Why couldn't he have played Brana at right back or even Ferreira if need be if he thought Azpi couldn't play 2 games in 3 days?

Was referring to Everton v Norwich-but didn't make it clear enough. Thats what happens after a 13 hour Warcraft marathon I guess-your brain fries

Missus is looooong gone lol. Its just something I'll be doing once every few months at a weekend with a massive pile of junk food lol. Do my jobsearches daily etc then play-but marathons are defiately not regular. Would just burn out lol

sorry to hear that bud!

You hear that Lampard? You're making milions because of us fans! Dance monkey, dance!

Seriously though - Roger Federer can play 5 hours a day for a week. So clearly dem footbalers must just be lazy, rite?

But wait, but top boxers only fight for 30 minutes every few months. They must be the laziest people on the planet.

Or, maybe, just maybe, not every sport is the same. Federer doesn't have to travel during tournaments and plays no contact games. Boxers kind of get hit in the face a lot. Football is a contact game and this long in the season , the injuries are pilling up. If i had to take a guess, propably everybody either is injured, or just came out of injury. If you don't recover , your perfomance suffers, its really that simple.

Or to put it the other way , your cousin would propably land in hospital after one tackle from Toure, let alone 90 minutes of it. Every 3 days. For 9 months.

Also , what's wrong with Ramires wide? He is the Walcott of midifielders, the only thing he does exceptionally well, is run. Put him at any position where there's a lot of running, and its always the same gamble. When he is good its spectacular, when he is bad, its completely *****.

Jesus, 13 hours of warcraft + junk food, you'd better start looking for girls who like, eh, "extra large" men. That and a heart donor.

No need to bro-I'm blessed with a rather high metabalism. Anything I eat is pretty much burned away in the blink of an eye. I've had more kebabs I care to remember, pizza breakfasts, fry ups-salads-you name it. And I'm still literally just under 10 stone. Wouldn't like to be my heart though right now lol.

Besides, after the debacle that was the Norwich game it cheered me up going around killing stuff lol. And looking at next few fixtures I suspect I'll be playing a lot more at the weekend lo

So all of a sudden football from 5-10 years ago is so different to now days and footballers cannot play 2 games in 3 days? As i said i fully accept my cousins level is not the level of professionals but it is pretty high and it is not his normal day job unlike premier league footballers. I also fully accepted that someone like JT may struggle to play 180 minutes in 3 days but surely you save him for the tougher game? But Azpi and Moses (who has recently had a week off) should be able to play 180 minutes in 3 days don't you think?

Also on Ramires against a fullback with bags of pace i.e Clichy he becomes a huge hindrance to the side. He has played well on the right before (mainly last season) when it was new and sides wean't expecting it. Now they know his touch is pretty poor and all he will try and do is knock it past you and run onto it so they prepare for it. Unlike majority of fellow Chelsea fans i said days before the game that Lampard should not have started as i believe high tempo games which we need to constantly press is something he cannot to anymore so in that regard and in leaving out JT and Azpi i think he picked the wrong side.

It isn't about whether they're physically fit enough to play so many games, of course you could put them out there and they'd be able to play a game, it's about the level they perform at in those games and risk of injury. In the same way someone may be physically fit enough to complete a marathon, but their performance will drop off rapidly after a certain point.

And on JT, wouldn't you rather a fully fit defender play the tough game rather than one just returning from a lengthy lay off? Vidic is clearly United's best defender when on form and fit, but we rested him for the Madrid game.

No, especially when we have Cahill coming in. Easy to say as a United fan when Ferdinand is still class and Evans continues to improve.

JT has been fit for weeks now so that isn't the issue. If he was fit enough to play 90 minutes Thursday night then he would have been fit enough to play 90 minutes on Sunday instead with an extra 3 days rest. Every game i seem to be saying the same things, yes majority of the players are not doing it on the pitch but Rafa is also making key mistakes too which is not helping.

I have been doing a bit of looking ahead to the games we, Spurs and Arsenal have left in the league and predicting the results and see where it would leave us come the end of the season. Although it doesn't look for good reading i have based these games if Rafa was to stay in charge until the end of the season which is obviously the worst case scenario.

Chelsea to collect 17 more points = season total of 66 points =5th place
Arsenal to collect 23 more points = season total of 70 points =4th place
Spurs to collect 24 more points = season total of 75 points= 3rd place
