We need a Pastore/Pjanic not necessarily a Modric who is deep lying but AVB/Roman seems to want.
If we got a playmaker our midfield would have a lot of variety with Mikel/Essien in the defensive role, Lamps/Rambo a sort of box to box with -insert playmaker-/Yossi in the free'ish roles. Not to mention Josh with Malouda and Zhirkov possibly in the midfield. Also a lot of depth.
All that being said I can't see AVB bringing in 5/6 players to overhaul the squad, which he needs to do with FFP rules coming in next year (I think).

Good luck getting Anelka to leave. Already stated his intention to see out his contract and leave on a free next season. Some of the Chelsea seniors seem to think its an Old Boys club. Personally I'd be warning them to shape up or spend the season on the bench

Would prefer Chelsea made moves for Muniz/Jimenez from the Spanish U-19 team than Romeu to be honest.
Romeu is like a poorer version of Botia in my opinion, I hope I'm wrong but 5 million euros could get you...I dunno...COATES.
FFS, I'm banging my head against a virtual brick wall I know but COATES would cost like 3-4 million from Nacional AND he's captained his team for 2 seasons at the age of 20 AND he's got a mature head on him.
I had to caps up on this because it's just ridiculous that Chelsea are paying 5 million for this kid, Barce are rubbing their hands with joy on this one.
Botia is the guy Prermiership teams should sign, even now at Sporting they should sign him he's an absolute powerhouse of a player.
If anyone has AVB just ring him up, tell him to buy SEBASTIEN COATES before Juve grab him and in 4 years time when he's worth 20 million and Chelsea go in for him just know this Gourlay/Emenalo...I will say ''I TOLD YOU SO''.

he has to understand he has to buy immediately, before its too late. i mean we are not the only club searching for players.
i mean he may be a good coach, tactician and everything, but with this current squad we have no bright future.

Agree with that bit, but I'm happy to give AVB a couple of weeks yet until we start getting some new players. And with the targets we have atm I'm happy to wait until then and maybe they'll realise we should be looking at other players ahead of Modric. I can't really judge their performances because I haven't been able to watch any of the games, but I will see how they play on Sunday and then say how I think we are performing.
read your last post.... you are basically questioning his methods. He wants t see what the side can do fully and evaluate them for himself over the tour, then aggressively move in the market.
