Yeah, but aerial duels also aren't happening in the vacuum, the defenders still have a job to do when goalkeeper comes out to collect a cross. I'd imagine DDG success rate in the air goes up when you can field Vidic who can bully the attackers from trying to challenge the ball.

Actually all our defenders have been similarly strong in the air this season. Vidic has only played half our games.

I watch games Mike, it's not like I haven't watched United this season. Stats dont tell everything you know. I respect stats and GC, but stats can't tell the full story. We can recognize some improvement, but I do not think he is above Cech (all-round). I am not being biased either.
Oh, and the part about the pundits, lol. I don't take pundits seriously.

Jumping in on the two keepers discussion i do firmly believe Cech is the best still in the PL but De Gea this season has been absolutely magnificent! He has really impressed me especially as the season has gone on, will no doubt be a world class keeper within 12-24 months 100%.

Why are you assuming i am judging this on the basis of one save?
Because the rest of the season hes been average?
I think the past 12 months he has shown what a great shot stopper he actually is. Before then Chelsea had most of the possession in games and would hardly face a shot but in the last 12 months at times we have been under the cosh and he produced save after save. I think he is the most comfortable at catching the ball in the Premier Leauge along with saves like yesterday and last years FA Cup final and Champs League final where he was the main reason we won them cups. Just because Chelsea have been very average this season i don't agree that Cech has been average. What has got worse or not changed if you will is his distribution which not only is very poor but very out dated for this teams new style of play. Too often he will go long and try to find Drogba as he was used to doing but as we all know he is no longer there. Instead there are smaller players who don't win the ball in the air and the play comes straight back at us.

We must not lose Thibaut, Carl. I will be ******. What should happen is:
1) Give Petr one last season (2013-14)
2) Give Thibaut another season at AM
3) 2014 - Bring Thibaut back
4) Give him a new 5 year contract
5) Make him first choice GK

Agree with this annoys me that 9/10 Chelsea fans would rather see us keep Petr till he is 39/40 and sell Courtois permanently just because Cech is a legend of the club and they are delusional and actually think he is still the worlds best keeper.

Lol. He's not the best GK. To be fair, I want him to stay and be 2nd choice, but we must not lose Thibaut. He can be the best GK one day, he's already brilliant. He's going to get better and better. Seriously, he can be the best GK in 3 or 4 years.
I love Petr and I will be extremely sad to see him go, as I was when Drogba left.
I actually think Courtois will benefit more from having a year on loan in the Premier League first, that's if i was gaffer anyway. Agree with you that we cannot lose the lad, he has all the attributes to be as good as Cech in his prime which would set us up nicely for the next 10 years! I actually think Petr may stay as 2nd choice, he has a great affiliation with the club and want better man to work closely with for Courtois than Cech?
I actually see things the other way mate, most Chelsea fans i know/seen want Courtois to replace Cech asap and have not seen anyone say he is the best in the world.
Must just be me that seems to follow all the delusional Chelsea fans who don't have a clue on twitter then.

If anything they may have got Courtois too early. They should extend his loan at Atletico, his development has been brilliant.
