Agger tends to get bullied easy by big forwards, I'd take Sakho over Agger which is I'd expect to see one of Agger/Skrtel to leave.

Sahko-Agger would be my preferred partnership. I think Skrtel is more likely to leave, he seems the one most open to moving on, although Agger is the one with the most interest in him.

I'd prefer to lose Skrtel out of the two but Agger does pick up the most interest. If we can get Agger and Sakho playing well together I'd be more than delighted. As everyone pundit and pocket manager likes to point out they're both left footed though.

Nobody ever has an issue with two right footed center backs.

I don't see why we need to sell either, tbf.. We do need a better back-up than Toure though, especially as our defenders are so injury prone. Such a shame about how Coates' career turned out.

Agger's a top defender when he is fit and has the confidence. Sakho is very hopeful and I hope will stay with us and grow as the club gets back on it's feet. Skrtel on the other hand... I can't stand him, he makes way too many mistakes per game and is becoming a real liability.

I don't think Sahko will ever actually reach anywhere near his potential at Liverpool to be honest, he just doesn't seem suited to the physicality of England, or the pressure of playing for a big club like Liverpool. In his PSG days, he often made big mistakes or simply got distracted in the big games.

Of course he is only young, but I think you'd be better to sell him and Skrtel and buy at least 2 CBs capable of playing in Europe (Presuming you get in top 4)

I can see Coates moving on soon, Ilori will most likely be loaned out again unless he fairs well in pre-season. If one of them does end up leaving I'd expect the club to go for another fairly experienced CB in their mid 20s.

Wouldn't mind having Vertonghen from Spurs if he really does want out but then we'd have even more left footed defenders.

Don't think you'd have a chance of getting him to be honest. Levy is so difficult to deal with, he would either demand way too much for him, or just refuse to sell him to a Prem team.

Haha yeah, was more of a slightly hopeful suggestion more than a realistic target.

I remember this being said about a certain Mr. Coutinho. Also similar thought about Sturridge. Look how they turned out

It was never said about Sturridge as far as I am aware? And playing as an attacking midfielder is much less physically demanding than playing at CB, same with being able to handle the pressure. You don't need to be constantly concentrating in AM, and the worst a mistake is likely to do is cause the current attack to fail. A mistake from your CB, and you are likely to concede.

It wasnt necessarily that Sturridge wasnt up to the physicality of the Prem, but more that he was too lazy/not a good enough player. Ferguson saying he was a "Big Gamble" and what not.

I guess only time will tell, but I think Sakho has looked fairly good for us so far.

I think it's hard to try hard for a club when they don't believe in you yourself. Liverpool are the only team that've actually shown some belief in him.

that was brilliant, considering how soon before that he signed Bebe

Tour? isn't a bad player, he's just prone to mistakes and is in a bad run of form. He's got experience, and he was very good at the start of the season, so I think he still deserves a chance. However, we do need to find a younger back-up defender for the long term, unless Wisdom or Ilori make it.

Just read the Mirror linking us with a move for Bojan for around ?5million from Barcelona

Would make perfect sense.. Similar to that of Coutinho in the fact he was once rated very highly, lost a bit of form so available for a smaller fee

Correct me if im wrong but aren't your problems at the back? The only players i see Liverpool linked with is attacking players!

They are yes, but the one player we were heavily linked with in January? Konoplyanka

Quite clear Rodgers is an all out attacking coach, although i'm nearly certain a CB and a full back will be signed in the summer

Agreed. We need to work on our defence issues now. Sure, it doesn't hurt to improve our A-Team attack but lets be honest here; defence needs to be a priority.

The defence will always be weaker no matter who is there.

The system doesn't allow a strong defence. Full backs who push forward, Centre-mids who like to do the same. Leaves a lot of work for the CB's and Gerrard

Although a few goals are down to personal mistakes the defence will never be perfect in this system

Don't think Bojan will be anything positive for Liverpool...
At Ajax he isn't playing all games and mostly when he starts he'll get subbed at ~60 minutes, because he just isn't doing it.
Comparing to Suarez at his Ajax time, Suarez was a true beast, while most ajax supporters don't reckon Bojan good enough for the first team at the moment if there are no injuries.
