Disappointed to see us Everton fans, for some bizarre reason, being criticized after a loss to Chelsea. I have never been bitter of Liverpool. There's definately a quarter of Everton fans who are not bitter. Why? Because Liverpool have-or realistically speaking-had-a chance to bring the title back to Merseyside. Believe it or not some of us would've loved to see the title back there. And yes, it's rather sad that there's also a quarter of us who want to lose to Man City-though thank christ I am not one of them. We have nothing to be bitter of anymore. We've had a great season under a new gaffer-and we were once more a force to be reckoned with under David Moyes-and the future is very promising indeed-especially with all the tremondous talent we have coming through.

Accept the fact that it wasn't meant to be against Chelsea. Llke we had to accept the fact that we scored two own goals against Southampton which has cost us the CL. Though if you want to alienate Everton fans further and make us dislike you even more feel free to criticise needlessly.

And FYI-we're not *****. Not by a long shot.

Ambramovich cares about winning more than anything else ...

Wasn't he sacked before because of his playing style or am I confusing Mourinho with Tony Pulis again?

Chelsea win Champions League, manager get sacked. Chelsea win Europa League, manager gets sacked. Yeah, Abramovich only cares about winning.

Nice to see the Chelsea fans be something other than massively negative and depressed about their season.

Mourinho had first complained about a lack of funds and there was tension between the two over the Shevchenko and Ballack deals I believe. There was a bit of a power struggle between the two and Roman wanted to play stylish football so it all broke down and he had to go.

This is a genuine comment, before anyone says otherwise...

Mourinho against the bigger sides is tactically very good and usually gets the results (pictures in the last few pages). Against the big sides he can sit back and play '19th century football' and it generally works because the bigger sides try and win games, where as he tries to steal them

However, Chelsea this season may have lost the league because of their results against the 'smaller' sides where Mourinho cannot just defend and play on the counter. Almost the tables have turned and his side has to take the game to the opposition.. Hence the hypocritical comments from Mourinho about West Ham previously

It seems to me for all the plaudits Mourinho gets, when it comes to winning games without defending deep he is still very naive and it cost's Chelsea.

Not sure what you think about it, BUT West Ham want a new manager because of the style of football being played, yet arguably the biggest side in England and one of the biggest in Europe are quite happy for Mourinho's negative style in a season that could see the club win nothing because of it

Yes, we United fans are very happy with it :)

When it comes to big games, Mourinho is a genius. No two ways about it. His record is ridiculous.

To be fair the squad deserves every bit more credit Mourinho gets. They are usually brilliant in the key games and they have been for a while now. And the Chelsea bus has been pretty effective in securing the trophies. But they consistently don't show up for day-to-day boring PL duty, and it has been the case this season as well.

Agreed mostly. The squad's always been good at big games, but it's only under Mourinho that they've been truly great. He's the difference between good and ridiculously good. Agreed with the rest.

But this is the Liverpool thread, we should probably stop discussing Chelsea here. :P

IF Liverpool were to win the league now, it would be even sweeter especially for Steven Gerrard... Fans have been quick to predict its over for LFC when in fact it's too close to call

Liverpool are still front-runners, pending City's next game. It really is a great finish to the season.

I was very confident, now i'm not so... it all depends how we react against Palace. Tough game and we have just got to hope the players' heads are right

I think City v Everton decides the title personally, cant see them dropping points in their final 2 games

Yeah was the same problem in his last season in Spain. They were ******* brutal on the counter, but when you're Real Madrid, you can't just give away the initiative and wait 60 minutes for somebody to slip. And then in CL semis Dortmund pretty much **** on them - instead of trying to chase Cristiano they aggressively broke the counters before they could even start.

The players heads will be right don't worry, Gerrard will make sure that they never slip alone. Sorry I'll get my coat.

In all seriousness, Liverpool aren't out of it, I just can't see City ******* it up now.

Describing Everton fans as bitter just before going on an incredibly bitter rant at Chelsea is rather ironic.

Despite Chelsea playing like they were in a relegation battle not a title fight it was still a tactic victory for Mourinho. There's not much more we can do, we had enough chances to get a point, sure we were against a human wall but I can't help but feel that if Gerrard wasn't trying to make up for his error with an endless barrage of below average 20 yard strikes we could have perhaps actually sneaked an equalizer in.

The difference here is I'm, understandably, fuming at a team that could've just cost us the title. Everton bitters just love it when things go wrong for us. They've been quiet all season until yesterday.

Stevie can have shots all day as far as I'm concerned, you never know when he's going to pull out a screamer. I'm more bothered about aspas doing short corners when we've got every ******* player in the box the stupid ugly *******.

Exactly my point ... Even people who have won trophies for Chelsea previously will be sacked if Roman feels they can't win anymore as was the case in RDM. And let's not even get into the issue of Rafa because a much better option in Mourinho became available so he was removed. Rafa's reputation got a boost and Chelsea got a trophy. Win-win

Chelsea fans are like they won the league in anfield.

But wait you didn't and most likely you won't.

Tapatalked

No, we are acting like this because we were written off yet again by so many and beaten a side which the media have been sucking off for months now that's why! We are quite clear we didn't win the league on Sunday and also quite clear we more than likely won't win it, don't forget we do know how that feels.

Yes but as i said at the start of the season Roman re-hiring Jose said a lot to me that he is ready for change. Plus transfers for the first time seems to be in the hands of Jose even the loaning of youth players, it seems the club on the whole has realized we need a little spell of stability to finish this transition which started in 2010 and has kept being stalled.

The thing is we can play different ways, we don't sit so deep against the so called smaller sides but we lack a few things which is something i pointed out on many occasions this season. When teams do to us what we do to the bigger sides we don't have a target man, imagine if Liverpool had Carroll on Sunday at least you would have had a genuine target to trouble Brana and Kalas and Chelsea wouldn't have wanted to force you wide so much. So i think we lack someone like that, Ba could do it but i think we have under used him this season in that regard. And another one is a proper winger, we don't really have anyone who goes round the outside of fullbacks and our normal fullbacks (Brana and Azpi) don't really venture forward either.

Interesting analysis from Neville and Carragher. They're being pretty critical of Liverpool's approach and Rodger's tactics.

Some of it is pretty silly though. Like they moan about the unprepared long shots and too much crosses. Apparently you should have just played tika-taka and wait for an opening. Except that's exactly what Bayern did and they also broke their teeth on Chelsea-bus.

You'd think two former defenders would have more praise for the resilience of Chelsea defense and admit there's simply no foolproof way to break it down. Bayern, City, Barca, basically the best attacking teams in the world, are almost helpless when facing JT and the gang. Last couple of years they've pulled off some of the best defensive displays I've ever witnessed, and I'm a lifelong Milan fan, so I've seen decent defender or two.

Instead of simply saying that, moan about wrong attacking tactics. Silly.
