Do you guys think that Ashely Cole and John Terry will stay or leave?

I know Roman Abramovich and he really doesnt want to have the older palyers on his team but i think he might forget about that for Ashely Cole and John Terry like he did for Paulo Ferreira

Well Cole just signed a year extension so he is 100% staying and i can't see Jose flogging JT either. I suspect Paulo may be handed a coaching role at the club now.

He seems to have mellowed with age, hopefully being back in England means the old Jose is back. Spain took a lot out of him.

Mellowed with age?! He's been going mental in Spain!

Just watched the Jose interview on Chelsea TV and although he said a lot of good things i.e long term plan, bringing youth through and him being one of us one thing stuck out for me and it echoed what i had been saying about Rafa. "When i see tired players i say winning can produce miracles, winning can make you fit and wanting to play again and again". Then there is Rafa who will change 3,4,5 or even more players after a victory. Echoes my opinion that a manager who relies solely on sports science will eventually be found out. Cannot wait until pre-season!

Madrid is known to be more of a basket case job than Chelsea so i wouldn't read too much into it. Arbeloa's words said all i thought the other day

He certainly made it worse though. I watched a lot of La Liga. A lot was definitely avoidable.

I kind of agree and I kind of don't. You can't play 69 games with a double pivot consisting of two same players. Mourinho rotates too just not that much. 90% of Rafa's so called coaching is just plain rotation, though.

I agree Rafa did not have the best players to rotate especially in that pivot and would never fault him for things which wearn't his fault.

But for Arbeloa who is one of the Spanish lads to say that i think its says a lot of what really happened.

Rafa's rotation was quite specific, based on his sports scientists. He wouldnt have rotate as much as with a more balanced squad.

Ferguson rotated more than Rafa did btw. Easy to say Jose rotates less when he had much better squad depth

Arbeloa was one of his men though. You'd get a VERY different answer from Casillas for example. It really does fall halfway between the two.

Casillas was dropped because he was playing poorly and he handled it very very badly.

He wasnt playing that badly. Carl there was a lot more to this than form. A LOT more. This started well before he was playing badly.

Casillas was dropped as he was club captain and sided with Ramos when Mourinho was trying to make an example of Ramos by dropping him due to poor attitude/form. Mourinho was making the clear point that the dressing room would never have more power than he does over the direction of the team.

He tried to stamp his authority and they rebelled, there are reports that only a couple of players turned up to Essien's 30th b/day party strictly because Jose was there. If so then that is really poor form.

It was near-open rebellion. Certainly poor form, but he made it worse by going to war with the media.

Although now you understand why so many people had disdain about the way AVB was treated. It's the exact same kind of lack of respect. Poor from all players involved.

But how Jose dealt with the media was deliberately inflammatory. Sid Lowe covered it extremely well. He brought a lot of that on himself.

Ramos didnt like the style they played or the way Jose dealt with the press. And it was never the same after that.

What the same way which broke Barca's dominance by beating the points total in the league? Ramos is the one sounding like a **** then surely if that's the case.

Remember this Madrid, its not just about winning, but how.

Remember this is the same club who sacked Del Bosque, despite him being their most successful manager in recent times. And all because he didnt want Galaticos breaking up his title winning team...
