Villarreal are anything but average...

Yeah agreed, they are just running out of steam a bit and are in a bit of a rough patch 2nd or 3rd win in 12 last night IIRC. Last night probably not a true reflection although I personally though they gave a decent account of themselves even though I was only half watching. Seemed decent passing and movement just lacked that cutting edge but I think Soldado is going through one of his barren spells too.

Edit - maybe I have Villareals recent form mixed up with Soldado's recent form will check.

Edit 2 just checked won 6 of the last 12, could have sworn I saw something that said they had won 1 in last 11. I dunno anyway they are a good outfit nonetheless

Edit 3 Soldado has 1 in 12 I must have read that in a pre match thing and had a brain fart. Apologies.

They looked very average last night. We should have took advantage of that.

I think what is happening or rather starting to happen is that teams are figuring out Pools style a bit. This is probably down to Klopp not having the personnel he wants or whatever. Ive caught a couple of games recently anyway I mean you guys will know more than I.

But what it looks like to me is your set piece frailties aside is that opening 20 or so you are playing at such a tempo teams are just trying to close up then once the tempo drops because of either fitness or personnel teams are trying to lure you onto them and then once Moreno/Clyne start pushing too far on and are lacking in stamina the are looking for the breakaway and its leaving you exposed. Admittedly I have only half watched your last 3 games but given the complaints on clyne/moreno and what I have seen if I was opposition manager that would be my gameplan. Its all about getting through the opening storm.

Edit - dunno what you pool fans think or anyone else for that matter just my take on half watching last few matches.

The last bit I agree with, not seen them play that badly for a while. You should have been at least 2 to the good.

Villarreal are anything but average...

This was obviously based on last night alone, i should have been more clearer.

I haven't been watching Liverpool and felt that comfortable for a while. It seemed a very easy game which is why it's so frustrating we ended up losing it

Same can be said about Liverpool. They hardly tested Villarreal keeper. Remember one good shot by Firmino and that's it. Villarreal looked very comfortable dealing with your attack.

Liverpool reminded me of United under LVG and not in a good way.

Controlled in the first 2/3rds of the pitch, toothless in the final third. Let's hope it doesnt burn you like it did us

Away side in a European semi 1st leg - I think we executed a gameplan very well until the 91st minute haha.

Joe Allen should have scored, Moreno had a very good chance and Firmino hit the post. A 0-0 suited us very well, it's just a shame we switched off right at the end

Nah you should have pushed on, and you could have won that game relatively well.

Too cautious, and without reason tbh. Got to win by 2 because i'll be amazed if they dont get one at your place

Arsene Wenger tells Arsenal fans: Be more like Liverpool - Liverpool Echo

This is gold. "I know we should've won the title this year, but can you please be better supporters?"

Wenger got so many things wrong it's unbelievable.

He said they were leading away form table but they aren't. They are miles behind Leicester. He said be like Liverpool and suipport manager but they didn't when things went bad with Rodgers, only after managerial change Liverpool fans are happy. So if Arsenal can do that then surely Arsenal fans will support their team.

Year after year same promises and same results means fans are right to voice their opinion. Also they are paying highest ticket price in the world IIRC.

No, he said be like Liverpool and support the team. And as much as I know you like to grab any chance you get to throw jabs at Liverpool on any level conceivable, Rodgers never won the league for us like Wenger has done for Arsenal. But even that is irrelevant; Rodgers has nothing to do with this.

Might be down to the fact we didn't start with a recognised striker?

I don't know. I feel if it stayed 0-0 it was a job well done, and if we nicked the goal at the end with Moreno then Klopp would be hailed a genius. But conceding like that has spun it on the head.

I completely agree - the set-up at the beginning was clever because Klopp adjusted to the tie in which we were away first, but at half-time/60mins we should have pushed on knowing we were controlling the game.

This is when Sturridge should have come on, without doubt.

The late goal could be a killer, but i am confident we would be able to score three should we need to.

Jab at Liverpool? Getting more defensive day by day.

It's more like pointing out mistakes of Wenger.

Edit: Go and check how many times Rodgers was booed off this season. That's not supporting the team.
