Kos is a better defender than Luiz right now. He actually knows how to defend on a consistent basis

Never said Luiz knew how to defend or he was a good defender(right now), but I would put at least 10 CB's before Koscielny on the list. The whole Stoke team are better defenders than Koscielny, please.

They're not.

The whole Stoke team? seriously? I have started this by mentioning Koscielny in the first place :S

I am hopeful AVB has realised that scrapping the high line is the right thing to do. Didnt play it against Valencia or Newcastle and scrapped it during the game against City and look what it done for us.
he needs to, Cavani will eat them alive otherwise

Kos makes more tackles than any of their central defenders. Should probably check your facts rather than randomly throwing out points, Mr Grant

****.. those statistics. I forgot we judge how good a player is by numbers.

In that case, Torres is the worst striker worldwide, probably?

hahah, pathetic, really. not bothering anymore about this matter.

You actually made your stuff up. he is a better defender, and actually you can get a good picture of a player by numbers, even Torres. His stats show that he is largely doing all the right things apart from scoring. Which is exactly what is happening. right now Good player, Poor Scorer. Try and keep up

Where are you getting your stats from Mike? I've started using WhoScored a lot more recently but they don't have that much detail on individuals.

Whoscored, msnbc, epsn soccernet, guardian chalkboards. They all give information on slightly different areas so you can build up a good picture.

You should get a good amount from Whoscored though, what are you looking for?

of course.
**** press.

predictions lads?
im literally hoping for any type of win just to build the momentum, and a torres goal wouldnt hurt.

Chelsea have scored 15 goals in the last 3 games against Wigan without reply.. XD And people who have a goal drought always score against us. If Wigan score I'll be happy!

No offence to your side but Wigan is a game I look forward to as I expect an easy win and alot of goals but that only makes the defeat feel worse if Wigan get the win like back in the 09/10 season when we won our first 7 games I thought surely We will beat Wigan but you won 3-1 and it was a horrible shock :P

Barkley has signed a new deal.

I dont know why im writing this here, as Im the only one who expected a bid for him in January :)

Not sure about that, if there is one side equipped to rip apart Chelsea's high line its Napoli

But we have a plan B which is working against the better sides and i would hope AVB would have learnt this properly come February. City i think were very ds-respectful when they played Napoli, it was like they thought we have enough to beat them and not worry about their strenghs and it proved the wrong way to think. Over two legs im confident we will see them off, 1-2 in the away leg and 2-0 at the Bridge.

Wigan have been a nice side for us to play in recent times so i will go for a 3-1 win.

Quite disappointed with the line-up, but oh well - I cannot be bothered going through it again, still though, I see an easy win.

Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry Cole; Romeu, Lampard, Meireles; Sturridge, Drogba, Mata

But, anyway, seems that Kakuta might be going on loan to Dijon for the second half of the season - at least he'll get games, shame it won't give him PL experience though.

I dont see anything wrong with the squad, Ramires is a yellow card away from a suspension and we need him more Thursday than we do today.

I think he's looking at Torres here, and I could agree - this is a game Chelsea should win comfortably and Torres could get one or two goals.

But we cant get complacent and just assume Torres is bound to score because its Wigan. Lets make sure we are winning the game and then give him minutes. I agree he needs to start games but at the moment Drogba is playing well and we are winning and the team winning matches is more important than giving Torres minutes.
