Heard the fee is between 6m and 8m Euros

Indeed. For that price I can't see why it's a gamble.

Funny how Mike was banging on about Chelsea not planning for the future then the next day Malouda's replacement is signed ;)

Indeed. One only has to look at the number of Youth Players Michael Emeleano has brought in this season. Obviously if we want our players to realise their potential we need a manager to stay at the club for 5-6 seasons and we are struggling to find that man but I hope we give that job to Di Matteo

Most people forget that Di Matteo also like to play open, expansive attacking football.. The only thing is that he has enough sense to realize which squads he can play that type of game with. With the players we are bringing in, it is fairly obvious that is the type of football we are moving towards anyways.

Also Kevin De Bruyne will be missing Genk's last 4 games due to a broken toe meaning that he has already played his last game for the Belgian outfit and will likely be coming to London to begin his treatment and get to know his new surroundings

Hopefully we get to see him in a blue shirt during pre-season before he is shipped off for a loan deal

He gonna have to bulk up a bit to cope with the physicality of the Premier League, bit of a gamble in my opinion.

What like Mata has had too? The good players can adapt, Mata has not needed to bulk up.

To be fair so did Cahill.

He's a gamble but hes still better than Malouda and Kalou. He's also younger for all that say the squads too old!

Spot on mate, Malouda out and i'll be really happy.

Great signing from Chelsea and totally out of the blue which just echo's my statement from earlier this season that we seem to be able to keep things from the media these days. Signs that we are moving forward and planning for the future which is encouraging, now lets hope the papers aren't correct with their stories about him wanting Pep.

So epic lol.

Emeleano has done a fine job this season. Still remember how all of us were griping about him being appointed but he has really brought some quality talent through the door in this club.

Cant say how happy I am with the Marin Signing. He is the sort of player we have been crying out for this season.

Quick, Agile, Creative. Immense technical abilities and flair. He is extremely versatile and provides an excellent foil for Juan Mata and will also allow us to give Mata some much needed rest next season because he can adopt the #10 role. He has had a poor season but that was because he was mostly sidelined with injury.

Did I mention he is only 23 years old and we paid under 10m euro's for him :D

Only issue is that his attitude hugely stinks. Carl, think you brought up Marin last year.

A lot of these young lads were already at the club to be fair thanks to Arnesen. The constant changing of managers has hurt our acadamy players more than anyone else.

I did bring him up yer (see i know stuff about football lol), i know he has a poor attitude but he will fit right in at Chelsea then lol.

If you can get the ego under check he can be a star, as Oja says he is a gamble, but at that fee its one worth taking. And my point about the future still stands :P need 3-4 more players, some player turnover, some youth integrated, a manager for the next three years, and Roman to not fire him after a season.

Difference is you can see things happening straight away unlike under AVB he wanted to give everyone a proper chance. We needed action straight away and Marin is a step in the right direction.

Exactly what I was about to say. If Bobby can keep him in check - and the jury's out on whether he can, being that he's hardly a disciplinarian - then Chelsea have a very, very talented player on their hands. If not...

Optimist.

Certainly. A quick, talented dribbler who can play on the wing? Someone who's willing to take the pass and make things happen? Exactly what Chelsea need.

I don't think you need to be a disciplinarian to win these players over, being a good man manager and making the players respect you can also do this. Even so for 8 million its peanuts so its worth the gamble.

100% mate, Malouda used too do that for about 12-18 months of his Chelsea career but he is finished for me. This will also make sure the Mata can STAY in the centre playing the #10 role he is most effective at.

Too bad as Marin has a tendency to take his sweet time on the ball and fluff attacks by not passing the ball.

Marin and Sturridge. That's got to be one of the most selfish wing partnerships I've ever seen.

This Chelsea side is crying out for Modric, I can't think of any alternative who would match his capabilities.
