It's refreshing to see a Liverpool fan talk about the future, rather than bang on about the past :)

Lol. F*****!

You're slowly traveling down that road my friend. What is it now? 3 years this year? 3 years turns into 4 turns into 5 and before you know it you're 26 years down the line. Again! :P.

I'll cross that bridge if it comes.
I was actually being nice.

I've said it on other forums.
I really hope Liverpool replace the likes of Chelsea and City at the top of the table.

Context is hard without direct human interaction.

Jurgen Klopp has more away wins versus 'Top 4' in six weeks than Brendan Rodgers had in three years.

Indeed. We had won 1 of our last 14 away matches against the Mancester teams, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Klopp has 2/2.

This is almost as embarrassing as the "how am i doing boss?" images of shankly and rodgers. Losing one game wont make him regret it. Hes playing with better players and playing CL footy in a side with a considerably better chance of winning a title

I'm sure he won't regret it. He's got the bank balance he wanted so why would he?

As for the respective clubs chances of success, in the short term no question that lies with City. Long term now though is another matter still to be determined.

He's also got the CL football he wanted. Only the blind and bitter will ignore that.

Long term, they have better resources, better funding, better youth academies, and more room to gorow. They are much better placed than Liverpool are, and recent history is already showing the the long term benefits coming in.

I'm just gonna' smile and leave that as we've gone around and around on him and we're never gonna' agree on either him or how it went down so thee's no need to go over it all again.

As for the respective future prospects of both clubs, well, we'll see where we all stand this time next year. That'll be a clearer gauge.

Say what you want, but the petroboys are managing City a lot smarter than any other multibillionaires that I've seen.

Kloppmania.

Not been on this to comment, but what a win that was! Every single one of them played there part.

And while I'm loving all the praise for Coutinho and Firmino, I think Lallana deserves it just as much as anyone on that pitch. They were all brilliant at closing down but he does it to a complete other standard. And is looking a different player under Klopp!

But yeah some of the touches and flicks between Coutiho and Firmino were football ****. Was brilliant to watch.

We're in a really good place already under Klopp, Champions League football doesn't sound so silly again, hopefully he gets us there!

Its a great feeling being excited for every game again!

I was talking to a blue yesterday who was making the great point that he's completely redefining the way everyone's been conditioned to think on football in the Premier League era.

Too many games? Meh, this is football. If you want to be successful, you want more games and just get on with it. Same with long haul European travel and Europa League games. We want to do well in Europe and it's no different Thursday-Sunday than Wednesday-Saturday in the Champions League. Tiredness? Meh, we'll decide when your tired. NOT anyone outside. We're not making changes for changes sake and disrespecting competitions like the Europa. Players injured? Meh, that's football. Can't worry about those not available. Next man up and get on with it. And nobody get's rushed back until you're fully fit to be able to do what we require. Away games at Chelsea and City? Screw going to contain and looking to not get beat. We're gonna' go (within a game plan for the opposition) to win. EVERY game.

This is us. We're gonna' go out, work our behinds off for 90 minutes and give you one heck of a game. Regardless of who we have available to play. Or how far we've travelled that week or how many more games e've had to play than you. And what will be will be. We get beat? Meh, it's football. We gave it everything. Onto the next game.

As he said it's a throw back to the days of Paisley and Shankly in that attitude and the excuse culture that prevails in so much of the modern game is being taken away. Just a completely different and refreshing attitude to everything we've been used to being told.

To be fair, he's not redefining that much. He's simply doing what the likes of Ferguson, Benitez (Liverpool and Chelsea), Pellegrini, LVG did and do (strictly PL im talking here): play to win it all. None of these managers ever put out a side that they did not expect to win the game, you play to win. Everyone from star player to youth on the bench is expected to win the game they play. You can't win a league without the mindset of winning every game, from rival match to league cup game

Maybe that's different to what Liverpool have been doing the last few years so in that case he is redefining, but wouldn't say even Premiership for Liverpool because Benitez played to win, and that would be very dismissive of what he achieved at the club, Klopp's got a long way to go before he reaches him, let alone Shankly and Paisley.

Klopp's just being smart. His style of play only works if people buy into the hard work, it's a high energy game, if you do not work, for 90, you will get shredded. This is what happened before he left Dortmund. And in terms of europe, the Europa league is still the best chance of silverware and CL football, so it's two birds with one.

Of course he worries about tiredness Scouse, the first thing he did was have a pop at the FA for overworking young players. Counter pressing doesn't work if you do have tired players.

It's not a redefinition, it's a manager who has won silverware bringing a mindset that wins silverware.

Benitez's philosophy was to play for a point. That's how he set his teams up. Anything above and beyond that was a bonus. You start with a point. The least you can do is finish with one. It was the most tediously boring, sterile football imaginable the majority of the time.

But you're missing the point on what he was saying.

Not really, he's here to take away the excuses and change the mentality. Nothing groundbreaking about that, just what managers who know what it takes to win silverware do, and it's not just about the first team, you change the mentality of the whole club.
