Improved Month For Durrington FC

It was a much better month all around for Durrington FC, who went on an unbeaten run of five games before losing their final game of the month against Maidenhead. The opening game of the month was against Bishop's Stortford ended in a 2-0 win with Egbeku scoring both goals. They then beat Tonbridge 1-0 before a 0-0 draw with Bromley. The final game of the month ended in a 1-0 defeat against Maidenhead.

Bishop's Stortford 0 - 2 Durrington FC

View attachment 385186

We put in a good performance against Bishop's Stortford, especially Elyon Egbeku. He had a superb game, and was perhaps disappointed he didnt get himself a hattrick.

Durrington FC 1 - 0 Tonbridge

View attachment 385184

We took our unbeaten run to four games with another victory, this time against Tonbridge. It took a very long time, ninety minutes in fact, for the deadlock to be broken, with Scott Partridge getting a last minute winner. Once again we are proving that possession isnt everything.

Bromley 0 - 0 Durrington FC

View attachment 385182

Our second boring nil-nil of the season. The positive of this game was we have now extended our unbeaten run to five games.

Durrington FC 0 - 1 Maidenhead

View attachment 385179

Our final game of the month brought our unbeaten run to an end. It was disappointing we were unable to extend our run, and be unbeaten all month, but if you offered two wins, a draw and a loss at the beginning of the month I would have taken it!

Currently sitting in 11th place. Very pleased with that.

Inconsistency At Durrington FC

Its once again been a mixed month for Durrington FC, this time winning two of their games this month, and losing three. They are currently sitting happily in mid-table though, but a couple of results either way could see them rise up into the play-off positions. Durrington FC opened the month with a two-one defeat, before going into a one-nil win over Farnborough. They then lost three-one and one-nil before playing out a thrilling three-two win against Ebbsfleet.

Durrington FC 1 - 2 Bath

View attachment 384859

Despite the close scoreline, we didnt play particularly well at all. Our only goal came from a questionable penalty kick which was converted by Mamadou Gomes.

Farnborough 0 - 1 Durrington FC

View attachment 384858

Elyon Egbeku got his fourth goal of the campaign in a one-nil win against Farnborough. Im hoping he will keep up his reasonably good form and grab some more goals in the coming games.

Hayes & Yeading 3 - 1 Durrington FC

View attachment 384857

Another disappointing result for us. Tom Jordan got his first goal for the club to give us an early lead, but we were not able to hold on long and ended up losing three-one.

Durrington FC 0 - 1 Dover

View attachment 384856

Having hit the back of the next three times it was very disappointing to come away from this match with a loss. All three of our goals were judged to be offside, although two of them seemed very iffy.

Durrington FC 3 - 2 Ebbsfleet

View attachment 384855

Perhaps the most exciting game for Durrington FC so far. After a drab first half, we came out and put on a much better performance and we went three-nil up. Things got nervous towards the end though, with Ebbsfleet scoring twice. We managed to hold on for the win though.

Repeat Month For Durrington FC

Durrington FC's form this month was exactly the same as the last, winning two games and losing three. Two of the games they were involved in were in the FA Trophy. The progressed to the 1st round after beating VCD Athletic, but were knocked out by Skrill Premier side Macclesfield. They were also involved in match of the season so far, an exhilarating five-three victory against Dorchester.

Boreham Wood 1 - 0 Durrington FC

View attachment 384813

We again started the month with a disappointing loss. Despite playing 5 at the back, we are still conseeding quite a few goals which is a little concerning.

Durrington FC 5 - 3 Dorchester

View attachment 384811

We got back on track with an excellent five-three win over Dorchester. Once again we conseeded way to many goals, but it was pleasing to see us banging in those five goals at the other end. Both Dinsmore and Tarbie were in excellent form, and they were both a little disappointed not to get the first ever hattrick for the club.

VDC Athletic 0 - 2 Durrington FC
(FA Trophy 3rd Qual. Round)

View attachment 384809

We were very happy to progress to the next round in our first ever cup game. Matt Dinsmore continued his goal scoring run, taking his total to four in two games. We drew Macclesfield in the next round of the cup.

