We didn't let it slip. It's been the same all season, we just can't defend. Even against the small clubs as we saw last night.

3-0 up and totally in control to 3-3 and under the cosh? That's pretty much the definition of letting it slip.

If they keep getting 52 league goals a season I quite frankly couldn't give a ****.

Oh well so long as you're cool with not necessarily putting games to bed that's alright then.

Jesus ******* Christ everyone shut up and take your accusations and mudslinging elsewhere. Nobody cares.

Something that I've found interesting this season and was somewhat evident in the Palace match was Sturridge and Suarez and their vaunted strike partnership. When Liverpool are losing, drawing or up to 2-0 up, it's absolutely lethal and they have an uncanny knack for finding each other. Once you all have got past two goals or the game looks safe, they seem to just begin playing for themselves and ignoring their strike partner. It's quite frustrating to watch as a neutral, can't imagine what it'd be like as a fan.

What he said. Someone make this man a mod (so I can do even less work). And Liverpool fans taking the moral high ground on **** taking. Really?

Their collective team play and heads seem to go.

Like I said, I am alrite with a 3-0 comeback against my team a season if they're getting 52 goals a season.

I'd rather that then have a player who always tries to play it to his team-mate despite the score even though they'll only get 20 goals combined a season.

We definitely let the game slip, there is no doubt about that..

But i wouldn't be too concerned with the strikers... 52 goals most seasons would be incredible. Games will be alot more comfortable if we had a better defensive unit

So just to confirm, you think it's okay to just let easily winnable games slip out of the team's grasp, so long as your team scores a lot at other, meaningless times?

You're talking about extremes here, whereas I'm talking about a balance. Of course, take the shot if it's on, but Sturridge and Suarez often just start thinking about how many goals they could bag for themselves as opposed to the team and start taking shots when players are wide open. 52 goals this season could've and should've been more, that's how **** good this strike partnership is, but they need to be less selfish.

Quite aside from your defensive unit, if your attackers had worked better as a unit after going a couple of goals up in every game they did so then frankly these last few games might've taken on a whole different context. If Liverpool were even 6 goals better in GD than you were then you go 3-0 up against Palace and don't have to throw everyone forward and get caught on the counter. Goal difference is important, and next year with two-legged European ties it's going to be even more important.

I wasn't really giving this as a huge criticism, mind. It's just that it's pretty obvious what Liverpool need most desperately, so it's interesting to look at the smaller things that need improvement.

Tell you one thing, Johnson better get himself sorted out if he goes to Brazil. After last night I'm pretty fearful for the RB position if he goes.

do we not have anyother rb?

Kyle Walker but questions over fitness at the moment. and there's Flanagan who can be used as cover. I like flanagan as he's versatile and can cover on either flank

Walker. If there were any justice in the world Joel Ward would go seeing as he's been by far and away the best English RB, followed by Clyne, but hey.

Im sure I heard Walker was injured? Could be wrong though.

I still think Flanno deserves to go, but maybe im being bias?

Yeah pelvic injury, but the rumour is he's ahead of schedule in his recovery

Flanagan's done very well this season but I think it might be a little too soon for Scouse Cafu. Besides that, he's done well, but Ward and Clyne have been fantastic. Ward's been our flat out best player from my perspective.

Pleeeeease stop talking ****. Everyone talks **** on this forum nowadays.

They're selfishness and competitiveness with each other are what has made them so good this season. If you think you could get them scoring more then please, please, write Brendan a letter with your tips and analysis.

We are guarenteed to be in with a chance of winning the league on the last day of the season... Anything can happen on the last day and if you had offered any Liverpool fan that chance they would have bit your hand off

In a way its a positive all this rival fan 'banter' because it shows how bitter they are.. Liverpool fans were exactly the same in previous seasons when we were doing poorly and rival sides were playing better. Complete role reversal now

I suspect many peoples joy that Liverpool bottled it is mainly because of the media **** sucking coverage you have got this season mate. I genuinely cannot remember another side getting this much backing and so much dross written about them. I also think its very well known that Liverpool fans are known as unbearable winners and a whole season with them as Champions would have been a nightmare.

Although that is one of my reasons why i was so happy for the bottle job i have many other reasons alongside them.

I wouldn't disagree with you to be honest, i have said for a long time now that both Johnson and Walker are very average right backs.

Have been impressed with Flannagan this season but feel it may be a tad too early with him, also for me another case of "better going forward" fullback.
