AM I the only one who thinks that Luiz can be a BRILLIANT holding midfielder?????????????

Romeu looks composed, clueless as to what to do in the final third but he looks good. Torres is, well he looks like himself and Lampard is being bullied by the destroyer Vanden Borre. Good half of football.

Nah, a lot of people have been saying this. I'd actually quite like to see him play at right back for a bit, if he can cross he'd be immense there.

I would of been happy with just a good performance from Torres tonight without a goal or assist but he already has 2 goals with only 45 mins played :D! Would love him to grab his first hat trick in blue.

No, everybody's always posting that, as I'm sure you're aware. I'd much rather he played CB, but I can't be bothered going into the reasons for that because I'm pretty sure I've done it a few times before.

It's a weak rival so I wouldn't go as far as to say Torres is back, but if he can bag another goal to complete his hattrick it'll do wonders for his confidence and probably help him regain his form in the PL. Glad for him, he's had a rough time since he moved to Chelsea.

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRESSSSSSSSSSSSS :)

man hes ****** brilliant :)

gutted he didnt complete the hattrick.

good win, next victim: QPR

Sounds promising...

@BluesChronicle Dan Levene - Just had my first chat with Oriol Romeu. Nice lad. Hugely promising player. Claimed his English wasn't very good - sounded fine to me.

I am suprised that hardly anyone has talked about Oriol Romeu, he can easily be one of the best midfield players in the world as according to Barcelona coaches him and Thiago were the future and AVB calles him the 'midfielder with the greatest potential there is'

Was exciting to see him in the Genk game he is so young and he is already very good... his positioning and his determination is top notch

Apparently according to the Lille Academy director, we have been the club that has been following Eden Hazard the closest... would be a excellent signing in my opinion, him or Gotze would give the team that much more unpredictibality and creativity along with Juan Mata and both of them will fit in well with AVB's philosophy, maybe Malouda can be exchanged in the deal to reduce costs

Interested that both AVB and Guardiola have regarded Romeu as an amazing talent, yet Barca sold him on.

They've got a buy-back option so it really wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they went on to buy him back next summer.

not only that, even though Oriol was injured for most of last season, Pepe still handed Oriol his Barcelona first-team debut which is very impressive considering that very few EPL players will ever get into Barca's first-team, Pepe sold him on so that he could get valuable experience and be given an opportunity to prove himself similar to the Bojan transfer, would not suprise me too if they came back for him although we can still keep him as long as we shell out 20m still if he is as good as they say, I have no problem doing that

Bright Future at the Bridge: Lucas Piazon

He certainly does not lack in confidence this young man and its good to see him forming relationships with Lukaku and McEachran, It would be a massive boost that when these 3 break through, as a result of having played years together they know their movements inside out etc. Teams such as Barcelona and Man Utd have been successful in doing just that and I really hope something similar happens at Chelsea one day with these 3

Ramires lauds Andre-Villas Boas

Already earned his first plaudits from his players, AVB :)

I believe we have an option to buy out the buy out clause.

Whatever happens, both parties got a great deal.

- If he turns out to be brilliant and Barca buy him then we've had great cover for Essien, made a profit and they get a DM with PL experience back.
- If he turns out to be brilliant and we keep him, then we've got a great player for a good amount.
- If he turns out to be brilliant and we evoke his buyout clause we get a player that is good enough to get into that Barca team and they get a nice tidy sum.

Barry is England's first choice CM and Heskey was first choice striker. That doesn't mean they are the best. On current form Baines and Enrique are ahead of Cole.

No way is Barry Englands number 1 choice CM!!! When all fit its Wilshere, even Parker is ahead of him now.

At the World Cup, it was fairly clear to EVERYONE that Joe Hart was the best English keeper around, yet wasn't first choice goalkeeper. It may be inexperience that is keeping Leighton Baines out of the English side, maybe Capello still wants some of the old guard still in the team as a wise-head. But I think using the argument of 'first choice left back for England' is bit of a flawed one.

Its not for me, Capello of recent times has added a new dimension of youngsters to the side but kept Cole in and that says everything to me.

I believe we have an option to buy out the buy out clause.

For me its a win-win-win for Chelsea

Fantastic result and performance for us, all i keep hearing is look at the team you are playing bla bla bla. It wasen't the opponents but it was the quality of Torres's finishes yesterday and his movement was brilliant. Thought the whole team tried too hard to get him his hat-trick in the 2nd half and Genk saw that and it made their job easier but all in all a great performance. Oriol was brilliant once again, absolutely solid and a PL start is not too far away for the lad without a doubt.

Also i would like to add these stats from yesterday. Oriol Romeu's passing percentage was 96.7% (89/92) passes completed, 5 tackles won, and 5 interceptions. And completed 18/18 in attacking final third passes. That's unreal!

Looked like the Torres of old. Happy for him, though there will be an almight FFFFUUUUUU if he scores against us. Like loads of people have been saying, be patient with him and he'll come good, and he's repaid that faith. Hopefully see more of the same.

Neatly avoided the 'If he turns out to be ****' option, there. ;)

Glen Hoddle touched on a point too which i actually said would happen before he moved to Chelsea. I said playing in a physicly tough side like Chelsea will toughen him up more and he looks alot stronger and more hench.

Yeah, not many have mentioned him so far. But, he's done what I expected, and I'm very happy we got him. Good to see that his English is okay though, which was what I was pointing out with that quote, but yeah seems quite a lot have just forgotten about him with the signings of Mata and Lukaku...I'm sure they won't now though.
