Chelsea's defence tried valiantly, but couldn't hold out against the mighty Eddie Johnson.
 
Very happy with the Oscar transfer. His natural skill-set and playing style means he hopefully will not have too many problems making the transition to a deeper role. We have been crying out for a player like him anyways and he will continue the evolution that is taking place at Chelsea and be a significant part of what we want to achieve.

Also just to make it clear... The transfer fee was 25m Euro's not 25m pounds and 25m Euro's does break the Brazilian transfer record by a couple of million if I am not wrong.

Also Azpilicueta confirmed that Chelsea have shown an interest in him.

I am relaxed and waiting for developments. It is flattering when you have clubs such as Chelsea interested in you, but there are other clubs interested as well. Nothing is decided as yet so let's wait and see what happens.

Also the Marseille director basically confirmed that the club will need to sell some of their valuable assets such as Azpilicueta and Loic Remy before they can buy players. This is something to watch after the Olympics end. Azpilicueta will become a fantastic RB in the future

Have most sources not quoted it in pounds? And why would the transfer be done in a currency that neither uses?

Considering neither club works in Euros, I am doubting that somewhat tbh.

Indeed. At first, I was against the transfer because of the price, which I still think is quite high, but now that I've watched (downloaded most of them) few games of him, I'm kind of pleased with the signing! It's a huge gamble though. £25 mil for a player that must adapt to a new league, where football is nothing like football in Brazil. Toughest and strongest league in the world. Gamble it is, but then again every transfer is a gamble. So, we will see.

He must bulk up a bit imo, or he will get raped by players like Kompany/De Jong/Tiote/Richards/Vidic/etc.
