Well hey, it plays into your defense for Rodgers achieving 'parity' despite the woefully awful performances and complete dysfunction on the pitch to achieve that so I don't suppose you would Marshall.

But again, enough of that. The Tottenham clone that think they're bigger than they are are about to confirm one of the most sort after guys in football who we've been consistently told we'd have no chance of with potentially (alleged) bigger clubs like Munich, Citeh and Chelsea on the possible horizon and that's ALL my excitement is interested in.

We could be looking at this:

Manager: Jürgen Klopp
Assistant Manager: Zeljko Buvac (often referred to as "the brain" because of his tactical knowledge and training field expertise. Basically confirmed)
Chief Scout/Analyst: Peter Krawietz (Basically confirmed)
GK Coach: Wolfgang de Beer (Unconfirmed, still at Dortmund)
Fitness Coach: Andreas Beck (Unconfirmed, still at Dortmund)
Other possible staff members: Dietmar Hamann, Markus Babbel, Sami Hyypiä

It seems he will sign a three year contract - that is, this season + another three years. Every known media has confirmed this now, including German ones. Contract signing tomorrow, confirmation on Friday. Also lots of beer Friday night.

I'm in Antwerp Friday for a friends wedding Saturday, so I think I'll stick to spirits. That ridiculous strength Belgium beer knocks you on your *** WAY too quick ha ha.

Talking of, this is looking more and more like a marriage made in heaven. I'm as giddy about our club as I can remember for a LONG time.

I seriously can not WAIT for next Saturday down at 'Spurs. That be absolutely BOUNCING!

Seeing as Scouse supports both, that's some next level trashtalk there, Mike.

Smiles.

I'm just basking in most every other top 4 club's fans (and Everton but they don't count ha ha) being jealous of one of the most sort after guys in football heading to little L'pool. Whether they'll openly admit it or not.

The high we're all on not even an Exocet missile could knock us off.

I'll be mixing beer with rum&coke myself, that always seems to do the trick!

Bang on. Like I said. It's basically AC Milan.

In the last ten years Milan have won Serie A, Champions League, Super Cup, Supercoppa Italiana and the Club World Cup. So not exactly cupless.

The money went and the last 8 or 9 years have been **** haha

Before this year the last player bought for over 10ish million was Balotelli in 2012/2013 I think it was.

Now we should have some cash to spend in the next few transfer windows

Just wondering if Ancelotti or Klopp dosent come to Liverpool. Who else there is, you guys would like?

Not even contemplated that as it's been pretty apparent either would be the next manager. The only criteria it would of had to of been someone proven and experienced. They'd tried the cheap way of a novice learning on the job. Experienced was the only other way to go.

But bar an absolute shock, the German's all but signed up so I'm not even gonna' tempt fait with other names.

From a coaching side it's certainly better than what Brenda had but in terms of recruitment you're missing two key ingredients that made Dortmund so successful under Klopp... Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Be interesting to see where FSG go from what they've currently had.

Just the mere fact of Klopp having the final say and a far bigger influence on targets along with Krawietz with Ayre and Gordon, two of our biggest problems, out of the process until the financial end would be a massive step forward.

Well, Watzke didn't really have all that much to say on the actual football, it was more the financial aspect. And financially we've done a lot better under FSG than with H&G.

As for Zorc, sure, I'd love to have him. But while Zorc brought in players, it was ultimately Klopp's responsibility to manage these players. Klopp didn't bring in many, if any, players himself. In that respect, not much will change in Liverpool which is probably why it has been reported that the Transfer Committee system won't pose problems for Klopp.

The question is rather whether the Transfer Committee will be able to identify the right players. While Klopp didn't do the recruiting himself, no players were brought in against his will, and that part is key I feel. Klopp has a lot stronger personality and presence than Brendan, and I trust that he has gotten guarantees that he won't be overrun by the Committee, as reports have suggested.

Take a player like Markovic, who was bought for £20m and who I personally had high hopes for. Brendan never gave him a fair chance, and ended up sending him on loan. This is a player I think Klopp could have found a use for, with his high pace, ability to press and direct style of play. Or take Moreno, who Brendan kept trying to find an excuse to bench. He should fit in well with Klopp's style of play. The same could be said about players like Firmino, Sakho and perhaps even Ilori (at least his quickness is well suited to Klopp's high defensive line).

Benteke, on the other hand, I'm still unsure of. Yes, I'm aware he was on Dortmund's radar a couple years ago, but I would still have to see him prosper under Klopp before I can believe it. Balotelli though, now there's a player Klopp would never agree to sign. I can't even see him pressing a shirt. But I do have a strong feeling that Can will prosper under Klopp, although I think he could prosper under anyone given the playing time (and correct usage). AFAIK he's the only one in the squad who speaks German (not sure about Firmino and not counting Yesil). I think he will develop a strong relationship with Klopp, with the latter being able to get messages across without them being lost in translation. I have high expectations of him.

****, we could have Ayre as a DoF and I'd still be more optimistic as long as Klopp is the manager.

Neither a dig nor jealousy, despite what Scouse wants to think. Not everything is about "attacking Liverpool. Not every bit of balance is some evil, like Carragher on Liverpool

AJ, I know AC's record well. But even now with their 90m spend they are again in a bit of trouble. 9 years is a long time for a club like Milan.

Speaking of tactical versatility, does anyone remember in 2014 when he beat Bayern 3-0 at the Allianz with Lewandowski, who had agreed to join Bayern, on the bench? I remember reading about what a tactical masterclass it was

First choice after those is definitely Unai Emery, if he can be tempted away from Sevilla, along with his DOF Monchi

Your posts? Meh, never took them as either mate. Why I never responded. That was just a general point.

But good to know not everything is an attack on L'pool. **** knows we (justifiably more often than not) do enough of that between ourselves in this thread ha ha.

Speaking hypothetically (as Klopp is basically confirmed), I'd say Emery and Simeone. Don't think that would happen though, at this time.

I know you haven't said it's realistic, but I can't understand why people have been trying to link us to Simeone, or saying that we should appoint him. There is absolutely zero chance of him leaving Atletico for anyone in the foreseeable future, with the possible exception of the Argentina job
