As much as I would like Rooney I agree just can't see utd selling to potential title rivals. Only players I can really remember being sold to potential title rivals are sylvestre to Arsenal who was nothing special and Veron to us who was dog ****. I can also remember few years back when you wouldn't even sell Heinze to Liverpool who wasn't exactly the worlds greatest player.

My point exactly, sold Veron because we didnt think he would improve to be a threat (he didnt). Silvestre did more damage for us with Arsenal than he ever did playing against them for us! And we wouldn't sell Heinze because he was remotely half decent as a player. To sell someone of Rooney's calibre to Chelsea of all people, is a ludicrous idea.

Selling rooney to you simply means gifting you the title .Rooney wants to be desperate to leave united he needs to ask his money ***** agent to strike deal with club outside the league simple.

I think if Rooney does leave utd it will be best for him to go abroad. A fresh start and a new experience in a different league for him.

I will be quite happy if we just get De Rossi in this summer. Would solve our midfield problems. Ba, Lukaku and Torres are a decent set of strikers. While none of them will get us 30 goals by themselves, I think we can still hope to challenge for the title

It also sends out all the wrong kind of ideas too. With All due respect to Arsenal, that's not what we're about. I'm not saying we shouldnt sell Rooney it its right for the club, but selling him to Chelsea is most decidedly wrong.

If you can get De Rossi and nobody else leaves, my money would be on Chelsea in a title run, tbh. De Rossi will fix your midfield, Schurrle, KDB, Lukaku, Essien give you much needed depth, and the entire top 3 is in transition.

Call me far-fetched but I will take this as a sign that De Rossi is close. Our midfield is very thin as it is so to let one player go without having a replacement secured is pretty suicidal. That said, it could be someone else as well. Wouldn't mind us hijacking the Strootman deal late on

The way Bayern are going about this transfer market, we are going to get absolutely massacred in the Super Cup. Mourinho pull a rabbit out of the bag please

We must build a team to challenge for the title not a team to beat Bayern in the Super Cup. Bayern is the least of our concerns.

If De Rossi joins I can see either Mikel or Essien leaving. Considering Mourinho loves Essien and Gala have been rumoured to be interested in Obi..

Mikel. He might not be the player he once was, but Essien always did the dirty work for Jose when it as needed, and is still a better defensive option imo.

Yeah it will be Mikel which is a huge shame as he will only get better with age.

Too right. In two years or so Mikel will be in his prime.

If I were Jose I'd keep both. You lot aren't exactly stacked in deep midfield, and Jose likes having options. Mikel's a different sort of player from De Rossi, who is different to Ramires, who is different to Lampard.

I dunno i reckon we are a little stacked. Van Ginkel, Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Essien, De Bruyne (possibly) and throw De Rossi into the mix. That's quite a lot considering only 2 can play.
