1. Good signings in. Plenty of potential between the two of them, so let's see how they work out. Matic is a superb addition to the first team and gives us an edge we've so desperately need.
2. Mata to United for Salah+Zouma is still an awful deal in my opinion. Given that the club could have signed one of them without selling Mata and still met FFP, it's completely baffling. Even so, I will reserve real judgement until the summer, as there are a lot of cryptic comments from Jose about why this transfer window will make a lot more sense once the next one is over.

Not taking sides here but Mandzukic? I quite like him TBH and he'll be off sooner rather than later. He might have been worth a shot.

Negredo's scoring a lot, was he this great before? We could definitely use a good striker, we don't need a WC one. I'll keep repeating this.

He was, he's been a great player since... well, the only club where he didn't really cut it was Madrid, but then again most of Real Madrid's rejects end up being world class or at least very good players somewhere else.

I meant he wasn't one of the hottest striker out there, Soldado cost more than him, but Negredo has flourished at City.

PSG paid 54M for Cavani, he's on 150k/week or something, I'd rather not pay Torres-ian wages and fee ever again.

As I said, if you will buy any striker who simply is an improvement on our current lot, they are a plethora of options. If you want a proper world-class striker who is capable of leading the line for a club that wants to be at the too, they are very very few

The Negredo/Soldado argument has been going around in Spanish football for at least 2-3 years. Both were, after Villa, the best Spanish strikers around (there was a time where Torres was there too). Their goal return is very similar and both had been rotated in the NT. It looks like Negredo finally won that battle and with Villa fading it's Diego Costa who's now up there. But make no mistake, Negredo was always highly rated.

I'm not referring to specific player but I think we could use a transfer like Negredo rather than going for another Torres.

I was actually referring to players who are just one step below World Class. We have multiple scorers in our team, Cavani is a GREAT finisher and his work rate would just fit right about in, but we could've gone for him in summer already if we wanted to, mate. I still have hopes that we'll make a breakthrough signing in summer to address striker issue.

The likes of Eto'o miss simple chances in front of goal, I still can't believe he missed a sitter against Stoke, an open goal FFS. Ba was literally chatting with his marker in West Ham game.

I like Eto'o. Sure his body is deteriorating but his footballing brain is still as sharp as ever. He chases down the goalkeeper till the 90th minute. His movement is excellent. Even if he doesn't score goals, at least he doesn't make us actively worse on the pitch like Torres does. And yeah screw Ba, if he doesn't want to be here then he can **** right off

Thing is that Negredo is a special type of player ... Those who are extremely good but fall under the radar when compared to more illustrious targets. Can't think of any similar type of player now tbh . Madzudic or however you spell his name is the closest

De Laurentiis completely made that up ... No idea why either. Yeah agree with you that Costa would be perfect mate. Makes sense to that we can only get him in the summer as Atletico won't sell him now as they are fighting for the title. Also it's good to see Mourinho confirming that Courtois won't be used as a makeweight in the deal
