I kind of agree with you i do but when you have a new striker who comes in its hard not to compare them. Ba made runs last night and saturday which Torres does not do anymore and that's sad.

He made runs and he got the ball yes. But usually when Torres is actually doing the same somewhere in the pitch, he doesnt get the ball. But yes, I also think that he tries to avoid the chances as he fears the aftermath so much if he will not succeed in the thing he should do. I know what its like when as a player, you lose your self-confidence and I can find similarities with Torres in that sense.

Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be mulling over a bid for highly-rated Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.

The tough-tackling holding midfielder is widely recognised as one of the best talents in Ligue 1, and has reportedly been watched by scouts from both clubs in the last few months.

Indeed, according to French paper Le Sport 10, the duo have been so impressed with Capoue, that they are ready to splash out up to £8million to land him this month.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for another defensive midfielder after selling Alex Song to Barcelona in the summer, while Blues manager Rafa Benitez wants to add competition for current holder John Obi Mikel.

Toulouse are resigned to losing Capoue in the near future, but are thought to want a fee in excess of £12million for the player, who still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.

Tottenham have previously been linked to Capoue, but are thought to have dropped their interest in recent weeks.

Now this would be an interesting buy

Because his runs are **** most of the time. Movement is not that good.

Avoid them? Then what is he doing there?

All of you saying we are scapegoating him, just think for a second, would SAF have had the patience we've shown? 24 months of shitness, and he is still our first-choice striker. Unheard of.

Cos he wants to play, but he fears failing cos he is feeling the pressure.

I wouldnt be that judging with claiming his runs are **** most of the time. He runs about around everywhere, tires fidning space and tries to see whether Mata; Hazard or anyone there would play him the ball.

All Fernando Torres Liverpool Goals - YouTube

Take a look at, for example, 00.00, 00.29, 00.42, 01.23 and compare the passes to what he gets now.

What he does at the start of the video is what he often does. He positions himself next to the so called further defender when looking things from ball holder view. This is what he also did often during Swansea match, he was there, kinda waiting whether someone would play a far cross to far post which he would latch onto and finish it. Yet sometimes he stays there too long when he aint getting it and he should instead switch his position to somewhere else, thats true aswell.

But its not fair to blame the striker when you aint scoring goals when you aint giving him the opportunities to score them and vice versa him giving the chances for midfielders to pass. Its more of a complex thing than just the striker. So dont make Torres always the scapegoat, when hes not the only one to blame.

Lol at that video. He is not the player he used to be. Many times he has been in those goalscoring positions and he's done nothing other than failing to score. That part about the midfielders failing to find him is because he's different to the Torres in that video. You will see how Ba will score more goals than him with the same midfielders behind him. Well actually, he might not. I forgot who the manager was for a second.

Mr Lampard, if you fancy a kick around with AC Milan I would happily donate 3 quid to your flight. Just the kind of goal scoring mid we're missing, specially since KPB and Nocerino have misplaced their shooting boots lately.

I think Lampard would be awesome in that league.

Letting him go on a free is a bit ridiculous by Chelsea

Italy would suit Lampard down to the ground i agree mate. If he is to leave i hope he ends up abroad and i would love to see him do well in Italy.

Torres is your first choice striker for 24 months? What? Odd i remember this Drogba guy who used to play a lot.

Although I'm not surprised that you don't remember him, after all his career goal stats in Chelsea are actually worse then "pure and utter ****"Torres has this season.

Not talking about the whole 24 months, but especially after Drogba left he was "appointed" first-choice striker. He's been poor for 24 months though. Can't deny it.

The last time we lost 3 home games in a row was back in 1993 losing to Norwich, Oldham and Arsenal. Lets hope come next week its still that date!

It's unbelievable. Back in the day Stamford Bridge was a fortress every team feared.

Torres played far more than Drogba did last season.

Torres started 4 more games than Drogba last season and had better overall stats pretty much in every area other than in the air.

Shooting accuracy, conversion rate and pass completion were all in his favour, the only difference between the two is Drogba shot slightly more often.

Both were rather **** last season so hardly saying much. Except Didier delivered in the big games so no one will remember his other performances
