We had too bro'. We had too.

Just a shame some fella' currently out in Cal never got to experience this genuine hope.

If one guy ever deserved the chance of serious success with his club, it was that man.

Well, there has been talk of including Gerrard in the coaching team, but only if Klopp is not opposed to it. But in any case, he deserved it while wearing the captain's armband yeah.

Yeah do not begrudge Pool it at all, no mateer what anyone says still a massive club. Do have a little soft spot for y'all, when I was young someone bpught me a Liverpool FC history book and a pretty thick one at that, they figured whats the difference between Leeds and Liverpool ;) . But being the book worm I am i read it cover to cover, I mean this is how detailed a book it was I know who Elisha Scott and how he was one of the first (successful) smaller shotstopping keepers. Dunno **** just stays with you, but yeah do not begrudge Pool it at all.

Thanks mate. Very kind, magnanimous words.

Appreciated. Good luck with (hopefully) a promotion push.

A few notes on Klopp/Dortmund from a Norwegian Eurosport commentator who has followed Bundesliga closely:

-He might not be a pro on diets and sports science and that sort of stuff, but could very well be the best in the world when it comes to inspiring his players.
-His Dortmund side did very well against opponents that played the ball and allowed room for Dortmund to counter in, but struggled more against organized defences.
-Klopp tried changing formations from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2 to solve this, but only succeeded sporadically.
-Nuri Sahin was the one who was supposed to control the midfield in these scenarios as a creative outlet, but this too only worked on some occasions.
-Klopp seemed to lack a proper plan B in these cases.
-In his last season with Dortmund, losing Lewandowski and having Reus (among others) out injured contributed to the poor season - a parallel could be drawn to Liverpool with the loss of Suarez and Sturridge out injured.
-They also struggled with efficiency, often creating more chances than their opposition but struggled to score, while "everything" seemed to hit the net in the other end.
-His style of play demands a lot physically from the players, something that arguably contributed to the injury crisis they faced in his last season.
-The defensive line is often very high, which could put defenders in difficult 1on1's or awkward situations, but works very well when the gegenpressing works as intended.

The lack of a plan B along with losing/injuries on key players and inefficiency sounds far too familiar, doesn't it? Don't get me wrong, I'm still optimistic as ****, but I do realize there are no guarantees in football.

Also, according to Sky Sports, Klopp has now been in direct contact with the owners.

FSG would also like either Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard on the coaching staff apparently, but that decision is entirely down to Klopp

Rumours Didi Hamann will be a coach.

Probably not a 'big' enough club for JC after the utter B/S he came out with Sunday.

Robbie's openly put himself forward now he's got his badges which would be brilliant. Can't see Stevie coming back so soon. And there's no rush there. He'll be back at some point. But enjoy the States and get some different experiences out there on the coaching side first. No rush.

I'm all Klopped out ha ha reading and watching as we wait for what seems likely Thursday, but I loved this from one of the greatest players of all time .....

Beckenbauer, who has worked alongside Klopp as a pundit on German television, believes Liverpool will be getting one of the finest coaches in world football should they seal the deal. Germany’s World Cup winning captain and manager said: “He is fantastic. He is one of the best coaches I know in the whole world and he was really a milestone for Borussia Dortmund. He took over the club and made them into a world-class team. If Liverpool has the chance to sign Jürgen Klopp, then they should do it. He likes to talk. There are not many coaches left in the world that like to talk so much to the players but he is one of them

“Liverpool is also one of the biggest clubs in the world, so Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp is definitely a good combination. He is also a winner.”

Funny that last line. We keep being told the opposite. :D.

He's not exactly going to say "Liverpool are a club middling about, being big in the same way as AC Milan are", is he?

So, latest news from Barrett and Hunter is that Klopp is coming to Merseyside on Thursday to put pen to paper. He's apparently encouraged by the talks so far and wants to get the formalities done. The talks have now advanced to discussions on his staff, with Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz being mentioned. He's also set to earn "considerably more" than the £3.6m per year he had at Dortmund. Confirmation will likely be on Friday.

(ignore the words)

can't remember the last time when such feel good factor existed among the Liverpool fans.. maybe when Suarez was scoring for fun? or when the owners changed?
after Istanbul?

hopefully Klopp's appointment can act as a catalyst and change things for us and our season..

it has been shocking to watch the kop at times virtually non-existent at Anfield! it seemed the club, fans were devoid of their soul...

from such a dispassionate low, the only way is up and up and up! and high we go now!

I think he was spot on, which is half the problem as the majority of the fanbase disagree

The club has had two of the biggest and most sort after names in World football ready to talk.

But we're 'just another 'Spurs.'

I think on Sunday he was being a sensationalist ***** for who he works for.

But enough of that. 48 hours or less until utopia!

"The situation that Liverpool find themselves in now, it's not just for Brendan, this has been going on for a long time - even when I was there," he said. "We talk about Arsenal but Liverpool have won one Carling Cup in 10 years.
"Liverpool are becoming Tottenham, think they're a big club but the real big clubs are not too worried about them - who they buy, what they're going to do - that's the situation as it's become for Liverpool, even when I was there at the end.
"I'm not just blaming Brendan Rodgers and this set of players. What are these owners of the club going to do to get Liverpool back where they need to be?
"That's consistently in the Champions League and challenging for trophies because at this moment we're becoming a team who think we're a big club but we're not."

I can't see much wrong in there

- We have been poor for a number of years in the league, regularly finishing between 5th-8th
- When we have qualified for Europe we have been knocked out fairly early
- We haven't won trophies regularly or come close

Liverpool are a big name because of their history and are a big club off the field, but on it that reputation started losing it's appeal years ago because of the results and recent success

Apart from the exception that was 13/14, Spurs have been outfinishing you, and outperformed you when in Europe for the last several years. So hes actually right in that regard. On a longer term scale you're effectively Ac Milan.

Bang on. Like I said. It's basically AC Milan.
