Newcastle's loss to Stevenage was abysmal. I cannot see how a team who obliterates Aston Villa, Sunderland and West Ham play such dreadful football. Congratulations Stevenage, you deserved it.

Thats the FA Cup for you lol. Look at Man Utd v York few years back. No wins assured for anyone it appears. On the upside, you can fully concentrate on league now.

Doesn't stop the banter from friends because we lost to a League 2 side (correct if i'm wrong) :(

True, and admittedly it's a good source of cash, but a lot of top flight clubs tend to struggle against lower league sides. There's some real banana skin ties down there. Thats why if we get drawn against a club like Stevenage, or even Oxford, I do get a bit nervous. Clubs down there have taken big scalps before. Thats why I'd rather avoid Stevenage. Now I've tempted fate lol

I'm guessing your lot missed Caulker once he went off injured.
It's a worrying thing to say considering he's a teenage loanee - he's become our talisman. We actually coped quite well for a while, but the defender that replaced him (Fontaine) wasn't fully fit and looked out of sorts come the second half. Then we conceded three identical goals in what... fifteen minutes?

That said, fair play to Wednesday. They took a pounding in the first half but hung on well (like we have in many games this season) and neutralised Stead and Adomah all game. The team talk they got at half time must have been something special. Best of luck to 'em in the next round (brilliant travelling support as always), hope they get a big'un.

Also, did anyone see Ian Holloway's interview after Soton game.

Was a bit embarrassed for him, really pathetic some of what he said. Certainly let the fans get to him.

Yeah, I saw it. What made him say that?

Well, I assume Soton fans were chanting 'premier league, your having a laugh' which is completely understandable when a lower league side is beating a premier league team.

I see. As much as I love Hollaway he seems to have a seige mentality and is very quick to get defensive about his team.

I'm sure he'll be just as quick to turn on his own fans next time 'it's just like watching Brazil' circulates around Bloomfield Road.

Yeah, we were chanting Premier League your having a laugh. And that's because we were having a laugh! :D To be fair, Holloway said he made 9 changes; but we made 8 to our normal line-up! I think we looked far more 'Premier League worthy' than them yesterday. Nobody can go using the 'squad changes' excuse either! :P

What do you except from a team that was supposed to be relegated from the Championship last season?

On another note, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/stevenage/9351360.stm

Stevenage fan?!

Don't think the ITV line out is how we're going to, think Kuyt will probably drop to the right, Meireles in beside Lucas and Gerrard bombing in to support Torres.

The Ginger Pele Returns..

Gary Doherty back at the lane. <3

Yeah I thought the same.

The ITV graphic showing Meireles on the right still? Surely he's going to go central with Kuyt on the right, Torres playing the lone striker.

This is going to be a quality match, its SCOTLAND 1 VS SCOTLAND 2 lol
