Holy **** what a ball from Mata, dipped beautifully right onto Drogba's head.

YES! Nice goal from Didier, but the ball from Mata made the goal. Drogba has looked poor despite getting a goal.

This feels like a game for Torres. Sturridge and Mata have both been showing how vulnerable that Newcastle back line is when you run at them, if Torres can bring some tricky movement and dribbling with him, I think there's a goal just waiting there for him, especially with how lethal Mata is looking today.

Superb from Mata, Sturridge should have scored at least 3, Romeu=Godlike, and again poor Luiz at CB :)

Not Mata :( I suppose he needs to be ready for Valencia though...

AVB, please take Drogba off.

If Kalou thinks he's too good for Olympiakos? Well I'm sure Bendtner felt the same about Sunderland a year ago...

I would not be bothered, in the slightest fashion, if Chelsea just released him on a free tomorrow.

As for Drogba over Torres again, I don't understand that decision short term/long term it just doesn't benefit the club at all. The cynic in me thinks it's part of the contract negotiations going on between Drogba/the club, but I'm sure AVB has his technical playing reasons...

I just don't see or understand them at all.

Was reading that Drogba would reject the contract offer-or is that just hearsay?

Well Chelsea's stance is basically 'you are a lot older, take a paycut' which is quite fair considering he's on upwards of £140k a week (Torres is on around £30-40k more) and given his age he does need to take a cut or leave.

Drogba is being smart, he plays up Marseille but like most footballers he wants to be in the limelight with the biggest wage. Milan have the best chance in January to sign him, they'll offer upwards of £105k, and as long as they pay a fee of £9 million+ I would pack his bags myself.

The last thing Chelsea need in their team right now is Drogba/Malouda/Kalou, it's just slowing the transition.

Anelka/Kalou's contracts, thankfully, are being allowed to run down and they should as things stand be gone in January/the summer.

He didn't say that, did he? I thought he said that he doesn't want a move to Greece.

I think he said he's not interested in Greece, I read that as the league/team standard more than I read into it about the country itself but either one of us could be right I suppose. ''Olympiakos were interested but I'm not interested in Greece. I want to play more and more.''

He's just gotten far too cosy in London like a lot of other Chelsea players and it's just excess baggage for AVB to carry around with him.
