I'd have changed within 10 mins.
1st sub wasn't until 77th-ish... Hazard off for Oscar. Moses - Marin was 5 or so mins later.

Still would have made the change as Obi wasn't, well, anywhere in the first.

Raf got the first right, just think he took far too long to change it up to get the Blues back on track in the second.

Hammers did come back out the keener of the 2 for the second, but Allardyce nailed the two subs for it as well.

Wish I never bothered wasting my money going to what that **** today. Disgraceful performance and the players bar Cahill and Bertrand ****** me off big time after the game as a few Chelsea fans were waiting near the coach to meet the players after the game and only those two came over and spoke to us, signed autographs etc the rest did not even acknowledge us overpaid wankers.

I like how, with the majority of Chelsea fans slating their own team, this is pretty much the bizarro world version of a team thread on FMB. If this thread had any facial hair it'd be a black goatee.

You're an overpaid ******? ;)

Rafa dosent even care. We all know he went to Chelsea just so he could impress his bank manager and bed her. I think he will enjoy his payday very much

Very harsh (imo). He's an excellent manager who is very capable of winning trophies. He's not the sort to take a job based on money. He knows how to win things hence why he was brought in. Only problem he has is ageing players and has inherited a squad that has weaknesses.

Fact ;)

he rejected alot of jobs before Chelsea, rumours being some in China, Dubai ETC... lucrative contracts... its not about the money.

With a team that started to struggle under RDM, fans booing and constantly shouting 'Rafa Out' is not exactly going to help

He has ageing players? Apart from Terry and Lampard, who in the Chelsea lineup is legitimately nearing the end of their career?

As the for latter, every squad has weaknesses, and it's up to the manager to minimise them. So far, he's failing.

Can't blame Rafa for the team he's been given.
Main core of the team is aging and arguably past it, new players are all attacking playmakers and the team as a unit looks terrible when they're put under pressure. Just like every other Chelsea fan, jumping on the bandwagon and blaming Rafa when he and arguably the last 2-3 managers have all had the same issue yet Roman wants what he wants.

Yeah that's true I should have made that point better to be honest. But they were the best players at the club (and in some circumstances can be on certain days). Not a sly dig at player like Lamps and Terry-always loved watching them play and held them in very, very high regard.

He may be slightly failing now, but with the window fast approaching he should be able to rectify them. Though personally I'd put Luiz in a midfield role as he's clearly not good enough at times for a back 4 position. But that's my opinion anyway

Seriously, the whole "Chelsea are ageing" excuse shouldn't be allowed. Chelsea only have six players over the age of 30 in their entire team, and only three of them (Lampard, Cole and Terry) are going to be playing any sort of role. For the record, the other three are Malouda (frozen out), Ferreira and Hilario (neither ever play).

Cant see how age is the problem?

Cech 30
Azpil 23 - Luiz 25 - Terry 31 - Cole 31
Mikel 25 - Ram 25
Oscar 21 - Hazard 21 - Mata 24
Torres 28

Seems like a perfectly balanced age range in all honesty, the age excuse does not quite wash now

maybe lacking that physical balance or 'grit' that is needed in certain situations?

But as mentioned, some strength would definately improve them. We have Phil Neville who is getting on, and can still put in a great performance by using wise positioning to compensate for pace. And we have very strong players to knock opposing players off the ball which combines well with hassling all over the pitch.

It's a bad sign when you criticise your own post lol

haha I wish I was tbh ;) TBH Frank Lampard and John Terry today wound me up the most as they didnt play they was straight outside next to the coach for a good while and we was calling them to come over but just got completely ignored.

the average age is in 27.2 FACT ;)

I only said the main core is aging and past it which is true, all the players from the last few seasons who gave them that physical power and grit as LFCMarshall put it have all either dropped from the team all together or just never play anymore. Instead they're left with a very talented but frail team, all great little players with tonnes of ability on the ball.

Problem they have is their heads drop once the game starts to go against them and it all goes to **** for them. That's why I feel Terry is such a hugely important player for them, he's not the player he once was but he's a leader.

If anything today's squad is too young. They could actually use an old fart field player to set the tone.

Anyway, i think its becoming quite apparent that Lampard is/was very unique type of player and replacing him is going to be real *****. That's 20 goals a season that you wont have.

My dad has been saying this for a few years now. His goals from midfield will never be replaced.

Maybe Chelsea should've put that bid in for Rodwell before now. Though if I'm perfectly honest, I would be staggered if there isn't a sizeable bid for Fellaini in the January window.

Which is why I wish there was no Jan window half the time

How I would love Fellaini at Chelsea:wub: Would feel sorry for Everton and all of the fans though I do really like Everton and a fan of David Moyes :)
