What a result yesterday. I've said it many times before; not playing well but getting results is a sign of top 4 or even champions. And we definitely did that yesterday. Still looked a bit shaky at the back though, and inevitably that'll play a part in the final 10 games. Anfield will be rocking if we're still in it when we play Chelsea and City at home. Can't help but take me back to 05 or 07 were we turned giants Chelsea over at Anfield.

He's been brilliant at Sunderland. I just don't think its happened for him for us yet but I haven't given up hope. His first goal for us showed he has composure. Just needs a bit of luck.

We also played different football while he was still with us. The quick counter attacking play we use now will suit him much much more I think

Not that bad to think we'll have Borini as a back-up striker next year.. A winger (Konoplyanka?), a central midfielder and a few defensive changes and we could be set!

Definitely think we should go for Konoplyanka. I've watched him at least 4 or 5 full games now, some international and some for Dnipro. He has got talent and I reckon would fit into our high tempo game. Although we should be mindful of the fact that we only had the PL to focus on this season. So we need to strengthen significantly in the summer as we will want to be successful in Europe as well.

Borini's goal in the capital one cup final was fantastic , hope he is given a second chance at liverpool after seeing how well he has done during his loan spell.

Not worried. It's from last seasons finances and doesn't include this years sponsorships, not to mention we've done dramatically better domestically. Would UEFA be lenient on us anyway knowing the debt that got put on the club by them cowboys? FSG have done a good job on getting rid of that debt and with us firm favorites for top 4 I wouldn't worry.

Doesn't include new sponsorships, sale of a couple of players and a few other little things.
In terms of the FFP rules we're fine because there are costs that don't get included in that value so that 50mil loss would probably be a profit or breaking even.

Club still has debt but atleast now in non-interest and getting closer to being more self sustaining.

I know it doesn't include this season, and that The Guardian have put a negative spin on it, but I still feel we're too close for comfort, in terms of profit/loss. I doubt we'll actually fail the Financial Fair Play regulations, but it's not exactly great figures.

Ha, there's at least 10 big CL clubs that should worry about FFP before us.

Guardian putting a negative spin on it for literally no reason.. Even The Sun wrote about Liverpool's positive financial state.

?50m is nothing, and given that we're making positive steps, & almost all the money we owe is to the owners companies, we have nothing to worry about.

Exactly, see so many people reading far too into it and getting worked up about missing CL and other punishments.

We're in a much much better position than we have been for a few years now and it's only going to keep improving with FSG.

There are also rumours that we're close to signing Micah Richards from City. That seems logical as I'm sure we'd be able to get him cheap (due to his lack of first-team action this season and injury history) and therefore we'd have more money to spend on other positions, namely on a left-back and a winger. If we managed to get Richards, Rodriguez and Konoplyanka in the summer, I'd be a very happy man!

I can see him being brought in to replace Johnson, somewhere between 5-8mil depending on who's reporting it too.
Bring in Kono for 16mil and if rumours are to be believed we have 60mil to spend in the summer still gives us 35+ mil.

Great result for Villa today. Means that if we win both our games in hand we go 1 point behind chelsea, and presuming City win their games, we will be 4 points behind them, and we have to play them both at home. Its gonna be an epic end to the season whatever happens!

No idea why we are playing Sterling as a CAM? Why not just stick with Cou if he wasnt planning on playing a winger? Slightly odd decision from BR. Time will tell though.

Pace in the middle to run at Vidic & Jones I think.

So nerve racking watching this.

Deserve to be ahead. United seriously poor and Rafael should be sent off, it's not even a debatable decision... You just know Rafael will be involved if United get anything today

He was absolutely brilliant in that role in the last game when he came on and like Danny said his pace is troublesome

He hasnt been so great today though. Been easily out muscled by Fellaini and hasnt really got the passing ability like Cou. Would like to him him pushed out wide in the second half
