Guys looking back at it. He does clip him. Although you could argue benteke was already going down when he clipped him.

I'd say officiating his hit lower than gutter level. The governing bodies don't have the balls to punish cheats. Just reward them

(edited post because hit wrong button and ended up editing your post by mistake lol)

Football makes all this money and yet has long been far behind the state of officiating in comparison to Rugby which has always been way ahead with video technology.

Video technology can't come soon enough for football, referees are making these types of decisions are happening more and more in the game.

And I'm not just saying it because it's in Liverpool favour. I mean something like that happens on Thursday Rashford against Flanagen in the final minutes then we'll see how many Liverpool fans think that was a penalty. It's a really really bad decision.

Jesus Christ what a horrible game. Didn't deserve ****, but McCarthy wanted otherwise and Benteke got sniped. That's not how I want us to win games, it tastes bitter as ****.

Bruh i'll take any decision that comes our way this season.

There's no debate he clips him. It's soft, but it's a penalty. Again, Ledley can have NO complaints. Stay on your feet in the box that late. He may of pulled back, but his momentum on the wet turf takes him into the back of Banteke and his knee clips his ankle. Any players going down there when he feels that contact.

Yeah i'm sure we would all rip into benteke if he stayed on his feet. In todays game if your clipped in the box you have every right to go down. You could say its a dive or you could say benteke was clever. Depends how you see it.

He's going down before the contact, give over, it's one of the most blatant dives I've ever seen lol.

Flanno's not in the Europa League squad but I'm initially screaming 'WTF are you doing ******** running the risk? Stay on yer feet!' ..... Then when I see it back at home and the contact I'm going even more nuts with him for throwing the game.

It was an example, if albeit a bad one.

Point is it's one of the most blatant dives I've seen and obviously it's great for you as you get 3 points from nothing. But for the game of football it highlights how mediocre officiating is and how badly we need video technology to reverse these bad decisions in game time, just like Rugby does.

Would they reverse this decision if there was contact. Im not so sure.

EDIT: Holy ****, there was actually contact. I totally missed that on the first replay.

It was ***** for an hour. Then when we down to ten men I thought the fighting spirit and effort was fantastic.

We're becoming the new Utd under Ferguson with all the late winners. You NEVER want to leave a L'pool game early under Klopp.

Contact the player he's going down. ANY player. Stupid challenge. Stay on your feet and don't run the risk.

Palace can't complain. Soft, but his knee goes into him from behind.

He's going down before the contact, is it only me who sees a blatant dive?

Or have we got to the stage where in football if a fly touches a player and he goes down like that it must be a penalty?

Pardew's a frigging embarrassment. 'Yeah, Delaney shouldn't go to ground. But he's pulling out. If he gives it for the touch of his knee on his foot that's harsh and shouldn't of been.'

Contradict yourself much ********? Your player went to ground. Regardless of whether he's pulling out or not he contacts him. As you admit. Soft it may be, but your player is an idiot who cost you the game. On Benteke who was going nowhere. Look at him instead of narking at Carragher and the officials.

Im not arguing that its not a dive. It probably is. However benteke gets lucky that he gets clipped. Slightly. The last part you answered your question yourself.

Anywhere else on the pitch I can't even see it being considered a foul.

But anyway, officiating is *****, we know that. Luckily today it has gone in Liverpool's favour and it has won you 3 points.

But for any fan thinking that was not a dive, if it happens to you at some point in the season you'll probably feel as hard done by as the Palace fans no doubt do now.

I can't get my head round how you or anyone else thinks they're hard done to. Go to ground. Make contact. Concede a penalty. It's not even open to debate.

You know I'm the first to slam us when it's warranted but Delaney and Palace can't have any complaints there.

Karma MF!
