Seems like a really humble fellow of the pitch. No noises. No talk. Just goes out and plays. The anti-Hazard if you like. For some strange reason, I am more excited about Oscar than any other signing.

I think that's quite harsh on Hazard. Hazard's quite misunderstood; a lot of the things you saw in the media, were the doing of his reps (or w/e you want to call them). Hazard was pestered by the media for ages, and he just had a little play with them, whereas Oscar was being linked with just us, and he made it clear that he wanted the move, if he was linked with a few teams, that might have been different. Hazard has been made to be somebody he isn't in the media, but he and Oscar are quite similar, they both just want to play football, and then off the pitch relax with their family, away from the media, just like most footballers. But, then again, most footballers in general are misunderstood.

Watched the Oscar interview earlier, and he was asked whether he had something to say in English, he said "Yeah, come on Chelsea!" (with a thumbs up, awkward wait, looked around another thumbs up). It was awkward, but a good way to start his English :) And it wasn't really his fault it was awkward, they should have stopped it after the first thumbs up, and not left him sitting there not knowing what to do.

Also, it's been a good first half in the U21s game; playing some good football, dominating, but just missing a goal.

Chelsea playing very well in the U-21 game. Piazon is doing well. Billy Clifford has been good in spurts. Saville looking really solid

Thorgan Hazard looking pretty good ... has rejuvenated the Chelsea attack when he came on. Combined well with Piazon. Has his brother's love for the ground seemingly

Marko Marin expected to be back within a week's time according to Chelsea TV. Hopefully he reverses his fortune in regards to injuries although that is probably why we got him so cheap in the first place.

Also we drew 0-0 with Man City U-21s. Billy Clifford had the best chance hitting the cross bar after being 1 on 1 with the keeper through Thorgan's superb back heel. Felt Chelsea U-21s were the much better side overall. Oh well its of little consequence

[h=1]Juan Mata in danger of burn-out after busy summer, says Chelsea manager[/h]• Forward played at Euro 2012 and Olympics this summer
• 'We run risk of wearing him out,' says Roberto Di Matteo

Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that Juan Mata must have a break in the early season or risk being burned out after his exertions for Spain over the summer. The midfielder, Chelsea's player of the year in his debut campaign, was a part of Spain's Euro 2012 winning squad before he competed, with rather less success, at the London Olympics. He had been determined to make himself available for his country at the Games.
Di Matteo, though, suggested that Mata had paid a physical price and the Chelsea manager has already targeted the period in and around the September international fixtures to give his player a rest. He said that Mata acknowledged he needed it and the player himself has spoken to the Spanish Football Federation on the subject.
Spain face a friendly against Saudi Arabia in Pontevedra on 7 September before they play their opening World Cup qualifier away to Georgia four days later. Either side of the internationals, Chelsea play Atlético Madrid in the European Super Cup on 31 August and Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in the Premier League on 15 September, and Di Matteo could rest Mata in one or the other to maximise his break.
Mata played 75 minutes of last Sunday's Community Shield defeat against Manchester City and he is in line to start at Wigan Athletic on Sunday, when Chelsea open their Premier League season.
"Mata needs a break because we run the risk of wearing him out, absolutely," Di Matteo said. "He's OK at the moment but it's important that you have a rest. We'll plan it intelligently so that he won't be missing too much of our season. There's been dialogue with Spain and there's been some joy. You need to look after the welfare of the player."
Di Matteo has challenged Mata and his other attacking midfielders, among them the new signings Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin, to contribute their share of goals and take the weight off Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge, his only established strikers. But if Mata faces a break, Marin is out with a hamstring injury and Oscar is set to be eased in gradually, after he followed his involvement with Brazil at the Olympics by playing in their friendly in Sweden on Wednesday night. Oscar reported to Chelsea's training ground for the first time only on Thursday afternoon.
"In certain areas we are a bit light, in the attacking areas ... but the two strikers we've got are very good," Di Matteo said. "They can score goals and I'm sure they will. And we need the other players to chip in ... Mata, Hazard, Oscar, [Frank] Lampard always scores goals and Ramires.
"We've signed some very good players and I'm sure they will score goals for us. They have come to a big club, the expectations are high and the pressure will be on for everybody."
Chelsea remain in the market for further attacking signings and officials from the club will attempt to progress their pursuit of Wigan's Victor Moses at the DW Stadium on Sunday.

I have been voicing concerns about Juan Mata since the end of last season. Played 47 games for us last season then went off to the Euro's and Olympics. I still remember how Arsenal refused to allow Wilshere to go off to the U-21 European Championships after he played 45 games for them in the 2011/10 season yet we allowed Juan Mata to go for two summer tournaments!

Think its a bit of a minor miracle he has not been burned out yet... Needs a break for sure. Good thing is that we are not as dependent on him as we were last season. We can afford to give him a break.. Possibly leaving him behind for the Club World Cup?

Oscar was being linked with Tottenham. We cam and hijacked their deal hampering their search for Modric's replacement. On a side note, its fun seeing Levy get burnt. Held out for most of the summer for a 40m deal but according to reports will be receiving considerably lesser from Madrid. Plus we basically took away one of the potential replacements. Add the fact that he has little time to find another one as well

But Hazard still allowed his reps to do it. And please, he did not have a 'little' play.... He praised every team under the sun. He constantly teased the media about his destination. He may not be as arrogant but he did hype himself a lot before coming here. Knives are already out if he flops

Does not matter though, he is our player now and hopefully he does well. Has he potential to be a real world-class player in the next few years. You don't get Madrid, Man Clubs and Chelsea after your signature if you are not good

Chelsea have made an approach for Modric, willing to offer 40m+. Levy delying deal with Madrid after agreeing fee. Modric wants 2 go 2 Real.

What the actual ****?

What the fuuuuccckkk.... Good man Levy. Sorry for insulting you earlier. Get the deal done and convince Modric to come to London

Knowing Levy... I doubt he will let Modric go to Madrid considering Madrid only offered 25m+ add-ons if the Chelsea bid is true. But honestly no idea what is going at Stamford Bridge. All the same, I would be really excited if we get Modric. Would take us to another level

Keep the updates coming on Luka Modric, though an unlikely move i would be thrilled to see him in a Chelsea shirt this season

Makes sense now why Modric to Madrid has not been sealed yet despite reports that Modric had flown to Spain day before yesterday. At first I thought Levy was upto his usual nonsense trying to squeeze every penny out of Madrid but now it seems like he is purposefully delaying the paperwork etc. due to the Chelsea bid

Seriously though, Madrid are definitely the bigger club who will offer more benefits but Modric would do very well at Chelsea too. Absolutely desperate for this deal to happen. Would be the biggest of the window by a country mile

Modric wanted a move to Chelsea last summer, did he not? Thing is, last summer we were the only club willing to pay 40m. So maybe, he didnt want to go specifically to Chelsea, but just to get out of Spurs. So the player's wishes are the most important here, even though we know what Levy's like. He will go for the biggest offer. I'm still not excited, because we know football, and we've seen it all.

Obviously he would prefer Madric over Chelsea. I am just pointing out that Chelsea are a very good option for him too so its not like he will throw a fit if Levy is steadfast in his desire to send him to Chelsea.

I have no idea if this is going to happen. All I know is that if it does, it will be special

Think the players wishes are the key, after all PSG offered 40m and he refused to go there. Anything could happen here. Wonder what has changed for him to no longer want Chelsea.

That would be one of our best signings ever. But yeah, I doubt it.
