Someone at Palace needs to get their head checked incredibly throughly. Though I'm sure you'd prefer they did it after they confirmed the deal

Believe it or not I think it's a good signing for them.

Slightly overpriced but in the right set-up Benteke will score goals. He will go down as a flop at Liverpool yet he was still our second highest goalscorer this season.

Money is going mental now anyway. 30million is not longer a big transfer and very rarely gets you a world class player like it used to

After the season he had paying practically what L'pool paid for him is not smart, a season that bad should affect your value. If they could get him for a bit less I would agree with you. When you take into account his wages he will be very expensive for Palace

If the market was still the same i would agree - but the new TV deal will have a huge impact on spending this summer

The deal is structured better than Liverpools as well to be fair. He'll have to be a strong success to make it £31m, which will suit Palace just fine.

I said i would not concern myself with Liverpool for two months this summer(due to personal matters) but... 31.5MIL FOR BENTEKE? ****.

If the club accept's the £27 million up front. Which I'd snap Palace's hands off at personally but yer know.

One thing seems pretty certain though and that's Benteke will be at Palace soon.

Nice to see another glaring mistake rectified quickly.

Everyone involved wants the move. It will happen. Liverpool shouldnt quibble here, you are looking at a 5m max loss. take it and run like the wind.

If you look at other players who have gone for similar prices or less this window I would say Palace are getting a bad deal. Benteke would probably be the last one of players who will go for near that amount I would want.

Completely agree with you on what should be his worth. But then on the flip side Watford turned down a £38 million offer for IGHALO!

We'd all be best served forgetting transfer fees in the main. This new TV deal is blowing them out of all proportion and nobody really knows where the market currently lies on valuations until it all settles down.

He has been in decent form last year at least but, that bid was ridiculous. Anyway regarding Benteke will come down to how he does at Palace if he is worth it or not so either of us could be right or wrong

Im sure we'll see next season, but its a sign of ambition from Palace at the very least.

I personally think he'll be a success - style of play is vital because it was terrible for him at Liverpool

Bolasie, Townsend, Zaha, they've got the wingers for him

Accepted a £2.5 million bid from Norwich now for Sergi Canos.

Presumably the same as Bristol City's with a sell on/ buy back clause.

I guess Canos views Norwich as a quicker option to get back the PL. (And get the £10 K a week he feel's he deserves.). Whilst a smaller transfer fee now coupled with a small buy back clause works for L'pool a few years down the line if he fulfils his potential.

Win/win.

If I recall correctly Palace did get billionaire american investors. That along with the upcoming TV deal is probably the reason they can afford Benteke.

Yeah, I have feeling it'll be put out as an open contest pre-season, but barring a complete disaster from Karius, he'll be the one with the job to lose.

Be interesting to see who is in goal at Arsenal the opening game like.

Start Migno v Arsenal. It's a horrible place to go, wouldn't want Karius conceding many (if at all) on his debut.

F that la. Opening day. Ubber fit group. Go with the attitude that we aren't gonna' concede and are gonna' win!