Havant & W 2 - 0 Durrington FC

View attachment 384807

Back to disappointment against Havant & W. It a shame we cant seem to find any consistency. Hopefully that will improve as the team starts to gel more.

Durrington FC 1 - 2 Macclesfield

View attachment 384806

So your first run in the cup ended in the first round, but we arent too disappointed. We put on a good performance, but the strength of the Skrill Premier side proved to be too much in the end.

I also signed Jake Thomson last month (forgot to post). He may not be the best of players, but he is a superb utility man, being able to play in every position, albeit not naturally in every one.

Durrington FC find some form

Despite the month not starting off in the best of fashions, Durrington FC went on to have a fairly strong month, winning four games in a row before losing their final games. After their first game, a terrible four-nil defeat at the hand of Basingstoke, manager Rollinson appears to have worked on tightening things up at the back. It seemed to have moderate success as they went on to win three game by a scoreline of two-nil and one match three-nil. The ended the month as they started though, with a loss, but this time the score was only one-nil

Basingstoke 4 - 0 Durrington FC

View attachment 384769

Hello? Defense, hello? Is anyone there? What a shocking game. Mistake after mistake and mistake at the back. We had six CCCs in this match, compared to Basingstoke's two. I had the team working very hard defensively after this match.

Durrington FC 2 - 1 Concord Rangers

View attachment 384768

We quickly got back to winning ways with a good two-one win over Concord Rangers. The defense seemed to do much better this game, with centre back Michael Bartlam winning the man of the match award.

Durrington FC 2 - 1 Weston-super-Mare

View attachment 384766

Another game, another two-one victory. Again we put on a good performance, and we were unlucky when captain Tom Jordan scored an unfortunate own goal. Man of the match once again went to one of our defenders.

Chelmsford 0 - 3 Durrington FC

View attachment 384765

We extended our run to three wins with a superb three-nil win against Chelmsford. Jacob Cleaver got his first ever goal for the club, as well as Dinsmore adding to his tally.

Durrington FC 2 - 1 Eastbourne Boro

View attachment 384761

We incredibly made it four win in four with another two-one victory against Eastbourne Boro. Elyon Egbeku got his seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot.

Durrington FC 0 - 1 Sutton Utd

View attachment 384760

We ended the month with a disappointing one-nil loss against twentieth placed Sutton Utd.

League Table

View attachment 384759

We are sat nicely in eleventh place and we are currently just four points away from the play-off positions. It is looking like we will easily achieve our goal of avoiding relegation, and perhaps if we can put together another good run, we will be able to make a late charge for a play-off position.

Durrington FC Waste All Their Hard Work

Durrington FC wasted all the hard work they put in last month after failing to win a single game this month. Their form took a turn for the worse, losing three of their games and drawing the other three. This awful turn of form has now left them eight points away from the play-off zone and only five points away from the drop zone. Rollinson will want to get them back on the defensive training again as they conseeded thirteen goals in the six games this month.

Whitehawk 3 - 2 Durrington FC

View attachment 384508

Despite having the stats, we managed to lose this game three-two. The high number of fouls is also slightly concerning.

Durrington FC 1 - 1 Staines

View attachment 384507

One again we dominated the stats, we only came away from this game with a draw. Matt Dinsmore again played well, getting himself on the scoresheet.

Durrington FC 3 - 3 Bishop's Stortford

View attachment 384506

Another thrilling home game, but not one you enjoy as a manager. After taking a two-nil lead, it was very disappointing to find ourselves losing with five minutes to go. Fortunately Diarra got his first every goal for the club in the ninety-fourth minute for get us a draw.

Tonbridge 2 - 1 Durrington FC

View attachment 384499

Yet more disappointment, this time away at Tonbridge. Hoping the lads will get through this sticky patch soon.

Eastleigh 1 - 1 Durrington FC

View attachment 384498

We were very fortunate to get anything out of this game, considering we didnt have a shot on target at all.

Durrington FC 1 - 3 Bromley

View attachment 384497

Once again a very disappointing result. Having spent ages training on defending, it was really disappointing to see us conseed three goals. There is much work to be done next month.

