I just can't see klopp or ancelloti joining liverpool. I think klopp will join bayern next year and ancelloti is taken a year out. De boer is a more likely fit as moving from Ajax to Liverpool is a step up. Like carragher said Liverpool are not a big club anymore, yes you have an enourmas amout of history, a history only challenged by United in this country but I just don't see klopp or ancelloti as they could pretty much have their pick of jobs as they come up. Would koeman or de boer with carragher as assistant float the boat of the Liverpool faithful?

Not gonna' argue the still massive attraction or not of Liverpool Football Club across the Continent as I'm still buzzing from the brilliant news of Rodgers being done.

Just wanted to say regardless of whether Klopp comes here or not, I'll lay good money he goes NOWHERE near Munich. IMHO, he has not only too much love and respect for Dortmund and their fans, but the bad blood with Bayern raping his team blind isn't easily forgotten.

It's just lazy journalism for me linking him with the top club in his Country.

There could be a job at Chelsea before to long and both ancelloti and klopp would rarther manage there I'm sue, more finances and London. Klopp would be the best option as he is used to selling his best players every season and worked wonder with Dortmund, I just think he'll wait for something bigger as he might not want the same as what he got at Dortmund.

Cant see Ancelotti going back to Chelsea

We shall see. I think you may well be surprised but we shall see.

Macca has just posted Klopp will be our next manager. Omg I hope he is right. Fingers and toes crossed.

He'd be my 2nd choice after Ancelotti, but if it is indeed Jurgen, the away end at Tottenham a week Sat'day lunch time will be absolutely bouncing.

Klopp will be a massive hit with the kopites. He'll bring the roar of Anfield back. Make it a fortress once again.

Yup. He's the one man that would unify everyone. Even those that were vainly clinging on to Rodgers would of swapped him for Klopp.

If FSG get this right, and he's given the time and FULL backing to build it his way; we're back in the game.

Roll on later today. (Monday.) Get this done ASAP.

If Klopp signed with us tomorrow I'd insist on us having a celebratory pint at The Albert.

Gold!

In all seriousness though, I really feel for Rodgers. He really tried to do the best he could, and I can't help wonder what might have been if a little more luck had fallen his way. I do think it's the best move though, and I really hope that Klopp or Ancelotti comes in.

At the end of the day people have got what they wanted and If we end up with one of those managers being mentioned nobody can really complain

But i'll always like Brendan for one season alone - It was the best season I've ever watched as a fan and he was literally a Gerrard slip, a Henderson red card or a result at Palace away from legendary status. One of those three not happening and Liverpool won the league that year

But onwards and upwards!

I was a BR fan, still am, but apart from "that" season, he's done very little to convince fans and critics!
And also, the biggest factor that season wasn't Brendan if I'd be honest, it was Luis Suarez!
Also, the fact we threw away the title once Henderson was out seemed to highlight BR's lack of tactical geniusness imo, or whatever else it may have been, BR should have prepared the team better!
And Kolo Toure passing that ball- IF ONLY BR could have convinced Carra to hold on for another year, we wouldn't have signed Kolo, and the rest would have been "history"!

Playing players out of positions- Markovic, Can, Ibe, Sterling... No proper tactic to gel the team... Tweaking with tactics, no set plan or vision- that's what we looked like for the last 15 months or so..

And well, Liverpool winning a mere 20 points from the previous 17! That's a ****** relegation statistic!

And even if for once we could excuse all that, how do you justify not having your team "up" for games against Man Utd and Everton!

The away record under BR against top 4 teams and Everton has been utterly pathetic, and things needed a change!

KlOpP for the KOP!

Honestly don't feel for him at all Pat,

The club had completely and utterly stagnated under him. From the players through the supporters. Going the match was just NO fun anymore. Nobody went expecting to win. Regardless of WHO we were playing. (Carlisle pre-game was a glaring, recent disgraceful example.).

He continually played players out of position. Persisted with his favourites no matter how **** poor they were. Came up with a multitude of ridiculous, desperate formations that not only changed game-to-game, but often during frigging games. His stubbornness was off the charts. That tweet above about Allen encapsulates all that was wrong with his tenure. The decision to not replace Mingolet alone two seasons running defied belief. Making Henderson the captain in a team desperately searching for leaders was moronic in itself. And the utter embarrassing bollocks he was coming out with to the media was cringe worthy.

Too many are getting duped by '13/'14 when you could well justifiably argue he cost us the league as close as he came to winning it. Both in his bollocks tactics and substitutions the last three. And his complete neglect of setting up the team defensively at any point that year to aid a career year from Suarez and fit Sturridge for the vast majority of it. 53 goals we conceded. With the career year Suarez had we should of had the league locked up before the Chelsea bollocks if he gave a **** about defending.

He'd sent the fans to as equally low ebb as what Hodgson had and Anfield in particular was a horrible place to go watch football this season with the absolute boring tedium he put out.

No sympathy for him at all. I'll thank him for the roller coaster of '13/'14 as he was the manager. (As much as I blame him for costing us #19.).

But the rest of it has been pretty consistent carnage.

Good riddance.

by the way, no Roberto Di Matteo please!

Klopp or Ancelotti, or if possible, the best manager if available- Guus Hiddink!

It's either going to be Klopp or Ancelotti, pretty sure of that. Just want it done now.

Really buzzing at the prospects going forward,

If they act swift (and I'm expecting a quick announcement), get one of the top two in, and change the way they go about things; FSG can still make an extraordinary return on their investment with a return to smart, attractive, Liverpool football. A reason for fans to go back the match excited and happy with a sense of pride instead of doing it out of loyalty with a sense of dread for what they were about to witness.

I believe they've finally accepted money ball football doesn't work today and they'll have to go all out and get the very best there is and back him to the hilt. The reliable beat guys all say they're prepared to rip up the current module and change the whole upper management structure and give the new guy full control. Which can only be a great thing in itself. The way they've acted so swiftly is a positive right there and feels like a MASSIVE weight has been lifted that was dragging the club down. And with the league barely started, and the cups still in play; this year could yet have a fantastic turnaround with a competent man at the helm.

Genuinely real excited about what could finally be the new era we've craved for SO long now.

You guys can take Klopp if we can have Ancelotti at Milan, deal??

Both my clubs prospects jumping through the roof over night? With Rangers storming back to the top tier in Scotland.

DEAL! Sports suddenly looks real fun again! :).
