got a yellow card and a final warning, another 5 minutes and he would have been

I'm really not going to go on about this so don't worry and it would be silly to send him off for something a little reckless, but when he goes flying in twice then pushes Chamakh in the face, that has to be a red card.

Anyway - Utd wanted it more and were very good defensively.

Well done to Almunia, but nothing much else went our way today - Arsene ran over a black cat.

Arsenal had an absolute shocker!!! Wilshire and Sagna seemed like the only players who really put 100% in!!! Gibbs was terrible beaten down the left almost everytime and played sloppy passes and now we've lost Djourou which means Squilaci will most likely be played from now and he really doesnt cut it for me!!! ive stuck by wengers decisons for a long time but something really has too change now!!!

Yeh, i feel sorry for Wilshere, he fights a lot for the team he is always giving is best. He somes like the most experienced player sometimes

then why bring it up? nasri actually has a little push ffrom behind, and scholes has a little push on chamakhs chest, not his face. little bit of hangbads from both sides.

So frustrating, Arsenal went out and really took it to ManU, I thought they were the better team until they went down a man and got tired. Although Wilshere was very good at times today, I think they're a much better team with Fabregas in. They just didn't have the killer instinct in the attacking third, and ManU defended very well and was lethal on the counter when they needed to be, with a great keeping performance from VDS. Typical Arsenal game. Smalling is great, BTW, he will be a world class defender.

Hopefully ManU will be distracted by being in 3 competitions and somehow Arsenal will sneak up on them and take the league. I doubt it though. ManU has the mental strength that Arsenal doesn't and they can grind out results in games like these even if they're missing a bunch of first teamers.

And Rosicky should just quit.

Good game Arsenal, you deserved to lose with only 1 goal difference :P
Rooney adopted new role - a box to box striker XD
Gibson had a solid game, thats a strange. Javier didnt score, but he played well. Good, solid win, I love the way how we play when Valencia is on the pitch. *******, how fast is that guy. Speechless.

just read this:

From anonymous Arsenal fan via text: "Two cup defeats with Birmingham's Ben Foster and now Van der Sar man of the match! When are we going to come up against a keeper like ours?"

Struggling to come to terms on how we lost that game. A few brilliant saves from VDS and some lackluster finishing costs us dear again. Wilshere and Almunia were top class, as for the rest of the players Meh.

The true reason I believe were out of all 3 knockout competetions? The media hype about the quad, it only took a sane person to realise a team whos been without silverware for 5 years isn't going to miracously win the quad, especially when we had Barca in the knockout stage and Utd at OT. It was stupid to think we would, I honestly thought we'd win one, like most others. (Carling cup)

But you can only look at this season in a positive light from an Arsenal fans POV, in none of the 5 previous years have we been close to winning anything and suddenly we stumble at the last hurdle in the Carling and pratically the last in the FA, considering whos left in it.

Nasri was the one who started it when he tapped Scholesy on the head. It was a poor challenge but Nasri shouldn't have done that.

Scholesy should stop tackling though.. Can't get it right...

Definetley he in my opinion could be a future arsenal captain!!! Good news that Ramsey is finally back though he can now take that sloth diaby's place!!

that game went like every game against united, notice how we stand off you a fair amount, no point chasing you. united were fairly comforttable defending you only lost a man in the 84 minute to be honest

SPOT ON, if anyone would like to recall that is exactly how we played Arsenal two weeks ago also.

Until they get close to the area, where we compressed the midfield and defence and got as tight as possible.

Only giving a few players the license to chase and harry certain Arsenal players in order to unsettle their rhythm.

On another note the future of England is looking bright. Smalling is going to be a first choice CB a few years from now, Wilshere already is in the squad and with players like Andy Carroll, we have some good prospects for the future..

wilshere typified the attitude arsenal needed to show. such a fantastic young player

i want united to sign wilshere because he always puts in his best but he cant win trophies at arsenal

Chris Smalling is making humongous steps.. I think Ferdinand should stick to his magazine and twitter with the way Chris is shooting up,

still has a lot to learn, and will need the guidance from rio and vidic. Rio is still a much better defender than him

With a midfield of Wilshere and Ramsey in a few years time.. I can safely say that Arsenal will be winning trophies. No way in **** would Wilshere ever consider joining Manchester United.

if he stopped the whinging and moaning at referees he would be the model for all english kids to aspire to!

Awesome talent, and although i have been a critic in the past of Arsenals developing of foreign footballers trait, being around a team like Arsenal is no doubt key to the sort of player that Wilshire has developed into. Hats off to Arsenal of late for developing some great talents!
