This is so frustrating. We were actually playing pretty decent till Ivanovic does something stupid and gets sent off. Ref completely ignores the Savic challenge on the other end. Then we get outdone by two fantastic goals from Toure and Tevez

Bah... Its just a glorified friendly :P

Man city will still be the team to beat this season. Should expect to do well in Europe as well.

Probably just realises it's just count your losses time and get them ready for next week.
Mata off too. Yeah probably that.

haha yeah... We anyways are not looking like we will come back into the game anyways. Roll on Wigan next Saturday though. Really excited at the start of the EPL season

I think Bertrand has just become one of my favourite players, he didn't back down from that lanky *****. I can't stand it when keepers hold onto the ball like that.

Well at least 3-2 does not look so bad especially when you consider we played with 10 men for 45 minutes. Ahh whatever, I just want the EPL season to start now.

Well done to city. Two positives Bertrands first Chelsea goal and Fernandos first goal of the season.

This wouldnt have happened if Brana didnt tackle like that. Man City hardly destroyed us, when they should have.

KTBFFH

Bertrand isnt better than Baines, not by a long shot.

Where did i say he was better than Baines?

Baines is 28, so 4-5 years, thats 2 more tournaments at peak. So can definitely be characterised as a replacement.

I can't see Cole retiring yet, think he will still be left back in France and then it makes more sense seeing Bertrand through as he will have 2 more years experience.

Is it me or is Mikel way off the pace?

I am a huge fan of Mikel but thought he was the worst player on the pitch today actually. He likes to keep hold of the ball and they just closed him down quickly and forced him into errors.

Oh yeah and Ivanovic is banned for 3 EPL games according to Martin Tyler, games which actually count and we do not have a back-up RB. Good times

Double Champions League winner called Paulo Ferreira?? That or Sam Hutchinson.

I actually wanted Bertrand to hit the ****, well done my nut in!

I was glad there was some positives to take from the game, Hazard looked ok, Bertrand was decent, Lampard looked brilliant and City were scared shitless of Torres. Thought Friend was very poor though, on first viewing i thought no way was it a red-card and in Sunday league that is a world class tackle but at this level they are trying to stamp it out so fair enough. My anger was with him giving the Savic foul against Torres, not only would the Brana challenge not have happened but City would/should have been down to 10 men so the game takes a totally different route. It wasn't just that decision to be fair, it was typical inconsistancies from him. Booking players for one thing but then not booking someone else for the same thing.

You said Bertrand would be the number one replacement for Cole. That would be Baines, for reasons i have already gone through with Alcaraz.

Ashley Cole will not be in France 2016. He would be 35 by then. I would put plently of money on 2014 being his last.

Baines will be the next left back before Bertrand, who could actually find himself playing left wing.

I actually meant Brazil 2014 (very knackered today after my first pre-season game), Cole will be left back there which means Baines will be 30 by the time that tournament ends. Will make more sense Bertrand taking over straight after Brazil.

Only if he is better than Baines, and he's talented, but got a long way to go before that happens.

Hulk said he will discuss his future with his agent by Monday and says he is very much open to a move to either the La Liga or the EPL. Chelsea probably still remain hopeful of getting Hulk and that's why they have not sealed the deal for Moses yet

Also I expect to see us tie the deal up for a new RB soon. Hopefully early this week

Seems like there was a lot of confusion over whether Ivanovic will be suspended or not but according to the Chelsea website, he will not be suspended which is a massive relief. Good on ya Brana

FA have told #CFC Branislav Ivanovic will NOT be banned for yesterday's red card. Community Shield is classed as 'non 1st-team game'

******* great news, just wish the FA would have told us this when they changed the rules.
