Didn't realise that Juve were buying Di maria and Strootman.

I was being facetious with Xabi Alonso. It pretty clearly wasn't a realistic scenario.

If you can't see why Pogba's being hyped, you're a bit mad. He's an amazing all-round player who is developing day by day. He's a big, strong, technical tackler and goalscorer with a good passing range and a decent amount of pace. He's essentially the complete midfielder, and one who's been outperforming two of the best in the world in Marchisio and Vidal this season. Put him in a midfield with Matic and Fabregas and Chelsea would have the best midfield in the world and it wouldn't even be close.

He may well of started this season better than Vidal or Marchisio but it should be judged on consistency and overall performance throughout the whole season.

I still think Vidal is recovering and actually... not even in his usual game atm due to the off-field partying he tends to be doing so it's a bit of a weak comparison in my view.

He has all the tools to be a great player, but so does Balotelli, what is more important than these tools is the attitude.... I think both will not overcome this and therefore never be the real player they are capable of.

Hate to use a United reference because I know I'll get mocked for it, but one thing Fergie didn't like about Pogba was his ego, he clearly has a big one.

Being "good" in games here and there doesn't deserve the hype he gets, best young midfielder in the world... going to be the best player in the world... I really don't see the height of the performances which showcase this.

Then if Chelsea sign someone like Xabi Alonso, they can have a midfield that makes Arsenal, United AND Liverpool fans sad!

New Chelsea lineup

Clyne-Stones-Williams-Cole
Delph
Pogba- Fabregas
Sterling-Ward Prowse-Bale
Suarez

Not entirely sure what you're saying there. He's started the season better than both of them after last season, where he was quite clearly both more important and better than them.

I guess I find it amusing you're criticising Pogba for his attitude and yet don't say the same of Vidal, who as you pointed out as off-field issues. Can you find any examples of Pogba's behaviour effecting his play or development? I can't. This isn't a Ravel Morrison career destroying attitude, this is an Ibrahimovic 'I'm better than everyone and I'll work myself into the ground to prove it' attitude.

Even if you ignore that guff about what a player is 'capable of', it's an entirely ridiculous comparison. Balotelli shows flashes of quality and then fails to match it consistently. Pogba is consistently excellent. Fergie might not have liked Pogba's ego, but he knew he was insanely talented. That's why he wanted to keep him. He didn't, and he's turning out to be a huge (if unavoidable) loss.

If you think he's only been 'good in games here and there' then you're quite clearly just wrong. Go watch him. He is certainly the best young central midfielder in the world at the moment, and I'm struggling to think of a midfielder who was that good at that age. Fabregas, maybe, but by then he'd been in and around Arsenal's team for half a decade and had years of experience on Pogba.

He's special. Really seriously good, and your constant defensiveness about Pogba in relation to United does you no favours, especially when nobody had brought it up before you did.

No Wilf 0/10 would not play

Silly boy, United is buying those two. Smh

And finishing 7th again?

Pogba is one of the best young players in the world. and is the best young midfielder in the world.

I'm stunned that anyone thinks he hasnt shown this, or shown consistency.

Nah, any teenager could break into a midfield that consists of Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal.

And then force the manager to change his entire formation to accommodate him. The boy's a bit good.

££££££££££££££££

(Sorry, so used to other people responding to me with that, just wanted to see what it feels like)
Tbh man, I know money buys you success at some extent. United broke English record many times. Only fool would think money has nothing to do with success.

However difference is, United is spending money United earned.

Indeed. Let's move on to a new subject. Who do we reckon Chelsea will spend on in January, if anyone?

I have heard from someone today that the Khedira deal is as good as done so maybe him. But surely won't cost must as only will have 6 months left on his contract by January won't he?

And Chelsea are spending money Chelsea have earned by selling players............

That'd be an interesting one. IIRC he has quite a good relationship with Jose, and he could fill either deep midfield slot. He'd be a good option.

Would be the end of my boy Mikel though :(

Mikel I have to say was brilliant when he came on against arsenal! Really settled the game down once he was on and he didn't get enough credit from our fans afterwoulds.
