I'll take you nubs back to the time Gerrard won a penalty by losing his balance to avoid a sliding tackle. The defedner didn't touch him at all, or even get anywhere near him, but the intent from the defender to tackle Gerrard was enough to award the penalty.

Madridista, sort your language out you mug.

Edit, lol red card, on a par with tiotes tackle yesterday which also warranted a red.

So much for the King Kenny effect at Liverpool lol. And i admit i was wrong, i thought i would only pump up the Liverpool born lads, well it did but in the wrong way.

Also, listen to the commentator for those of you saying its not a red. He has broken the rules completely.

Not a good 1st day for Kenny so far.

Hmm I think its debateable but its not a shocking decision I think 70 percent of refs would of given a red.

The annoying thing is, we've played fairly well at times, looking better but this will most likely ruin our chances somewhat.

What did you really expect Liverpool.

United + Howard Webb + Old Trafford = No Chance.

Come off it. I detest Man Utd with a passion. BUT that was a clear red card. You simply cannot leave the ground like that - it was a potential leg breaker and he knows it.

Correct decision. (but never a penalty in the first minute...)

Not a red. A yellow, yes, and a warning. Not a red this early in the match.

Carrick done the same.

Yeah the ref made a mistake for the penalty but he had too send him off, think about it.... if it was the other way around with rooney or someone like that you would go red red red.....

"your getting sacked in the morning" haha don't usualy think highly of the crown at OT but that is priceless, take a bow.

It's that now football is becoming even more of a non-contact sport so anything like a touch or a slight shove is a foul now.

Precisely the reason for football fastly becoming a joke!

Opinions like that is why the game is becoming basically basketball.

See now Gerrard flying in like that is a foul!! XD THAT is why decisions should be made!

Not throwing yourself to the ground through a blatant attempt to cheat and convince a referee

I'm a united supporter and even I have to say that there shouldn't have been a penalty or a red card. Terrible refereeing.

Even if we do go on to lose the match at least we look 20x better in possession than we have all season. Dissapointing about the sending off but as soon as you leave the ground like that your in trouble.
