If any of you have got a Drogba shirt just cross out the Drog bit and you can save a bit of money

'He will be eligible for selection for tomorrow's FA Cup match at Southampton, and the Capital One Cup semi-final against Swansea, but cannot play for us in the Europa League this season having appeared in the competition for Newcastle. He will wear the no. 29 shirt.'

Thank lord. Torres days are over.

Seriously though, Van Persie is an illustration of just how important a good striker is to a team. Mike.'s been banging on about Chelsea fixing their midfield problems - and he is right to - but that overlooks the simple fact that Chelsea can pretty much forget about their unbalanced midfield for a while if they just had a clinical striker who can turn games at the drop of a hat. ****, that's what United are doing.

To be fair Chelsea's mid is so lax it makes our midfield look like a bastion of stability.

Llorente to start talks with Juventus. Surely Chelsea must make an approach.

He'd likely end up leading goalscoring charts after about 12 games.

Still scoring quite a lot even in PL though, especially since he's not playing as much. If anything Lampard always been very durable and consistent, i wouldn't be shocked if he can mantain current level up to 39-40. Which is why it'd be silly to let him go.

Yep... now imagine how quick this season would of been over had United of spent in the midfield area as well. Ferguson has dismissed this problem but basically my theory is that he wanted RVP so badly he took the majority of his summer budget to get him and hoped the midfield would cope through this season. That is my ****** hopeful theory anyway, still not counting out United doing some business this window though.

Saw that yesterday, can't help but think the Prem are missing out.

I'd still like another striker. What/who can we afford now in FFP terms, obviously not Roman terms. I can't see Falcao coming in the summer or any big name although I said that before Hazard and Oscar.
Negredo please Rafael. Or wait till the summer and play Lukaku next season, I wouldn't mind Torres, Lukaku and Ba.

Seems to be working too.

And as for not keeping Cole. LOL, that is all.

Although Cole by his standards has been **** poor this season. Not really looked as interested either which is understandable in one way when you consider how Chelsea are apparently throwing him and Lamps out the back door.

Don't count your chicken yet! Torres is Rafa and Roman's love child and i still can't see him being dropped, unfortunely i can see Ba on the bench or out wide. So hope i am wrong.

I can't see it now, he won't leave until the summer anyway and we have Lukaku doing pretty well and i am sure the club feel they will get Falcao if need be.

**** poor is a tad of an exaggeration, he has been as consistent as past seasons id say.

Rafa said:
"We are trying to manage the team so as soon as I can change Fernando. He is the center forward but we will try to manage him and do things properly."

"He wants the team winning games so he will understand that is the way and he will accept this. All the players want to play every game but I think they understand now that if we want to achieve something important we have to use the squad."

But we all saw what he was like when he was playing second fiddle to Drogba, its one thing saying it but its another doing it. I personally hope he does get dropped for a few games but just can't see it.

JT calling for the number 8 to be retired. Would be nice but it won't happen. I didn't know we hadn't offered anyone the number 25 since Zola left, if intentional then a nice gesture.

Ba is a great signing for Chelsea. About as close to Drog as you will get at the moment. Plus, he joins in form, adapted to the PL. Although, I can see his knee exploding within 10 games....:P

About the only Spanish striker that would actually fit in the PL TBF. His physicality is very rare in Spanish players, and combined with some eye-watering technique, he is something else. Would be a shame to see him go to waste in Italy, especially at the rate the top clubs change strikers.

Numbers being retired in the PL is unheard of. Plus, why not do what other clubs have done, and award it as a 'prize'. You know, as a shirt of great significance, a la the number 9 for Newcastle.

Yeah we didn't retire the number but no one has worn it since so must be a gesture.

Yeah i think maybe we shouldn't do it.
