He does need games no doubt, but still think he should hone his skills out on loan at another club for now. A club that will play him that is. Not sure whether throwing him in the Chelsea side at the moment is right because he is still pretty raw, needs to develop more at another club through experience etc.

I think that was true (that he needed a loan deal) last season as from the start a deep lying playmaker was not something we used. But now if we don't sign a DLP then he can be very useful, i would say 10-20 appearances for Chelsea would be more beneficial than 30+ games elsewhere.

But will he get those 20 apps at Chelsea? Thats the question, if yes, then dont bother loaning him out, and another question is, is RDM willing to give him that DLP role?

Mirror (yes I know) reporting that Moses to Chelsea transfer expected to go through in the next 24hrs. Fee of 7m rising to 10m if Moses fulfills certain criteria here at the Bridge

Kalou on his way to Lille in France apparently as a replacement for Hazard. Good Luck. Glad he did not go to a EPL club because knowing him, he will randomly score against us

Expect more departures- Ferreira, Malouda, Benayoun and either Meirless/Essien

The whole reason of him reverting to a DLP is that there is less running involved. The games Josh has played for the first team he has been the stand out player, why not give him games?

Lampard isnt a DLP, he isnt creative enough. As most people have said, Chelsea have long needed a specialist there, so either buy one, or "build" one in McEachran

I would like someone putting faith in an English player, but realistically they will be looking to buy one. Not only that I am sure Jack Wilshere is much better at the moment than McEachran, although would be nice to see him develop and become an England player, wasted last season.

Not sure what Jack Wilshere's got to do with us building Josh.

I am saying Lampard is intellagent enough to do that role while we mould Josh.

McEachran is someone can really go on and become a true regista in the purest terms. But realistically, developing him to that ability will take 5-6 years and it has to be done meticulously and carefully. And we do need a manager who stay at Chelsea for those 5-6 years because every manager who has come in has had different views about McEachran. Ancelloti saw him more as a regista while AVB saw him as a No. 10.

Thus one season he was developed in a certain way and the other season he was developed in another way thus costing valuable time in his development. Situation is not lost as of yet but I fear another 2-3 seasons and it will be particularly if we want to develop him into a regista who are so rare in the world

And yes we do need Modric. Lampard needs to be given a more reserved role in the team. He does not have the legs and he is not an optimal fit in a 4-2-3-1 in any position. Plus their is no better player than Modric who McEachran can learn from with the exception being Pirlo

Then again if Lampard comes down with an injury, do you really want McEachran to be starting for us week in and out as the link between midfield and attack. Makes more sense to get someone in

Lampards isnt a specialist, and if he was to even get anywhere near Scholes that would be a massive achievement. There is a very big difference between doing a job, and actually knowing the role.

Also reports in France saying we have made an enquiry for Azpilicueta after being put off by Maicon's 80k p/w wage demands... I am sure some of you will be happy to hear this latest development

how much truth in that? That would be amazing if we manage to sign him.

Well Maicon would have had to lower his wage demands if he really wanted a move to Chelsea and its entirely possible he does not want to... We were definitely interested in Azpilicueta in January.

I doubt their is too much truth in it anyways but not completely unrealistic imo

Zola has been appointed as the new Watford manager. Good luck to him. Would have been really happy if we appointed him as a coach at Chelsea.

So if Modric to Madrid is apparently a done deal... Anyone think we should turn our sights to Nuri Sahin then? He cant be too happy that he has fallen even lower in the pecking order and that is behind 2 world-class players like Alonso and Modric who he would find nearly impossible to dislodge

He claims that he's happy at Real despite his lack of games and competition; said he doesn't expect to leave and doesn't want to. Would love to sign him though.

Not to mention Sami Khedira and Lassana Diarra, I think Diarra just likes staying at Madrid for money, not interested in playing football obviously.

Lass is off to Fener, it seems. Even if not Fener, I'll be very surprised if he's still at Real next year.

It's funny because Josh said he sees himself as a 'No. 8'. Thought AVB said he wasn't sure what his best position would be, and said he could play No. 6, No. 8 or No. 10?

Lots of those type of players start at 10, and move backwards, and end up being quite versatile if they develop well.
