Tip for season 2 in C1!
LOAN EVERY GOD **** PLAYER YOU CAN! You wont need them next season so why offer them a contract that is useless and pay ridiculous fees? I loaned over 30 players and that means I can play friendlies all season long if I wanted! Brilliant! :D

Right, so the last 3 games of the 2nd season were upon me, I was to play league leaders Empoli, way out of this league, I was 2nd 9 points behind them so this game really mattered. I pushed my team to the limit they didn't respond, at half time we were 2-0 down and automatic promotion dreams looked dashed. I told the team that they still had a chance, and brought on the best players I could using my full 3 substitutions. Nothing seemed to work 60 minutes in, nothing, then suddenly a break and I'm only 1 down! A quick second then followed and I had amazingly pulled back level, know know the comback king achievement was in sight! Nothing happened, injury time came and there it was, an easy tap in and I won 3-2! Dramatic match, best of the season. Despite the win and winning the next 2 matches I only managed 2nd place with Empoli winning both their matches too. Playoffs here I come!

The first leg of my semi final started well with an own goal from a Portosummaga I never expected to cause me a problem, win no win in 5 games, it was mine for the taking. The first half drew to a close but unfortunately in the 43rd minute I scored an own goal of my own. So next came the 2nd half I put my self ahead and then doubled that lead quickly as expected. They then piled on the pressure, a few CCC were made but never tucked away, I was then awarded a penalty and all doubt was set aside when I went 4-1 up. To add insult to injury I managed a 5th in the last 10 minutes to make an easy 2nd leg at home.

I recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory in the second leg with a weak side play, final here I come!

Again in the Final's first round I look to coast to victory 4-0 in the away leg and finally the home leg is where I will win it! Stats show that I had 17(11) Shots (SOT) to their 0(0) 57% possession is also impressive!

A relaxed one nil win. Don't you love double promotions? :P
Seria B here I come! Big challenge now! Any suggestions?

gotta love back to back promotions! well done!

serie B is hard, to gain another consecutive promotion would really be something special.

I think there's a big difference regarding standard of football: serie C1 and C2 are not so different, while Serie B requires a much higher quality squad so new quality signings will be the key!

There's a little serie B guide at page 4, post 91 in this thread maybe it will offer you some advice :P
 
Thanks mate! Almost forgot about friendlies ;) Now have almost 50 friendlies books and no squad... oops. ;)
 
This is a fantastic challenge, Quality story aswell Kanderson, This is how my first season went :)

After losing the 1st game of the season 2-1 at home against L' Aquila we have been dominant all season. We changed to a 4-2-4 for the second half of the season due to injuries and the goals have been coming easily. Bring on Seria C1/B!

Two questions though, I would be grateful if any of you veteran pros could help me out!

1. How much does it cost to buy the olimpico?

2. If you dont start as the NT manager, how long does it take for them to accept your job application (using the add manager method)?

that was a very good season, serie A is one step closer now ;)

as for your questions:

1. my boardroom never considered buying the stadium, but allowed several expansions through the years (Olimpico reached 20,000+ seats in 2017 in my first save) which was enough for me :P

2. in that same save this was a big issue for me: in 2017 I had won a Serie A championship, was playing CL football regularly (runner up in one occasion), world class reputation, sammarinese as second nationality... but they kept hiring Andy Selva or any other obscure manager from the tiny sammarinese league.. I think Ubernisation (greatest veteran of SM challenge) managed to get the job in 2020 or so and tbh playing with the NT until you get some decent regens is a nightmare.. but when I had to restart the challenge I also started as the NT manager just to be sure
 
Just started a new career with san marino in seria c two. few questions

Will I go to C A if i get promoted?
Is promotion a realistic aim?
 
you go Serie C2, C1, B, then A
and you should be winning the league first season and challenging for promotion second season at a minimum really

I have some business these months so I couldn't play this challenge... However I'll be back soon. I am really frustrated, everything with the club is perfect, serie A champs, CL champ 2 times and other magical stuff, but I can't get the job. In year 2020. :S good luck to all new and old players and special hi to my san marinese buddy kanderson!

hi Monfils, that's a shame about the NT job, keep trying! add manager/retire all season long, maybe you'll get lucky... I had restarted and took over NT from the start (nightmare), was flying in C1 but now I always get the low virtual memory crash and basically can't play FM11 :'(

iv sacked the national manager to try get the the job there to is this ok to do so i have both jobs

yeah this is the greatest challenge ;)

it's ok to sack the NT manager though I'm almost sure the FA won't give you the job so early. But if you start with the NT and immediately apply for the club job you will most likely get it (worked for me when I restarted the challenge)

cool cool thanks for telling me that iv done this challenge every game that iv play in fm an champ man thats let me lol thats good to know that its possible to do its a lot less hassle lol

People cant become San Marinese by staying there in the country for any length of time

haha It happened to me against holland too

I think managing NT is pointless until san marino gets some half decent regens, no tactic can help so in my last save I just holidayed the national games and let it all to my superstar assistant Carlos Queiroz, from squad selection to press. BTW results still the same...

in second season Ragini from the U-20 started looking somewhat promising (wouldn't play him even in C2 though) and Palermo produced an interesting sammarinese centre-back, but to see some consistent improvement in the NT you'll have to wait at least 10 years
