Incredible to think that Chelsea fans would have been celebrating like lunatics if we signed him last summer but now are actively revolting against the transfer. Understandably so of course but still things change so fast in football

I wouldn't say Chelsea fans are actively revolting against the transfer but there's certainly skepticism towards the deal and rightly so because everyones afraid we'll have Torres 2.0 on our hands and he was terrible at United. Given that it's just a loan makes it a decent bit of business from us with barely any risk involved at all. I'm actually one of the few fans who's excited/ optimistic about Falcao plying his trade at the Bridge next season.

So are you suggesting that for a club that wants to win the CL next season, we should bring in Patrick Bamford as third choice just to keep Remy happy? A third choice striker who will actively be expected to finish games, score goals in pressure situations and perhaps even start a few key ones if Costa/Remy are injured which looks likely

Seems like Falcao deal is done. I honestly can't see much wrong with it. He surely won't be worse than Drogba

Worse than Drogba. At least Drogba can run and offers lot of physical presence which Falcao failed big time last season.

He is a wonderful person though, genuine superstar but down to earth. Like you said, it says more about him that he wants to be back in the league where he flopped to prove his worth rather than taking easy route.

You didn't watch Drogba last season if you thought he could run. He was gassed after 20 minutes every time and couldn't play 2 games a week properly. Yes he offered a physical presence which was useful towards the end of games but he was completely unsuitable for starting a game as his reaction time and other physical attributes had regressed badly

Yep I just can't see much wrong here. If he does well and hits his old heights, we have the best strike force in the league. If he is **** then we just let him go at the end of the season and we plod along with Costa/Remy who are more than suitable

I don't think he ever said Falcao will win us the CL, but we certainly need to improve for next season and even a **** Falcao on loan is better than a 37-year-old Drogba. I'm with you on Griezzman and I honestly think he'd be the perfect signing for us, however as much as I'd like to see him at Chelsea I think we need to look at bolstering other positions first. In my opinion we need a new GK given Cech leaves, a versatile CB, personally I'd like to see us go after John Stones; a box-to-box type midfielder and another striker a.k.a Falcao. Also we really aren't that far away from winning the CL, in fact our squad now is better then the one that won it in 2012 and out of all the English clubs in the competition we probably have the best chance of winning it.

He can play on the sides right? Or behind a striker? I'm pretty sure he can and he has. You must understand that we need to strengthen other positions more than the 3rd striker position. We rely too **** much on Hazard and we have the left side as the only viable route to the enemy goal. How does Falcao help us exactly? He won't be even playing regularly.

That goes without saying as well, every club is looking at getting the best available players who suit what they need. I definitely think we'll splash a bit of money to bring in a top player like Pogba or Griezmann for next season though.

I wouldn't necessarily say we 'owe' him anything but I think we should respect his decision. He's probably been the most consistent goalkeeper in world football over the past decade and has been nothing but professional, this year is a prime example of that and as much as I'd hate to see him sign for Arsenal I completely understand why he'd want to join them. If we can get £10m-£15m for him or work out some exchange deal with Chamberlain involved I'd be happy with that.

I am glad that he was professional considering he broke into the Chelsea team in very similar circumstances by benching Carlo Cudicini under Mourinho

Honestly I would rather try work something out with the likes of West Ham or Tottenham (If Lloris leaves) if Cech is adamant on remaining in London. Arsenal will be our biggest rivals next season and it's completely dumb to strengthen them unless we get the Ox in return

Playing Devils Advocate, from an outside perspective (and one I'd also have if I were a Chelsea fan), it was pretty darn poor of both Chelsea and Mourinho to keep him last season on the bench. A player of Cech's standing deserved FAR better than that. I fully appreciate going with the younger guy for the long term in Coutois (after 2 years out on loan he needed to play); but if you make that choice you allow Cech to leave and start somewhere else. He deserved that and is now pushing for it himself. This isn't any old player we're talking about He's still one of the best 'keepers on the planet and after his professionalism and loyalty to Chelsea through the last 10 years he deserved FAR better than the treatment he got last year.

All that said, regardless of what Mourinho and the club say, I just can't see him selling to a domestic rival. If Cech leaves, I only see him going abroad.