Tactical Tweaks Work For Rollinson

Rollinson made some a few tactical tweaks this month which appear to have worked superbly. After losing their first game three-two, Rollinson made some tweaks to his tactics, which went on to produced twelve goals in just three games. The first game with the new tactics produced a five-one win over Farnborough. Next up they beat Bath four-one, before the final game of the month which they won three-nil.

Maidenhead 3 - 2 Durrington FC

View attachment 384491

Another frustrating defeat for us. After this game I decided to tweak my tactic a little bit, which was much needed after the horrible run we went on.

Durrington FC 5 - 1 Farnborough

View attachment 384490

Superb! The team performed exceptionally well. The tweaks seem to have paid off. Jake Thomson has a superb game, winning himself the man of the match award. It was nice seeing goals being score from all over the pitch too.

Bath 1 - 4 Durrington FC

View attachment 384489

The new tactic is proving to be very good, and is not only getting the team to score more goals, but also defending much better as well. All the gloom from last month seems to be fading, and the future looks a lot brighter.

Durrington FC 3 - 0 Hayes & Yeading

View attachment 384488

Another excellent performance from us. We are looking really solid now. Matt Dinsmore, the clubs top goalscorer, took his tally to eleven goals in the league with a goal in this match.

League Table

View attachment 384485

After the scare of dropping near the relegation zone last month, it is a huge relief to see move ten points clear. We are also just six points away from the play-offs, so if we can keep up our hard work, and not slip again, we have an outside chance of making it.

ohh a bad month when the things mattered the most

Yeah, was such a terrible month. Glad we made up for it the month after though. We could be comfortable in the play-off zone if we had done better in January though.

Youth Intake Day

Its one of the most exciting days of the FM calendar, youth intake day! And this one certainly didnt disappoint. Every player has at least four and a half star potential. I was expecting one or two good players, but not all of them! There is also one player who will fit into the squad straight away. Here are some of the best players from the intake:

Durrington FC Continue Late Charge

Durrington FC kept up their good form, and are now within touching distance of the play-offs. They have picked a good time to find form. With just five games left of the season, they sit just three points behind fifth placed Maidenhead. This month they managed to produce three wins, one draw and one loss.

Dover 2 - 3 Durrington FC

View attachment 384398

We continued our good run with a three-two victory over Dover. Sam Toms had an excellent game for us, getting two assists as well as putting in a strong performance.

Durrington FC 1 - 2 Boreham Wood

View attachment 384397

Another game in which we dominated but came away with a draw. Two shots on target, two goals for Boreham Wood. Oh how we love Football Manager.

Ebbsfleet 2 - 2 Durrington FC

View attachment 384394

A game with two own goals left us with a draw against Ebbsfleet.

Dorchester 4 - 6 Durrington FC

View attachment 384392

Match of the season so far. Goals, goals, goals. Goddard and Dinsmore both came off with injuried, but fortunately they were only for a couple of days. Goddard is putting on some really good performances this season, and I would love to get him in on a permanent basis.

Weston-super-Mare 1 - 3 Durrington FC

View attachment 384390

Once again Jordan Goddard grabbed the headlines, despite Dinsmore getting two goals to take his tally to fourteen this season. Goddard now has thirteen assists in the league, which puts him in second place on the assists chart.

League Table

View attachment 384389

Our late charge has put us just three points away from the play-offs. With just five games left of the season, it is going to be close, but it would be a fantastic if we could reach the play-offs.

Come on! You can do it!

Just gotta hope your defence can actually perform! :P

Durrington FC Finish Ninth In First Season

Despite falling at the last hurdle of a later promotion charge, it has no doubt been an excellent season for Durrington FC. The media had them as certain relegation candidates, but they have done exceptionally well to finish in a respectable position. They have certainly given the league plenty of enjoyment with high scoring games, including a five-three and six-four victory, both over Dorchester. Thats eighteen goals in two games! Their defense has been dodgy all season, but up top they certainly have no troubles.

Durrington FC 1 - 4 Havant & W

View attachment 384373

This result all but ended any hopes of a play-off position. We put on a poor performance when we needed it most, and the players are especially disappointed.

Durrington FC 3 - 1 Basingstoke

View attachment 384370

We restored some pride with a three-one victory over Basingstoke. Egbeku got himself two goals to take his total up to fifteen.

