Sounds promising...
@BluesChronicle Dan Levene - Just had my first chat with Oriol Romeu. Nice lad. Hugely promising player. Claimed his English wasn't very good - sounded fine to me.
Apparently according to the Lille Academy director, we have been the club that has been following Eden Hazard the closest... would be a excellent signing in my opinion, him or Gotze would give the team that much more unpredictibality and creativity...
Interested that both AVB and Guardiola have regarded Romeu as an amazing talent, yet Barca sold him on.
They've got a buy-back option so it really wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they went on to buy him back next summer.
Barry is England's first choice CM and Heskey was first choice striker. That doesn't mean they are the best. On current form Baines and Enrique are ahead of Cole.
At the World Cup, it was fairly clear to EVERYONE that Joe Hart was the best English keeper around, yet wasn't first choice goalkeeper. It may be inexperience that is keeping Leighton Baines out of the English side, maybe Capello still wants some of the old guard still in the team as a wise-head. But I think using the argument of 'first choice left back for England' is bit of a flawed one.
I believe we have an option to buy out the buy out clause.
Whatever happens, both parties got a great deal.
- If he turns out to be brilliant and Barca buy him then we've had great cover for Essien, made a profit and they get a DM with PL experience back.
- If he turns out to be brilliant and we keep him, then we've got a great player for a good amount.
- If he turns out to be brilliant and we evoke his buyout clause we get a player that is good enough to get into that Barca team and they get a nice tidy sum.
No way is Barry Englands number 1 choice CM!!! When all fit its Wilshere, even Parker is ahead of him now.
Its not for me, Capello of recent times has added a new dimension of youngsters to the side but kept Cole in and that says everything to me.
For me its a win-win-win for Chelsea
Fantastic result and performance for us, all i keep hearing is look at the team you are playing bla bla bla. It wasen't the opponents but it was the quality of Torres's finishes yesterday and his movement was brilliant. Thought the whole team tried too hard to get him his hat-trick in the 2nd half and Genk saw that and it made their job easier but all in all a great performance. Oriol was brilliant once again, absolutely solid and a PL start is not too far away for the lad without a doubt.

Looked like the Torres of old. Happy for him, though there will be an almight FFFFUUUUUU if he scores against us. Like loads of people have been saying, be patient with him and he'll come good, and he's repaid that faith. Hopefully see more of the same.
Neatly avoided the 'If he turns out to be ****' option, there.![]()
I am suprised that hardly anyone has talked about Oriol Romeu, he can easily be one of the best midfield players in the world as according to Barcelona coaches him and Thiago were the future and AVB calles him the 'midfielder with the greatest potential there is'
