Very slim? We have to get 7 points from a possible 9 in the remaining games to guarantee us the league, not easy considering the game v Chelsea and Crystal Palace away. A win for Chelsea at the weekend and a draw for us v Crystal Palace would put you's back level on points. City would also overtake us if they win their next three, bringing the title winner down to the last day of the season.

In this whole title race now Chelsea are 3rd favourites to win it because even if we beat Liverpool on Sunday if City win all their games they win the title. That is why we should put 9/10 of our eggs in the Champions League basket.

Costa was **** poor the other night, Suarez was **** poor against us earlier in the season. There's a common theme here and its called Chelsea's defence.

It had nothing to do with your defense, and everything with his bad decision making and awful control. He played like 50 quid striker, not 50 million striker. Crumbled under pressure perhaps, whatever, the point is he was absolutely trash. And PSG games were quite open , unlike the game in Madrid where you just parked a bus.

Also I'd say Costa played quite fine, there's only so much striker can do. Better teams than Atletico have failed to break down Chelsea-bus. In fact, did anyone ever?

Well I hope you do as you'd be doing us a massive favour but I have a feeling it's all mind games, it might be a slightly weakened side but not like what's mentioned in the Mirror with Hilario, Ake, Kalas etc.

Our defence has not got the most clean sheets in the PL for no reason mate, its not always about how poor the striker plays or how poor the service was. We never "parked the bus" against Liverpool and kept Suarez quiet, never parked the bus vs PSG and kept Ibra in the first leg and Cavani over both legs relatively quiet. We have the best/most settled defence in England and arguably left in the Champions League that's why big name strikers have found it tough against us because of how well we defend as a unit.

Well Ake and Kalas were on the bench on Tuesday night and i have seen a quote going round from Kalas which says "Jose told me and Ake last week that we would be involved at Liverpool on Sunday" but whether that's true or not. I'd be happy to see Van Ginkel but i think i draw the line at Christensen.

It won't be whole U21s, just the players who need rest and will have to play against Atleti, *might* not be selected. And I still don't buy all this bullshit, even The Telegraph and Guardian are reporting that supposedly Abramovich gave his green light.

Schwarzer is our second choice GK and more playing time will only help him, plus GKs can a lot more matches than outfield players in a span of few days.

IF anything like that is going to happen, here's the worst line-up I could spout off.

Schwarzer, Cole(LB) [He also needs match fitness so Jose might play him, also he got enough rest in all these months], Cahill, Brana, Kalas (RB), Matic, MvG/Baker, Mikel (again has played very less, so won't be tired), Salah, Schurrle (Willian, Oscar and Hazard likely to face Atleti), Ba.

So that's max 2 or 3 U21s.

There is one thing prioritising competitions, then there is disrespecting another. Both Manchester City and Chelsea have chances of winning the title and City especially would be looking at the Chelsea game as a chance for Liverpool to drop points

Whether its relegation, mid table or going for the title all managers should respect the league and play a full strength side, or at least a competitive one as it ruins the etiquette and is unfair on a lot of sides

I know you wont understand this and defend Jose to the hilt (If he does indeed play a weaker team) but the league should be respected

And it will be respected. It's not like Jose will field the U-21 side but he will field a weaker line-up than he can and this is something any manager would do so I don't see why it's a huge problem ... Hard for you to understand anyways considering Liverpool are not in Europe and only have had the league to focus on since erm January?

And obviously United have gone into panic mode and are chasing everyone from Cavani to Shaw according to the guardian. A bit like how Putin and Russia are flexing their 'muscle' in Eastern Europe to try and hide all the problems at home

If you believe everything you read..

Well it is from the guardian which is still one of the better newspapers out there so there are at least some legs to this story ...

When it comes to ManUtd only Ogden is getting them spot on. I wouldn't be surprised if we are linked with every player with agent leaking news to get better contracts.

Also not sure how it is Panic mode for trying to sign players.

Well then the agents are pretty stupid for trying to link their players to a club that just sacked its manager ... Any rationale thinking person would wonder why in the world they will be attempting to sign players without knowing the plans of the future manager

Hmm maybe because for the first time in 20 years, a manager at United has just been sacked. For the first time, the situation at United actually looks unstable. What do we do to calm the fans? Leak false stories of how we are chasing Fabregas and Cavani to show that all is well at the club and it's business as usual allowing United to hide all the internal turmoil. Why would the guardian report it otherwise?

Shame that never happened with Hazard who signed for managerless club.

Any player who will be signed will be informed who the manager will be and club will get in touch with the manager who will be signed. Also players like Fabregas, Reus are dream for any manager just like Hazard is.

Funny you say that after we spent 65 million on 2 players and most importantly signed Mata.

Why would Guardian report it? Yeah like Guardian is sort of Bible who won't report anything that isn't true. Or maybe we should ask Subtle who will tell something about click bait.

Btw, Im not saying what Guardian reported is made up completely, just that it might be agent's work leaking news for better contracts or club's. Still can't see how being linked with world class players is being in Panic mode

Any manager would do? I find that hard to believe.. 5 points off the top still having the play us and LFC having to play Palace

The title is very much on for any of the three sides at the top and Semi Final or not I would find it extremely frustrating if the manager of my club had completely given up hope of winning the Premier League when it is so close to finishing and you are still in the running

That's getting a little boring now, must you insist on attacking every club whenever Chelsea do something in question?
It's also a complete bullshit excuse otherwise teams from outside of the European spots would be challenging all the time, which alas they're not.

Except you are completely ignoring the fact that we are 90 minutes away from the CL finals and our destiny in our own hands in that completion. Why shouldn't Mourinho prioritize it over the other?

Sorry mate, this is the Chelsea thread. I think you wanted to talk about the treatment of Moyes in the United thread.

On topic: I would like to see us go out there and field a full squad to take the points off them but I can understand why a tight CL game 3 days later may seem more important. Personally I think that this is a troll and there's no way that lineup will start but you never know with Mou.

Awful comeback... especially from a Chelsea fan.... yeh we all know Chelsea treat their managers so well. Moving on.

No it's a disgrace and lacks class because Chelsea are doing a dis-service to themselves and the other teams, Man City aren't out of it and nor are Chelsea if they at least try to win this game and not just throw in the towel like some kind of cowards.

I'd argue you have more chance of winning the league still than you do of the CL because you have to get past Atletico with key players missing and 1 goal for them it's going to be extremely tough for you. Then beat Madrid or Bayern who are just better in every department than your team, admittedly you've done it once but I can't see luck striking twice when it's so negative with the so called 'special one'.

Edit: If you're being comfortably beaten at around 65-70 mins you could sub some players off for some others and that would be a much better way to go about it.

Except, you know, I stand by our managers and always want them to be given time. I'm not the one calling for my manager's head halfway through the season and then constantly finding ways to criticise him for the next 4 months...

This air of outrage is stupid. If we think resting all of key players ahead of a tight match that would put us in the CL final is the right call, then we will have the right to do what we see as being best for the club's interests.

Personally I think it's a stupid choice, but it's ours to make. Trying to claim the club has some moral responsibility in this matter is just ludicrous.

In 2009 United rested 10 players against relegation threatened Hull ahead of their CL final vs Barca. Unless you feel the same way in that case, you have no right to go around branding it a disgrace. United did what they had to do in their best interests, just like we probably will do (although to a lesser extent, not 10 changes).

This. Although my annoyance would be as a Chelsea fan, not looking like we're doing our best against Liverpool, when you still have some shot at the title. Feel likes giving up. But that's just me.

Different scenario but I certainly don't approve with that case either as it's unfair on other teams.
