Is Feruz going to be our first teamer soon? :) The lad looks amazing on the pitch.

I think we'll see him play at some point next year. Won't be a first teamer for a while though, but I think when he's 18 going on 19 we should expect him to be on the bench quite a lot, and coming on making an impact. Hopefully next year he can make his debut, could see him pre-season too, depends how big the squad is though, I suppose.

Anyone else think Nathan Ake looks like a young Ruud Gullit?

You mean 'looks', as in the way he looks? Or 'looks' as in the way he plays? Definitely has a look of him, and they do share a couple of similar attributes, most notably their calmness on the ball. But, I see Gullit as a totally different players, but Aké is a player who is technically good, especially for a CB.

I mean the way he looks lol Nathan has a kind of similar face to Ruud and they both have the same sort of skin tone and He has the hairstyle Ruud used to have back in the day. Also both are Dutch.

In that case, yes, I definitely agree.

Well, by 'soon' I meant in couple of years ofc :) Its too early for him, but he's better than Lukaku(at this point) I think, and deserves to replace him on the bench :)

What o_O? I think both will be very good players, but ATM Lukaku is ahead of Feruz in development, which I'd expect seeming there's a 2 year difference.

Apparently Valencia have ruled themselves out of signing vdW because they aren't willing to pay what Ajax want. Maybe we'll look at him again. I'd have him; this year he's been out a while with an injury, but he's proved that he's a good player, and he still has time to improve himself. I'd go for either vdW or Azpilicueta definitely this summer, and then rotate with Brana. Obviously there are others I would take, but those two would probably be top of my (realistic) list. Diekmeier is also someone I'd consider, but I feel he needs to carry on for a couple more seasons playing every week before being ready for a big move, still has a way to go to reach his potential. There's also Debuchy who is proving himself as a good right back; I watch him every week with Lille and I think he would do well for us. I'd probably lean more towards vdW/Azpi though, mostly because of them being younger, but at 26 Debuchy is a very good age.

Great performance from the Baby Blues against Manchester United.

We were wasteful in front of goal in the first we could have sealed the game. That said, Manchester United really stepped up their game in the second half and got a deserved equalizer. Piazon bossed the game in the first 20 minutes but after that he was drifitng in and out. His assist for Amine Affane's goal was awesome though

Feruz was magical. He was forever causing the Manchester United defence problems and his goal was truly something special. The lad has a rucksack full of potential. Nathaniel Chalobah is more suited to his midifield role than he is at the heart of the defence. Showed some exceptional passing skills.

Think Adam Nditi is the weak link in our team. He did not have a good performance and he was terrible vs Nottingham Forest as well. This is quite surprising as I remember AVB saying that Adam was one of the most talented youth players we had. Up their with the likes of Piazon and Ake. I think AVB was misquoted because Nditi did not look the part at all.

We have the advantage going into the second leg now. Hopefully we can negotiate it safely and reach another FA Youth Cup Final

I agree with you on the Lukaku part. Lukaku and Feruz are two very different players and both of them can go on to became extremely good players as well. It will be interesting to see how we handle Feruz's development. My gut feeling is he will be playing mostly Reserve Football and NEXTGEN series next season before a loan move when he turns 18.

Feruz is only 16 so its of paramount importance that we handle his development properly and not rush him.

Lukaku is a shoo in for a loan move next season particularly if Drogba stays. My choice for him would be Stoke City. Their style of football suits him and he will have a realistic chance of playing at the club.

As for the likes of Piazon and Ake, not sure how the club will go about handling them. I would send them on loan as well because despite their impressive performances, they still have some way to go before they can challenge for a spot on our first-team particularly if we bring in high calibre players such as Willian and Hazard this summer.

Both of them are already doing well at the Reserve level so a loan move is the next logical step for them

Nathaniel Chalobah is another enigma. He has been playing Reserve Football this season so either a loan move or another season of Reserve Football and a couple of Carling Cup sub apps.

I am hoping Vitesse get into Europa League next season because it will be a great opportunity for us to send our youngsters there so they can get high-calibre European Competitions experience.

I think Feruz controls the ball better, his movement is better. Lukaku showed awful touch when was given chances this season. But obviously, im the only one who saw that.

Lukaku will be/has the potential of being a great striker.

Agree a bit on Nditi; he didn't have his best of games yesterday, but he's he a lot better than he showed. Not sure I agree with AVB as him being one of our best youth players though.

I wouldn't not want him going to Stoke; while I agree that he would suit them and would be played, he needs to be playing in a team that don't play hoof ball, so that we can make him a more complete player. At Anderlecht they hoofed it up to him, and that's why, for where he is in development, that technical ability isn't as good as his physical. But I believe that he can definitely improve into an all-rounded player, and this season, despite him hardly playing, his technical ability has improved because we have been focusing on it in training. Everton are apparently most likely to get him, which would do him good I think.

Definitely agree on Vitesse getting in Europe.

Did not know Everton were interested in him. If that is the case then he should definitely be going there. I feel much better if we put him under the care of a manager like David Moyes under whom he will improve tremendously no doubt

Another thing, Kalas has been fantastic for Vitesse this season and is one of the main reasons Vitesse are challenging for a European spot. He should be given regular PLM games next season for the senior squad according to me. Kalas, Luiz, Terry and Cahill should form our CBs next season.

The only thing we are missing in defence is a young RB to rotate with Ivanovic. Bosingwa for all his attacking instincts is too shoddy defensively and is getting on so he should be sold.

I do not think we need to reinforcethe LB spot. Betrand has been impressive when called upon and deserves a chance to show his ability with an extended run of games for us. Plus we have PVA who is also doing well for Vitesse athough PVA could not break into the Wigan first-team this season, he still has got lots of potential so he does deserve a second chance.

We also need a left winger to allow Mata to shift to the centre in a 4-2-3-1. That has been the case since the start of the season and hopefully we do buy one this summer. Although a new manager may come in who has different plans on how to play the team and he may change the formation etc.

STURRIDGE IS A ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a selfish mug! I cant stand him anymore.
