Againt Napoli I would go with this line-up.

GK: Cech
LB: A.Cole
CB: John Terry
CB: Gary Cahill
RB: Ivanovic
DM: Essien
MC: Lampard
MC: Ramires
LW: Juan Mata
RW: Daniel Sturridge
ST: Didier Drogba

A standard 4-3-3 formation. I just really want Bosingwa and Meirless far away from the first-team for this game and to a slightly lesser extent, Luiz.

Personally for me, I would tell the players to stay deep and let Napoli take the initiative and trust in their own abilities to hit Napoli on the counter. It would be relying on the pace of Ramires, Sturridge and Juan Mata to lead the counter.

I know that with Ramires and Lampard both playing, we might be caught if Napoli counter but we have to trust in Essien to break up these sort of things and lets face it, our next best option is Meirless.

Also the fact that Lampard has more chance of hitting the back of net. I really dont mind playing Torres except Didier looks more likely to get the goals we need. Also Iva at RB any day, he might lack the pace of Bosingwa but he is a decent attacker and a fantastic defender.

Exactly the team I would choose. Our strongest team. David Luis is too unpredictable for a game of this magnitude. Great to see the Gary Cahill / JT partnership work against Stoke. I think it's the ideal CB partnership for the Euros! Also nice to see 5 English Players in the first eleven

Drogba and Terry back Jose return

Hardly suprising to be honest. Say what you want about Jose but their is no denying he is one of the greatest managers in the world and most Chelsea fans would welcome him back with open arms.

I still feel he is the only man who really could manage us. After he left, no other manager really had any sort of sustained success with us because they would be overshadowed by the extraordinary legacy he left behind.

What Roman should do is to hire Jose and give him the sort of control SAF is given at Manchester United. I know it is wishful thinking but if Roman does that, I guarntee we will be European Champions in the next 5 seasons.

Are you joking, CL within five seasons? When Roman first came in and opened his cheque-book, he practically said that was what he required from his coaches and it never happened. You somehow think bringing Jose back is going to guarantee a champions league title considering the strength of the Spanish giants, Financial Fair Play rules constraining massive spending, and the resurgence of Man City and Spurs making the league more competitive. Plus, from Jose's point of view, he'd be moving from a brilliant Madrid squad to inherit a squad well past its best? Likely he'd be the replacement in the future, although I think he'd be much better served as a replacement for SAF after he retires.

I'm going to come across as I wind up merrchant, but I reckon José would be much more enticed by United or Spurs, hate to tell you lot but they are projects with much more potential than Chelsea.

You cant guarantee that. He had plenty of money before, and still didnt get anywhere. Its not about control, its about vision.

He isn't the only man that can manage you, not by a long shot. Chelsea fans massively over-romanticise Jose.

I have absolutely no interest in Jose becoming Manchester United manager.

I think he'd be perfect for you. But I also think the only way Fergie is leaving United will be in a box.

I would like to post a quote Mike. made on the Everton thread which sums up who he'd rather have.

"Moyes is ours!"

'Nuff said

he doesnt think 3 years ahead like SAF does. That's why we have title winning after title winning team.

A club that up until 97 didn't even get to many finals and this man is the most successful manager in this clubs history. A club of which most long term fans never thought we would ever play CL football let alone win trophies on a regular basis. So we have every right to love the man and think more of him than others.

I will always romanticize Jose, he is our number one alongside Carlo.. I think I love them equally. Wonder who will be the next one on my list :)

Still isnt the only man that can manage you, which was my point. Never said you couldnt love him, but you massively over romanticise him.

When a manager has arguably written your history, you most definitely romanticize and even over-romanticize him at times. Like you are obsessed with SAF, and you love him and always will. So, dont see the problem :) He is our special one, saf is yours.

Again, still isnt the only one who can manage you. And you wont find me over-romaticising SAF, because i dont go around claiming he is the only one who can manage United.

No one is saying he is the only man for the job but he is clearly going to be majority of the fans favourite because of what he done for this football club. This is a man that has the media eating from the palm of his hand so imagine what he does to the supports of the club he is managing.

That doesnt mean much, the media are idiots in general. Alcaraz was saying he was the only man for the job. Chelsea should be looking at Unai Emery, Valencia fans have ridiculously been turning on him, and he looks set to leave this summer.
