So 10 years of Roman, whats your all time Roman 11?
Cech,
Ivanovic, Carvalho, Alex, Cole
Makelele
Ballack, Essien
Mata
Drogba Anelka

Shoutout to Duff, Robben, Joey Cole and Geremi.

Hilario
Bosingwa - Boulahrouz - Ben-Haim - Del Horno
Veron - Smertin - Jarosik
Mutu
Kezman - Schevchenko

Manager: Scolari.

And I'm sparing Fernandon't Scorres because his Chelsea spell isn't over - yet.

Bosingwa was decent until he damaged his knee ligaments and Mutu was decent too until he started sniffing charlie! Hilario didn't do anything wrong either!

I'm finding it hard to dis-agree with that side to be honest.

I couldn't find a worse RB than Bosingwa in recent years, was going to put Johnson there, or Ben-Haim if I found a CB to replace him. Hilario... well, I've never rated him so there he goes. And Mutu, seriously, if you think the cocainegate isn't enough to stick him there with the rest of those guys then I don't know what is!

Alex instead of Terry. rofld. No Lampard too ? . . .

EDIT: Oh, you mean transfers in the Roman era... I get it now.

Soecial mentions have to go to Sidwell, Pizarro, Zhirkov, Quaresma and Mineiro.

Only thing i remember of Zhirkov

His only ever goal in a chelsea shirt and was a beauty. Proberly could have been a better player for the club if it wasn't for injuries and in form Ashley cole and florent malouda ahead of him at lb and lw

Thats interesting to watch but there is no point in complaining about it, the FA can not do **** and it will always happen in every type of business.

"He's put british football on the map" Lol, seriously? Christ, that would have been ignorant statement even if it was made on american television, but to say it on Sky...holy monkey balls.

I find it quite funny actually because a huge majority of millionaires/billionaires made their wealth in a dodgy way. At the end of the day his money keeps thousands of people in jobs so surely that is a good thing? His money has made other football teams wealthier when we sign players off them, for instance when we signed Duff from Blackburn and they received 17million! Yes they lost a ****** good player but 17 million for Blackburn helps them so much. Were we the reason prices of footballers inflated? Blackburn paid 15million for Shearer in 1995? Inter Milan paid 20million for Ronaldo in 1997? Betis paid 22million for Denilson in 1998, Inter 31million for Vieri in 1999, Lazio shelled out 35million for Crespo back in 2000 and Figo to Madrid the same summer for 37 million and finally Zidane to Madrid a year later for 45million. Utd also shelled out 30million on Rio in 2002 lets not forget. You pay the top dollar for the best players it's always been that way.

Welcome back to Chelsea F.C Tore Andre Flo who has been appointed as a youth coach!

A reply by a friend of mine, its a goodun!

That has to be one of the most bizarre explanations as to why Roman hasn't been a good thing because he hasn't actually stated a specific reason thats true.
Syed just seemed to attack Roman on how he got his money, which all sense, is irrelevant. That
could be said of hundreds of companies, big and small. Why do Starbucks and Amazon make mass profits? Alleged to not be paying correct tax..behind most rich successful people there is rarely a story of pure hard work. One way down the line, there has been an element of fortune or a bend in rules. So really, that argument is pointless.

He talked about the inflation of player transfers/wages being down to Roman...If I'm not mistaken, Man United, Madrid, Munich, Barcelona, Ajax and even Newcastle well before Roman were hiking up transfer, wage and bonus costs. Madrid were spending 30mil on the likes of Anelka back in the late 90's...Barcelona spent 15mil on Romario in 1993! The more football became a global business, the more expenditure and prices increase. Nothing to do with 1 man rich man.

He also referred to why Roman bought the club...One thing is that nobody actually really knows because nobody talks to him. Secondly, he speaks of that as its a bad thing. Look at the likes of Palace under Simon Jordan...bought them to make money off (and a fan) and practically bankrupt them...same as Rangers, Cardiff, Notts County. Didn't bother mentioning them.

People can moan as much as they like about Roman. Facts are that it comes purely down to jealousy. He spent money on us and helped take us to the next level when we needed it. We're lucky to have him and to an extent, any club that faces Chelsea, especially lower league teams in cups. Roman put the cat amongst the pigeons and broke up a 2 horse race...it made the PL more interesting. TV money has soared since so when little teams play Chelsea or United now, they get more than gate receipts for a season.
Roman has been great for Chelsea and great for football in a business sense....the only downside we can look at is how it affects the fans pockets. But Roman can't take the blame all for that...the PL, UEFA and Sky have much to answer for.

That's well put.

I can see both sides to this argument. Syed's right for bringing it up, but he's not entirely correct.
