*CL playoffs. They dont go through to the group stage.

Which part of the playoffs do the winners go in mike? Is first, second or third round. And what sort of seeding will they get if any? Will it be same as 4th place?

Minimum level of playoffs so 3rd round I guess, doesn't mention seeding.

Sevilla would go group stage though, because the Europa league winner gets elevated if the champions league winner comes from their domestic league, and its a guaranteed la liga side

Wait wut I just heard the reporter tell klopp if we win it we go straight into the groups or is he telling porkies?

Unless UEFA have changed their rules in the last month, he's wrong. Really hope that wasn't on BT.

The UEFA Europa League is down to the last four and for the likes of Liverpool and Sevilla it represents a chance to reach the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League that it seems they will be unable to achieve from their domestic competitions.
RELATED ITEMS

This season was the first where the winners of the previous UEFA Europa League gained automatic entry into the UEFA Champions League: Sevilla taking that berth despite finishing fifth in Spain (they are currently seventh). That meant Spain had a record five teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage this time around.
UEFA.com runs through the fundamental points and possible scenarios which could affect clubs' European football participation next term.

Sevilla qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League

Where the winners enter
• The UEFA Champions League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League group stage as normal.

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League (at a minimum level of the play-offs).
• The UEFA Europa League winners will be elevated into the group stage if the UEFA Champions League winners qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic league programme – something which has happened last season to the benefit of Sevilla, and indeed every year since the turn of the century bar 2005, 2007 and 2012.
Maximum of five
• No more than five clubs can enter the UEFA Champions League from one national association (this was an increase on the previous maximum of four).

How it impacts associations' allocations
• It is now theoretically possible for a country with a potential three UEFA Champions League places (currently Italy, Portugal or France) to up this number to five, a country with two places (e.g. Ukraine) to increase to four, or a country with one place to up it to three. This can only happen if the association in question has two clubs who win both major European club competitions but that also do not qualify via their own league.*

Could Liverpool or Manchester City give England a fifth berth?

• Regarding the top three associations (i.e. Spain, Germany and England*): if two clubs from one of these countries win the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, and neither finish their domestic league in a position that qualifies them for the UEFA Champions League (something distinctly possible in England with Manchester City and Liverpool), the following will happen:
– The club that won the UEFA Champions League will go straight into the group stage
– The UEFA Europa League winners will go into the UEFA Champions League play-offs
– The club that had qualified for a UEFA Champions League play-off spot via their domestic league competition (i.e. finished fourth) will transfer into the UEFA Europa League

He was right.

Atletico and Real are playing in the CL final. They will both qualify to CL through La Liga. Ergo we go to group stages if we win EL.

Read somewhere else regardless if we lose the Final we will still be in the CL playoff at the least or something along those lines. It honestly seems like no one really knows the rule tbh.

That's wrong. you get nothing for losing the final

They may do according to other qualified teams apparently?

Also my dads chatting **** that Klopp got told we are through to the CL play offs already by getting to the final. What's that about?

My dad and his wife have just been telling me this. They said they heard it on BT Sport after the game. Got to be wrong though, they've surely misheard what has been said.

Sevilla do because there will be a CL winner from their league because of the Madrid sides.

Liverpool do not qualify if they lose the final.

I know the stats man on this. Will check this for you. Presenter might be thinking FA cup rules have got it wrong.

UEFA's page give you nothing for losing final, sounds very unlikely you do

Yeah the only thing that came to mind was if it was similar to the EL spot in England where if the winners we're already in the top 4 of their league then the CL spot would be passed on to the runners up which would be us. But Sevilla aren't top 4 are they?

I'm gonna do him in if he's wrong I was made up

Aye, Villarreal are the 4th qualified La Liga side. Like you, Sevilla need to win it to play CL

Going to be a monster final. Liverpool are living the dream, but Sevilla are the dream.

We'll have to be at your best and have no injuries. Hopefully Origi gets back in time. Can was outstanding tonight considering he's been thrown straight back in after his injury.

Just reading up on the ticket ballot for the final. I'm missing the ballot because of one game I didn't go. I was in ******* Thailand.

Devastated isn't the word.
