Was just about to post this he has been a good servant to the club in his five years at the club and doesn't deserve this IMO. We also did the same with Anelka and Alex don't see why he can't still be with the first team until he goes.

Well we wanted to let him go but he did not want to lower his wage demands which put off many clubs including Chelsea.... He just wants to enjoy the wage packet Chelsea are giving him and does not care whether he plays or not ala Wayne Bridge

Not really comparable to the Alex/Anelka situation tbh

This is totally different to the Alex and Anelka situation. They were not wanted by AVB and he stopped them using all first team facilities even the car park. Malouda had moves on the table but wouldn't take any wage drop so obviously making money is more important to him than playing football.

Malouda already said he wanted to see out the final year of his contract despite the club wanting to sell him. I feel he could've still been a decent squad player for the first team but he brought this on himself.

At the end of the day it comes down to taking a pay cut and playing football or wasting a year doing nothing and getting paid.

Tbf no-one forced chelsea to give him a contract with such a high wage running through till he was into the latter years of his playing career. This would appear to be a situation of chelsea's making. If their not prepared to make good on the contract they should not have offered it.

Chairman often slate players for not seeing out their contracts and trying to force a move to another club and yet when the clubs don't want to hold up their end its still the players fault for not wanting to move.

Why is it that clubs and players don't seem to understand that when you negotiate a contract it is meant to be something that you intend to see out to the end. Can't blame Malouda imo for wanting to get what was promised to him.

What? His contract doesn't promise him that he can play for the first team, it promises that he will play for us and only us on demand. There is no demand so he doesn't play. Bit like some of the "0 hour" contracts people sign.

Maybe. I'm not so sure on this aspect. I'm pretty sure most contracts have squad status clauses in them. Maybe someone can clear that up.

The point is really about trying to force him out of the club. He doesn't want to go and instead wants to stay and see out the contract he was promised. So the club react by putting him in a degrading and awkward position to try and force him out. It's just not a professional way to act. If they didn't want him at the club at this time they shouldn't have offered him the contract beforehand.

As a chelsea fan I often try to give the club the benefit of the doubt in these situations. But in this case it appears to me that this is being handled poorly.

After looking at the Malouda situation properly i actually don't blame him at all. Not sure if many people know this but he has his own charity set up in Haiti for the earthquake victims and he gives very generously to them. If he takes a pay cut he gives less to his charity so he has to make a decision whether the rest of his playing career or his charity is more important in life. The situation is not far from Drogba's in my eyes just he went to China to earn his dough.

TBF, if someone said you had sit with the trainees instead of doing your current job and you'd get the same money and if you wanted to you could go back to doing your job somewhere else for less money what would you do?

The only thing i am a little worried about is that this happened last season with Alex and Anelka and it was pinned on AVB. Does this mean it's someone else doing this?

Probably, my guess it was just easier for AVB to get the blame. Remember how he said certain things were not true, but he couldnt say anything?

I do think that was a different type of situation in ways because they did not reject moves anywhere but had already sorted out their new clubs. If it turns out it was not AVB then surely the media deserve so much **** for this because they were the ones who printed it.

It's similar though in that they were not needed, and therefore totally marginalised.

But also the people who made the decision, because at no point did they correct it, but seemingly happy to let AVB take the blame.

Anyone seen what Leon Knightsbbeen up to on twitter? If you haven't basically he has been uploading explicit pictures of girls some only teenagers apparently aswell. Not 100% sure but heard he has been arrested over it haha silly ******.

Malouda knew from the start that he was not part of the club's first-team plans. Club offered him to many clubs for a minimal fee willing to take a loss to get him to move. Malouda is breaking down any potential deal with his ridiculous wage demands which no one will give him after his atrocious form last season. Transfer window eventually shuts and Malouda has still not moved

So obviously playing football is not one of his priorities since he knows from the start that he is not the club's plans. But it seems like earning money is.

So fair enough... What else can the club do? Make him train with the first-team when he is nowhere near the clubs first-team plans?.

He is getting his full wages till his contract expires however in the meantime he is having to train with the U-21s. I don't see any alternative way the club could have gone about the matter
