Kevin De Bruyne hoping for Chelsea Talks

He still looks some way off playing in our first-team but I say that if he is so enthusiastic of joining us, we should take him... he is only going to improve with us and he can easily form good relationships with our other youth players by playing in the reserves

everytime I listen to AVB speak, im getting more and more convinced that we have an extraordinary, immensely intelligent manager. Bow to him.

Romeu living Chelsea Dream

Its good to see him happy in his new surruondings, he is so calm in possesion its really extraordinary because he is so young and is just another star in the making from the conveyor belt of La Masia.... really hope he does well for us

There is a real feel-good factor around the Bridge now, lets hope we can continue this and grind out positive results so we can keep pace and hopefully overtake the Manchester Clubs in the race for the title, their aura of invincibility has long since been shed with their shaky performances and now is our chance to overtake them

AVB a fan of twitter, and Joey Barton.

Chelsea FC website interview -

'Joey Barton is one the strong characters of the game,' Villas-Boas observes.
'He has strong charisma and personality and he is a person who is not afraid to say what he thinks, and I also think he is a pretty good footballer. I like his qualities.
'Independent from football, not all of us share his opinion and his views but that is normal day-to-day life.
'Nothing that Joey has to say or what we say about him is going to play a part in Sunday's game.'
Normal life for many in 2011 includes the prodigious use of social media and Villas-Boas appreciates the role it plays.
'I believe Twitter and Facebook are social tools and should be used as social tools,' he says.
'I see no problems with our players using Twitter as a social tool. I don't think it should be used as a tool that affects your professional way of life, and this would include commenting on whatever happens in your professional life. In football whatever happens is not just yours, it involves an entire group of players so it is unfair if you do that.

'But as a social tool it is excellent which is why it is so popular. Twitter has grown immensely in the last couple of years but that does not mean it is a tool that all the players will use at Chelsea. A couple of the guys here use it and they know the kind of power it has.
'We think of it as a communication vehicle and it has to be put in the same category as dealing with the media.'
There is no use of modern communication technology by Villas-Boas when it comes to informing his players of his team choices. He instead relies on face-to-face talking and considers selecting the 11 to play as the hardest part of his job.
'When they are at this level and with this quality it always gives you the sensation that you are treating some of them unfairly.
'When you are winning, all of your ideas sell better and the players are able to buy them and this is normal day-to-day management, but also the players are involved in decision making under my leadership, because I can only allow myself two-way leadership, that is the way I run my business.
'I try to talk to them. Every decision has a reason and an explanation and I try to be as coherent as I can, as difficult as the decisions may be.'

Interesting take on social media from AVB, seems like he encourages it as a way of communicating with fans and allowing the players to build their own personality within the club.

As for McEachran getting no chances, I'd like to say he has done something so impressive under Ancelotti he deserves a chance outright but I have to say I'm in the camp of 'let him go on loan for 6 months' rather than 'give him 3 League Cup games and a couple of sub appearances over the season'.

There will be a reason, probably a good one, as to why he isn't playing. Romeu is a better defensive midfielder in my opinion so I don't buy into it's a straight fight between Romeu and McEachran I think in a 4-2-3-1 McEachran's spot is currently Meireles'.

McEachran should go on loan, but we better put in a clause that allows us to recall him in case Lamps or Meirless get injured.... a loan would do wonders for him and his confidence and who better to play under than Brendan Rodgers, a manager who already knows how to get the best out of Josh

He should have gone from the start, i did say this before the season kicked off. And swansea play the right kind of football too

yea he should have.. plus Brendan Rodgers knows him well so thats an added bonus and if he can do as well on his loan as Dan. well you can see how high Dan is flying now

1-0 down. :/

Luiz giving away an unnecessary, stupid penalty.

Bosingwa sent off...

Drogba sent off. .___________________________________________________________________.

I've been saying for months, when people say 'drop Torres for Drogba' etc. Drogba is past it, especially to play AVB's system. He never looks to run in behind he always wants to come deep and pick up in front of the CB's.

Mata's got literally nothing to work with and he doesn't like running in behind, it does not take a tactical genius to see the entire system AVB has created is flawed when Drogba plays.

I would have offloaded him in the summer personally, as for Sturridge coming off for Iva I was glad because all Sturridge was doing was running around like a CAM and offering nothing for Bosingwa.

If Chelsea win this, AVB deserves a knighthood.

Mikel's trying his best but everything I've seen is down to how poor Drogba is. He's been half hearted in coming deep and not once tried to run behind meaning the LW/RW have had to get on the shoulder stretching the Chelsea lines leaving Mikel/Meireles no where to go with a pass.

I've writ this game off, I just hope Didier never plays again and gets sold in January. I can hope, I appreciate what he has done but he's struggled for a year and he needs to move on. He should go and retire in France or Italy because he just is no good for this system.

It comes to something when the only player Chelsea have running in behind for the through ball is Lampard.

Mata off for Anelka???

Did Mata pick up a knock or something?

They need a central striker on the pitch, you cant play with Mata as the lone striker.

Without a central striker it just makes it even harder to get width.

This time last year Drogba was my fav player now ATM I cant stand him. I wouldmof subbed him off instead of Sturridge personally. Also this ref is a ******* **** take.

what the **** was didi thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

****!

For an experienced player to do what Drogba did is unacceptable and selfish. If Chelsea somehow win this, it will be unbelievable.

Why is Drogba ahead of Anelka in the pecking order? Anelka has been playing well recently, whereas Drogba has been near enough useless recently and doesn't fit into the system at all.

2 Chelsea players who have royally messed up so far this season, Drogba and Kalou.

I need say no more, anyone who thinks them 2 players are good enough to start and play in this new Chelsea team is... crazy.

AVB has tried to clear out the people who failed Ancelotti so badly, yet somehow those 2 players are still messing up.

I think a smarter move from AVB would have been to start Anelka as the central striker with Sturridge and Mata wide, I think that would have helped the team immensely and possibly we wouldn't be in a situation we are now.
