Well thats really not true is it As the FA have failed to punish ovious stamps like this before, Rooney got away with one. One on Januzaj wasnt punished. Weird argument to make. Luck does have something to with it. And its not a random person it, its a quite a large number of people saying it was. With all due respect you're coming off as bias. Watch it again, he knows what he's doing and makes no attempt to avoid him. That makes it reckless and dangerous as you mush show due care on the pitch

To sum up: Whether is punished or not does not change the fact it was deliberate.

If i punch you on purpose and dont get punished, it doesnt mean its an accident, it just means I didn't get punished

Dont get me wrong, all I am saying is that if it is really as obvious as so many people say it is then he will definitely get punished. I watched the clip and I can't conclusively say whether it was deliberate or not but then again i am probably being biased semi-consciously as you pointed out. If he doesn't get punished for something so obvious then the FA is just incompetent and inconsistent as usual or it wasn't conclusively said to be deliberate

This little segment from a SkySports article is spot on...

"Costa takes other players outside of their comfort zone. Whether that stray boot planted on Emre Can was accidental or not, he had the 21-year-old squaring up to him inside the first 15 minutes. Can had been booked just once all season prior to last night. By extra time, evens Liverpool's vastly-experienced captain Steven Gerrard was facing off against Costa.

None of which did Liverpool any favours. When the tempers flared it was Chelsea who seemed to find the intensity a less stressful environment in which work and in this sense Costa can be seen as the embodiment of his manager on the pitch. It's a figure Mourinho has missed in more ways than one."

Chelsea striker Diego Costa is willing to overstep the mark to win but that's what Jose Mourinho loves about him | Football News | Sky Sports

It just further backs that Jose has brought all of his dirty old tricks over from Real Madrid. Demanding his players deliberately stamp and wind up the opposition, demanding the whole of his backroom staff get up and appeal for fouls, or a 50-50 ******* throw in. Remember when the el clasico a few years ago was titled an embarrassment to football? Yeah that.

There is no saying the world definitely about the FA. There are so many deliberate stamps and bites that they haven't doing anything about.

cant think of a dirtier player in the league

I doubt Mourinho deliberately tells players to go out and stamp on other players. But there's nothing wrong with winding up the opposition, that's just part of the game and if the opposing team can't deal with that then that's their hard luck. The El Classico is an embarrassment and has been for years but that's more down to all the pathetic diving/ cheating that is involved in it, but that's Spanish football.

Going off the Costa topic how great was Zouma last night? Id like to think he has earnt a run of games with that performance but I won't be surprised to see Cahill back in the starting 11 on Saturday.

Already having nightmares of Cahill backing off Aguero

Can't fault his performance last night, he was superb and just like you said I think he merits being in the starting 11 against City, especially considering how poor Cahill has been for the past month or so. But that may be the little kick up the **** Cahill needs.

On another note, did anyone see Mourinho's celebration with Emeleano and his son at the end? Absolutely fantastic. Genuine passion

Costa charged for stamp against Can but cleared of anything with Skrtel - Will miss the game against City

Agreed. There is no way of knowing if the second incident was intentional or not

And if it doesn't look intentional - and it didn't - then you should probably give him the benefit of the doubt.

If I'm not wrong though, if he appeals doesn't he get the ban lifted for the next game?

It was Costa, and that alone makes me feel it was intentional haha

Im not sure on the ruling to be honest

Chelsea will appeal.

Lot depends how quickly the appeal is considered and ruling made, If before game he will be banned.
