These are all suppositions. He could last 90 minutes for all we know.

Its safe to assume that he can't. There's a reason why he didn't play full games in the World Cup. In Ivory Coast he's a bigger figure then the pope, he would never be left on bench if he was able to keep up for 90 minutes.

To be fair, I'd think the main reason he didn't play full games in the World Cup was because Ivory Coast had better options. Bony's no mug. It's a bit condescending to just assume that Ivorians don't understand that Drogba's on the downswing and at this moment Bony's a better player than him.

But it's a pretty moot point anyway. I seriously doubt Drogba will be playing a full 90 minutes in any Prem game as it is.

Thats the thing though ... You keep assuming he will be brought in as first choice but the truth is that he will be third choice. I agree that I would rather not have him leading the line for an extended period of time if Costa/Lukaku get injured but then again, we have been saying the same for Torres

I don't doubt Drogba can still make an impact as 3rd choice striker. The issue is, he's doesn't make a very good 3rd-and-last striker. He's a 36 year old injury prone pensioner who can't even last 90 minutes at PL pace. That leaves you very vulnerable in my book in case some injuries and bookings occur (which they will).

But how many 3rd choice strikers get to play 90minutes in crucial games these days bud? If its Drogba or Torres it makes no difference in my opinion on the pitch wise, financially Drogba would be a far better option.

I love having the "Chelsea never bring through youth" convo because i simply ask how many of the former Chelsea youth lads are playing at a similar or better level than Chelsea? How many of them right now could actually offer us something? There has been 1 and its the same 1 i have been saying for 12-18 months now and we signed him back in January in Matic!

I was right again :P... Jose saw sense and so did Tiago. Made absolutely no sense for either parties that move. If you want him as a coach you can do that in few years when he retires.

Apparently we didn't want to pay his 3rd party so not as cut and dry as "Jose didn't want him". This is probably the reason Romeu signed a new deal last week.

Now that Madrid have acquired Rodriguez ... It essentially means that Khedeira and Di Maria will be made available. Will be interesting to see what Jose does especially in regards to Khedeira. We have sorted out all our weaknesses but if a good player like Khedeira becomes available, we definitely have enough funds to make 1-2 luxury signings

Just watched the game and as i said after our 2 victories the result means very little and tonight was no different. Felt Luis looked assured but the man of the 1st half for me was Van Ginkel and the type and number of challenges he was putting in! Salah has been very poor pre-season but i said when we signed him in January that he will be an impact sub late on in games on the counter attack at pace running into space, in these games so far we have had all the possession so hard for him to operate. Boga has impressed me immensely so far pre-season excellent at Wycombe, our brightest spark at Wimbledon and the goal tonight for a 17 year old was just world class and we really need to look after this lad. Overall a good workout against an opponent who are a higher class of what we have played so far and the Spanish lads should be back come the weekend so more positives to look at.
