This made me laugh.

Bolton's 2011-12 team video should be titled 'Just What Your Team Needed' and marketed to fans of all other 19 teams."

Lampard. 3-0

See for me this is the eternal problem with Lampard, hes effectively a striker playing in midfield, nothing wrong with getting goals, but he really doesnt contribute much else in the centre of the pitch

Wont be a 'sold out' in Liverpool :p

New in stores: The Bolton 2011/12 season, special Liverpool FC edition!

After receiving guidance from a small potted shrub, Kenny Dalglish began to watch every game of Bolton's season so far, realising that there had to be some explanation for their terrible form, that no team could be that poor without some sort of supernatural force at work. He uncovered a conspiracy so shocking that it would bring the world of Football to its knees. By averaging the number of goals scored, multiplying it by the number of minutes of extra time, multiplying that by the square root of the number of substitutes used and subtracting the number of days until the 3rd tuesday of the month and then dividing it by crowd attendance he came to an unbelievable set of results, a pattern of numbers that would change everything.

19-21-1-18-5-26 9-19 9-14-14-15-3-5-14-20

For days, Dalglish and a top team of paranoid scousers tried to interpret the message, cross referencing it with the Da Vinci Code, Milton's Paradise Lost and even the ochestral score to the Fields of Anthry. Finally, in the early hours of Saturday morning, King Kenny found the message, the message that God had hidden in the results of Bolton, confident that his chosen upon Earth would uncover the meaning and bring justice to the greatest crime of the century. The cipher was simple: the numbers each corresponded to a letter of the alphabet.

19-21-1-18-5-26 9-19 9-14-14-15-3-5-14-20

When the club apologises... (it did make sense to bring it up in the context though^^)

Fairly uninspiring win despite the 3 goals and Sturridge was pretty anonymous but it's the kind of game that we have to grind out to keep us in contention.

Christ sake, let the Suarez-gate die please. This is a Chelsea thread too for goodness sake.

Oh God, it was a joke between myself and Sunil, let's not derail the thread arguing over the whole blasted thing again.

-edit-
Added spoiler tags to save the grief for everyone.

Wow people do like to complain, seen people happy to make jokes in Liverpool's favour about it on the Liverpool thread

People are saying that this the lineup we should have used on Wednesday. Thoughts on that?

That was my first reaction but I'm trying to work out whether or not a 4-3-3 would have countered Napoli better than 4-2-3-1. On the one hand Mata gets pushed out wide in the former but on the other hand we would have had a dedicated DM sweeping up infront of the backline.

The problem I have with either of those formations is linked to what Ramires said earlier in the season: AVB gives him much more freedom than Carlo. That's great when he's haring forwards and getting goals but he needs to remember that in both the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-3-3, he has defensive duties. On Wednesday he and Meireles were getting up the pitch at the same time and it caused us no end of grief. I know the situation can be temporarily fixed by putting Essien as a dedicated holder and Ramires as an attacker but if you look at what AVB has said about his long term philosophy, he clearly wants a fluid double pivot and Ramires has got to be a lot more aware of his partner.

Solution to Chelsea's striker problems can be found more closer than first thought; David Luiz

Won alot of tackles in midfield today, so harsh.

Lampard won 0 tackles and 2 interceptions. Ramires won 6 tackles and 2 interceptions.

From the starting 11 only Lampard and Mata failed to win any tackles.

Lampard got a goal, an assist, 2 dribbles, 2 interceptions, 2 clearances, 2 shots (Both on target), 5 key passes, 11 crosses (5 successful) and an 83% passing accuracy.

Ramires has to learn the discipline regardless of what formation, though he can be helped by having Essien alongside him.

Interceptions to me are a type of tackle, winning the ball back. And he definatly won atleast one tackle in the first half which led to a chance because it was right near me.