Durrington FC 4 - 5 Chelmsford

View attachment 384369

Another ridiculous game. We definitely have seen our fair share of goals this season. We were shocking for the first forty minutes, and found ourselves four-nil down with five minutes of the half remaining. Amazingly though, we went in at half time at four-two. Annoyingly we were unable to use this to win the game. Very disappointing against the team second from bottom.

Concord Rangers 3 - 1 Durrington FC

View attachment 384368

Fourth placed Concord Rangers were just to much for us this game. Despite being a fairly even game, they took their chances, while we did not.

Eastbourne Boro 1 - 4 Durrington FC

View attachment 384367

At least we ended the season on a high. A very nice four-one victory.

League Table

View attachment 384366

Ninth place. Cannot argue with that. At the start of the season I would have taken nineteenth place. Lots of positives on show, we just need to improve on our defense next season.

Durrington FC End Of Season Awards

So the end of our first season has come to a close, and it has been extremely successful. At the beginning of the season the chairman tasked the side with avoiding relegation, which is exactly what we did. We gave our fans some really excellent performances, and no doubt several heart attacks! Next season I hope to improve on our ninth place finish and push for a play-off position. Our defense does need some work before that can happen though.

Defender Of The Year

View attachment 384358

Mamadou Gomes was the best defender for us this season. He missed just four games all season because of injury. He scored twice and got five assists. We have also managed to extend his loan until the end of next season.

Midfielder Of The Year

View attachment 384355

Jordan Goddard proved to be a truly amazing signing on loan for us. He found some excellent form in the second half of the season, and got himself eleven goals for the side. He also got fifteen assists and well and five man of the match awards.

Forward Of The Year

View attachment 384353

Matt Dinsmore has been in great form all season. He has contributed with both goals and assists this season. He scored sixteen goals and fourteen assists, which was joint second highest in the league. He also won two man of the match awards.

So now the season is over, does anyone have any feedback? Is everyone liking the layout? Does anyone have any players they would recommend?

So now the season is over, does anyone have any feedback? Is everyone liking the layout? Does anyone have any players they would recommend?

Very good season saying you are a new team, entirely new players, and should have really been battling against relegation, 9th is a great achievement!

Layout is good, would!

I would recommend signing Kevin Volland... absolute beast! ;) haha

Take a look at league 2 players who have been released, you may hopefully be able to tempt a couple of them :)

Season Two - Pre-season Thoughts

After an extremely successful season last time around, expectations are much higher this time around. As mentioned before, my aim was to survive in season one, and then push for promotion in the second season. My expectations have stayed exactly the same. We have retained all but two players we signed permanently last season, and we have made four new signings (excluding bringing in Tarbie in on a free transfer).

As you can see, I have tried to amend the defensive frailties at the club, with three of the four new signings being defenders. I also have high hopes for O'Callaghan, who looks like he should be a fantastic signing at this level.

loving this story mate! See if Dan Holman has been released from Braintree... He is a Beast.

Durrington FC Continue As The Left Off

Durrington FC are still proving to be very hit and miss, playing extremely well in their first two games, and playing poorly in the last two. Their opening game was always going to a tough one against last season beaten play-off finalists Concord Rangers. After going one-nil down, Durrington came back strong and won the game four-one. Next up they beat Dorchester two-one, before they lost one-nil to Basingstoke and two-one to Tonbridge.

Durrington FC 4 - 1 Concord Rangers

View attachment 384056

What a great start to the season! A four-one victory over last seasons finalists. We performed very well, and Egbeku got his scoring campaign up and running pretty quickly this season. Dinsmore also got his first goal too. Annoyingly O'Callaghan picked up an injury which will rule him out for eight months.

Dorchester 1 - 2 Durrington FC

View attachment 384053

Once again we went one-nil down pretty early, but again responded well and got a victory. Egbeku scored his third goal of the season.

Durrington FC 0 - 1 Basingstoke

A tight game ended in a defeat which came from an own goal from Bartlam.

Tonbridge 2 - 1 Durrington FC

Another close game in which we came out with a loss. We need to work a little harder in these close games to try and produce a win.
