He will be perceived as arrogant by the media and fans after all he did to get here. No point defending him Carl...He may not be arrogant in reality but what do you expect the average football fan to think after all he did to get his move

It was when he announced it on Twitter, that's when it really kicked off. I really don't see how that is arrogant, from what i have heard Chelsea were his number one choice hence why he waited to make his decision until after the CL final.

You can be arrogant and immensely talented. I don't mind, I think it just translates to confidence in his abilities. It's when people are arrogant and can't back it up, then they're just a bit of a ****.

Totally agreed mate.

Something like that. Deserved to be fair, but still a lot of money.

Not sure what Torres did to deserve that kind of money though. Everything about him just feels that we overpaid in every sense of the world.

You know that 50 million pounds would have gotten us Ibrahimovic and Silva? The best striker and central defender in the world. Bit of comparison to show how much we wasted on Torres. Real knee-jerk reaction if there ever was one

What? We'd never sell you Rooney and Vidic for £50m! ;)

I can understand that but the way he talked up every club while at Lille. Should have shown more respect to Lille and got his head down and played football. As well as those teasing hints he gave out

Look some people might say he was just playing the media and it was not his fault they were all over him. Others might say he is arrogant. Both of them could be true. However, whatever he did could have been avoided if he wanted it to

I said from day one, Torres never was, never has been and never will be worth 50 million. Was just good getting one over on LFC, plus we can afford it.

Haha yeah well if Torres does not start banging in the goals soon... I am all for cutting our losses on him. Their is only so much you can support one man

I try and put myself in his shoes for a second. Every top club in England wants you, i'd be milking it absolute rotten. I think when he said stuff like "i'll be in Manchester" and "i'll be wearing blue" (which meant a move to City at that time) was what he genuinely thought at that time. He always stated he wanted to wait until the end of the French season until he made his mind up and at that time Chelsea were in the CL final which would be his choice of destination so he decided to delay it even further.

I don't see him as arrogant, he came out the other day and said he would play in any position for Chelsea even left back. He has been slated as potential flop of the season and even overrated by many but has never hit back.

I am giving him this season mate, if not then we need to cut our losses like you say and try something else.

All I am saying is that the way he behaved makes the kind of perceptions people have of him understandable. I don't think he is arrogant in reality but he could have avoided all his nonsense and got his head down and played football.

Yeah he is not getting younger as it is. We have taken a massive gamble by not getting in someone to replace Drogba this summer. Torres needs to repay the faith from the club and fans this season

Luckily i think this loan deal will do absolute wonders for Lukaku. Drogba's league form from last season won't be missed, just his overall contribution and leadership skills.

Hopefully, no need to put undue pressure on Lukaku so soon though... Looks a real talent but needs to be nurtured propely

Also just a bit of a side note... PSG were pathetic in their Ligue 1 Match today. Lavezzi got sent off and I think Ancelloti got in trouble with some officials... not sure though as my stream was really laggy towards the end

No it doesn't it all depends on how you spend the money. Liverpool have spent bucket loads in the last 24months but are no closer to winning big trophies.

**** us for having a rich owner! **** us for being so rich! Ugh.

You gotta love them.

Actually celebrated like it was a Chelsea goal! I rate the kid, such a shame so many Chelsea fans have turned against him already.

Haha, same here mate. Plus, it was an extra pleasure for me seeing him score against liverpool.

Such an arrogant ******* being all quick and tricky and ****!

Reports suggesting we will try give Mata a rest in September if the Spanish FA agree to leave him out of games they have in that month.

I genuinely can't believe all the negative stuff i saw on here. From last season there was one change today in terms of personal so 10 of the 11 are still trying to learn a new system. A lot of sides would not win games until they adapt but we did which says a lot for the players. I saw Cech and the defence not lumping it out as much (still did at times) as previous seasons, i saw us closing them down and forcing them into mistakes and i saw two debutans play very well when doubted by some. There was definitely more positives than i expected there to be. There was some poor aspects about today in we have to be more clynical when we do have possession, more movement is needed and quicker passes need to be played.

All in all i was happy, Bertrand was very good, JT solid as usual, Oscar improved the game and Hazard well possibly the best debut for a Chelsea player especially the first half.

He needs to rest, Mata, and we have more than a capable squad to be just fine without him.

And yes, Oscar will be something special as well. But like Jason Cundy said earlier, Eden's debut is the best for a Chelsea player. No doubt.

I was genuinely trying to think who's was better, i am struggling. George Weah's was very good, scored against Spurs the day he turned up lol.

Regarding Azpilicueta, who probably played his last game for OM tonight, here are some news:

Azpilicueta makes a statement that sounds like a farewell speech: http://www.eurosport.fr/football/ligue-1/2012-2013/azpilicueta-je-remercie_sto3392743/story.shtml. #CFC

#Azpilicueta after game : " These are difficult times. I'm here and I try to do the maximum. We must respect the club where you play." #CFC

Azpilicueta: "These are difficult times for the club. If I can go by offering money to OM, everyone is happy: this is most important' #CFC

Azpilicueta: "Sometimes it has not worked well. But I always gave everything. I thank the fans because they have always been very good" #CFC

Hmm.. I'm waiting for an announcement now.

Deco had a fantastic debut against pompy back in 2008 I remember and capped it off with a 30 yard screamer in injury time.

He did indeed, how did i forget that!

Eden Hazard completed the most successful dribbles in today's game with 5, 2nd on the list was Moses with 4. That is why he will be a very good signing!

Deco I remember became my favourite player straight away he started fantastic I can also remember his second game when he smashed home that freekick. just a shame he couldnt keep up these brilliant performances for much longer though.
